A simple recipe for puff pastry rolls with boiled sausage and cheese

Store-bought puff pastry filled with boiled sausage is a quick way to prepare a snack with a minimum of physical effort. The store-bought version of the dough significantly saves time when cooking, which will please even a novice housewife.

Ingredients:

  • Puff pastry – 250 g
  • Boiled sausage – 150 gr
  • Dutch cheese – 100 gr
  • Dill - 4 sprigs
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tbsp. spoons
  • Salt, spices - to taste

Cooking method

Prepare the ingredients.
Allow the frozen dough to thaw. To do this, just leave it at room temperature for 20-30 minutes. Advice.
You should not leave puff pastry for a long time in a warm room, because... it will spread too much, stick together and lose its shape.

Grate the boiled sausage and Dutch cheese into large, slightly oblong pieces.

Advice.

It is better to take boiled sausage without lard such as “Doctorskaya”, frankfurters or wieners, and Dutch cheese can be replaced with any other hard type.

Remove tough stems from the greens and finely chop the dill leaves with a knife. Mix greens with mayonnaise.

Advice.

To reduce the calorie content of the dish, mayonnaise is replaced with sour cream or thick yogurt.

Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured board a little in different directions, giving the base the same thickness. Trim the uneven edges of the dough with a knife.

Coat the base of the roll with mayonnaise and herbs.

Advice.

Crush everything with an even layer of boiled sausage, chopped on a grater.

Advice.

Alternatively, sausages can be cut into very thin slices and placed on mayonnaise. But do not cut the products into cubes, otherwise they will break through the puff pastry when rolling and baking.

Cover meat products with grated cheese.

Carefully wrap the puff pastry with sausage and cheese into a roll, being careful not to let the filling fall out.

Using a knife, cut the roll into equal pieces about 5 cm wide.

Advice.

You need to cut the dough with a very sharp knife so as not to crush the product, but to maintain its appetizing appearance.

Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. To give the finished snack an appetizing rosy finish, coat the top of each piece with a brush dipped in water.

Advice.

Depending on the desired color, the top of the product can be greased with milk, vegetable oil or yolk. The color range of the snack will vary from light yellow to rich dark brown.

Sprinkle everything with sesame seeds. This nuance will make the snack appetizing and very attractive in appearance.

Advice.

Sesame seeds can be replaced with flax, sunflower or coarse salt.

Bake the rolls in a preheated oven at 200 C for 30-40 minutes.

Allow the appetizer to cool before eating, and you can serve the sausage roll before main courses or even with a cup of sweet tea or coffee.
