Psychosomatics in gynecology
Psychosomatic illnesses are not far-fetched. These are real functional disorders that require medical treatment. But the specificity of such diseases is that without eliminating stress factors, treatment will be useless. Only comprehensive medical and psychological therapy will help you heal completely.
Diseases develop when the body reaches the peak of exhaustion, when defense mechanisms fail. The limit of patience varies from person to person. Endurance depends on strength, frequency of traumatic events, health and endurance of the body and psyche.
Reproductive system disorders
Any difficulties with conceiving and bearing a child signal a subconscious reluctance and unpreparedness for the role of a mother. Reproductive psychosomatics can be caused by the following reasons:
- a woman’s lack of confidence in herself or a man;
- problems in relationships with a partner;
- selfishness and egocentrism, reluctance to part with freedom, personal desires and needs;
- lack of feeling of safety and protection;
- fears (of childbirth, changes in relationships with a spouse, a new lifestyle, etc.), unpreparedness for motherhood.
In addition, childhood trauma and personal memories of childhood can have an influence. The cause of female diseases can be experienced violence, reproaches from parents (“we wanted a boy”), upbringing without a father (had to play the role of a man) or without a mother (there was no female example), prohibitions from parents in matters of intimate life and marriage.
Some parents, without knowing it, spoil the future lives of their daughters when they raise “good girls who don’t hang out with boys.” According to the theory of transactional analysis, there are three selves in every person: adult, parent, child. The voice and attitudes of our parents always sound in our heads. Therefore, women who in childhood heard continuous prohibitions and condemnations, even when married, cannot allow themselves to enjoy intimate life. Hence dissatisfaction with oneself, self-condemnation. And then illnesses appear both as a consequence of suppressed desire and as a way of avoiding intimate life.
I'm killing his sperm
Psychosomatist Oksana Lyubitskaya on her blog in the “Psychosomatics Gynecology” section told the following story from practice: a woman could not become pregnant from her husband, since her body produced antibodies that killed her husband’s sperm. That is, a hormonal imbalance occurred. Moreover, as the doctors said, these antibodies are directed specifically at the husband’s cells; this would hardly have happened to other men. It's all due to a woman's subconscious reluctance to become a mother. It sounds fantastic, but it is reality. This is how the power of thought works.
Self-unblocking barriers to motherhood
To unblock barriers on your own, you need to understand the benefits of infertility. Analyze the situation and find what your body is protecting you from. He chose the most reliable method of contraception for a reason. Perhaps you are not ready for a child, but are trying to conceive because you are being influenced by others. Or your relationship with your spouse leaves much to be desired. Try to think logically.
Hypothalamus and reproduction
Motivation to reproduce depends on the functioning of the hypothalamic-pituitary system. It is these parts of the brain (pituitary gland and thalamus) that are responsible for the production of hormones. And while a woman is in a state of anxiety (no matter for what reason), the hypothalamus will not allow her to conceive a child.
An unresolved situation in a relationship with a husband, conflicts in the family or at work, an intrapersonal conflict - all this sends signals to the hypothalamus, and it turns off the woman’s reproductive function. And if the situation is not just alarming, but also dangerous for a woman, then the motive of self-preservation wins. This dominant also disables the reproductive function of the body. Examples of dangerous conditions: hunger, emotional instability, violence and frequent conflicts, social instability, etc. The body thinks about how to save itself. What kind of bearing and development of a child is there?
Folk remedies for restoring hormonal balance
As an additional therapy to the main treatment, a woman can use traditional medicine, which over the centuries of its existence has collected many recipes and methods for restoring hormonal balance.
Oregano for hormonal imbalance. Promotes the production of hormones, prevents the development of hormonal disorders. To prepare an infusion of oregano you will need: 2 tbsp. l. oregano herbs, pour 0.5 l. boiling water, leave for 20 minutes, strain and take 100 mil 2 times a day.
Hops infusion. 1 tbsp. l. hops are poured with 0.5 liter of boiling water. Infuse in a thermos, take 50 mil 3 times a day. With the help of this infusion, you can not only prevent the development of hormonal disorders, but also increase the size of the mammary glands.
Flax seeds are a natural source of estrogen. For cooking you will need 1 tbsp. flax seeds 0.5 l. kefir, natural yogurt or curdled milk. Take half a glass 2 – 3 times a day.
Sage for hormonal imbalance. Allows you to stimulate the production of estrogen. To prepare, you need to brew sage in a thermos and take it from days 6 to 15 of the menstrual cycle.
It is important to note that, despite the safety of traditional medicine, before using any of the recipes, you need to consult a doctor. Some herbs can provoke the development of bleeding, which can be dangerous to a woman’s health.
Causes of some diseases
The main common cause of female diseases is denial of femininity and sexuality, lack of self-acceptance, and dislike of oneself. However, each gynecological disease has its own psychological prerequisites.
Premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
PMS is mental, vegetative-vascular and hormonal disruptions before the onset of menstruation. Most girls believe that PMS is a normal phenomenon that all women experience. But in psychology, painful menstruation is considered a sign of internal trouble. In particular, anxiety, fuss, nervousness, anger and resentment, as well as self-centeredness and loss or suppression of interest in life.
According to another theory, this is a reflection of non-acceptance of oneself as a woman. What is caused by a problematic relationship with the mother. Mother is the first female image, an example. If there is anger, anger, resentment, fear, hatred in a relationship, then the image of a woman is blocked by the subconscious. Moreover, it is not the image of the mother that is blocked, but the image of the woman as such. The mechanism is simple: “I will not be like my mother, that is, I will not be a woman.”
Candidiasis (thrush)
The reason is self-doubt, inability to help oneself, worries about not meeting other people's expectations, doubts about the correctness and incorrectness of decisions made. According to other sources, thrush is the result of the perception of intimacy as something dirty and vicious. A woman misses her ideal and immaculate self. The cause of chronic thrush is deep trauma, such as violence.
Ovaries and their dysfunction
The reason is intrapersonal conflict, fear, rage. And also problems with the ovaries indicate internal blocks that prevent you from being fulfilled in a relationship with a man.
The fallopian tubes
Every person from birth has feminine and masculine principles. A harmonious combination of both is important for successful socialization, interaction with the opposite sex, and harmonious development. The fallopian tubes are a symbol of the connection between beginnings. Such a woman experiences difficulties in relationships with men and in self-realization.
Inflammatory processes
Psychosomatic inflammatory diseases include vulvitis (inflammation of the external genitalia), colpitis (damage to the uterine mucosa), adnexitis (infection in the fallopian tubes and ovaries). The reason is the fear of not being up to par, doubts about one’s sexuality and femininity. It can also signal a feeling of vulnerability, weakness in front of men, suppressed aggression, anger, contempt.
Polyps
Polyps are benign small growths on the walls of the uterus or other parts of the female organs. The reason is a feeling of self-pity, resentment and sincere misunderstanding (“why am I doing this, why is he doing this to me?”).
Myoma
Myoma is a benign tumor that occurs due to the proliferation of muscle tissue. Abnormal cell growth begins due to hormonal imbalance. The psychosomatic reason is a strong desire to have a child, based on the perception of motherhood as the only indicator of female usefulness and solvency. This also leads to the fear of being unnecessary if there is no child or when the children grow up.
According to other sources, fibroids are the body’s response to internal grievances and the attitude “they don’t love me”, a feeling of guilt towards the mother. Such women are prone to depression and bad mood, they do not know how and do not want to forgive.
The cause of oncology is unforgiven grievances, lack of confidence in oneself and one’s future, feelings of guilt, disappointment in life.
Uterine prolapse
Uterine prolapse is a displacement of the fundus of the cervix caused by weakening of the muscles. The psychosomatic reason is a feeling of personal unfulfillment, self-resentment, underestimation of one’s femininity.
Cervical erosion
Erosion is an inflammatory process caused by mechanical damage or infectious infection. The reason is suppressed resentment, corroding from the inside, unsatisfied personal needs and desires. This disease is typical of strong women. On the one hand, they want to be feminine, and on the other hand, they do not want to yield to men.
Early menopause
Menopause is a period of decline of the reproductive system. The reason is the fear of aging, loss of attractiveness, including sexual attractiveness in the eyes of a partner.
Treatment and prevention
The main cause of diseases is problems with female self-identification. For treatment and prevention, a woman must know and accept her characteristics, love her femininity and sexuality. In psychosomatics it is believed that the soul itself chooses the body. That is, you chose to be born a woman. You just have to remember why you chose it. Probably because they wanted to develop specifically as a woman:
- love and open your heart;
- develop feminine consciousness, intuition and wisdom;
- cultivate feminine qualities (gentleness, kindness, tenderness, patience).
But at the same time, you need to remember about the harmonious development of the masculine and feminine principles. It is also necessary to cultivate masculine qualities: strength, courage, endurance, determination, courage, hard work, determination. Although women with diseases usually do not have problems with this. It is more difficult to develop purely feminine qualities than masculine or general ones.
The second common cause of problems with women's health is a negative attitude towards men, which is associated with personal experience (relationships with brother, father, husband, former lover, etc.). To eliminate this cause, it is necessary to work through the psychological trauma and correct the current relationship, if any.
To harmonize the state, experts recommend changing your thinking and self-perception. Positive words and thoughts are the main tool for healing. Each disease has its own setting:
- Erosion. Affirmation: I will grow, develop, achieve my goal. I won't get sick anymore. I forgive and let go of my bad experiences.
- Ovarian pathologies: I have a joyful perception of the world, I feel complete harmony in my body.
- Thrush: I perceive my body with joy and admiration, I can do anything, there are no barriers in front of me.
- Early menopause: I will continue to love my body, feel my femininity and importance to others.
- Oncology: I get rid of feelings of guilt, anger, forgive my offenders. I am being reborn again to start living in a new way.
What is important to remember when self-correcting a psychophysiological state:
- The body and psyche are interconnected, one affects the other. Change your thoughts - your body will change.
- Affirmation is the most accessible method of working with the subconscious, correcting the psycho-emotional and physical state.
- Often repeated thoughts turn into beliefs.
- Any pain and discomfort is a sign of suppressed emotions and desires.
- Behind every disease there is a hidden benefit.
The main idea to remember: guilt, complexes, barriers, grievances, fears - this is emotional garbage. You need to get rid of him.

Hormonal imbalance psychosomatics
Why does hormonal imbalance occur in a woman’s body? There is undoubtedly one reason - stress. Stress is a long-term negative emotion. And it doesn’t matter which one.
Most often it is a rejection of what happens in life. Disagreement with what is happening. Hurry, the desire to do everything. Being in a state of irritability, anger.
I’ll tell you my story of how I came to understand this fact in my life, maybe my example will be instructive for someone.
My son had a disease incompatible with military service, and when the time came for conscription, the military registration and enlistment office workers did not pay attention to the entries in the medical record and simply sent a summons. Of course, as a mother, I disagreed with what was happening. I had to protect my son. And I decided to act. It would be good if I simply calculated the moves and looked for specialists who could provide supporting documents.
But. I became involved in this situation emotionally. Worrying, angry, indignant.
PMS Psychosomatics Yes, I proved the truth, but at what cost. When everything was resolved, I had to see a gynecologist, as hot flashes and menstrual irregularities began. I tried taking hormones, but it didn’t make it any easier, my periods just returned.
But I didn't need that. It was then that I began to think about what caused the hormonal imbalance and how to help myself.
And then I understood everything, turning the wheel of time back a little. I left the state of internal harmony, and the solution was simple - to return to it. Which is what I did. I gave up hormones, calmed down, meditated, walked, abstracted myself, and everything returned to normal.
Life has taught me what not to do. But menopause was on my doorstep. What about younger women, and what are the causes of premenstrual syndrome?
Strange as it may seem, they are all from the same series. Internal conflict. The reality in the physical world does not coincide with what we desire. Protest against reality.
But we ourselves create the life we live. For some this is an abstract phrase, but for others they have already realized how we create.
You can, of course, become a “don’t care” and give up on everything. You can accept it. Or you can accept what is and change your world by changing yourself.
And, in my opinion, the last path is the most correct. I'll teach you if you want.
Psychosomatics of hormonal disorders
You need to act, you need to change the situation for the better, if you don’t agree, but you need to learn to do this with a “cold heart”, without getting emotionally involved. That is, step back slightly and wisely say to yourself, “This too shall pass.”
Disturbances of the hormonal system originate in disorders of the thyroid gland , this is primarily. And she already coordinates the work of other endocrine glands.
You can tell me that you understood everything, realized that you shouldn’t worry and be nervous. But how do you get to this state? How to learn to maintain inner peace? How to create harmony in yourself? If you have such a question, then I invite you to my training. This is what I teach in the online course Harmony of Life.
I also recommend that you take the master class “Psychosomatics of Women’s Diseases” , I hope a lot of things will become clear to you for the reasons.

Diseases of the endocrine system according to psychosomatics
Our body is closely connected by the soul. It is not for nothing that there is a proverb, “a healthy mind in a healthy body”, and vice versa. Mental suffering and illnesses affect human health; they result in all sorts of diseases of organs or entire systems of our body.
It is worth considering how the mental state of the human soul affects the endocrine system. How are they interconnected? What are the symptoms of psychosomatic disease of the endocrine system? How to treat such diseases? And many other, no less important, questions related to this topic.

Endocrine system
Before talking about diseases, you should find out what the human endocrine system is? Why is it needed and what is it responsible for?
The endocrine system, in other words, is a system of endocrine glands. The glands secrete hormones into our body, with the help of which various processes take place. Each cell of our body has its own functions, which can be weakened or enhanced under the influence of hormones. To put it very briefly, the endocrine system ensures the holistic functioning of the human body. The endocrine system includes glands:
- Pituitary;
- Thyroid;
- Epithelial body;
- Adrenal glands;
- Neurosecretory nuclei of the hypothalamic part of the brain;
- Epiphysis
Nature created our body as an integral system, so it is difficult to separately isolate the functions of one or another organ system. In fact, there are many functions of the endocrine system, but the main ones are:
- Control of metabolism in the body;
- Human growth and physiological development;
- Stabilizes the functioning of all body processes;
- Coordinates the work of various human systems and organs;
- Produces energy;
- Forms and stabilizes a person’s emotional background.
The endocrine system consists of four main elements. The brain is the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus (the human brain). The hypothalamus regulates thirst, sleep and hunger. It receives an impulse from certain organs and issues orders to the pituitary gland. The pituitary gland, receiving a task, releases a certain amount of necessary hormones. Which in turn regulate the functioning of organs, glands and other body systems.
No less important glands are the thyroid and parathyroid glands. They also secrete hormones that regulate metabolism. Stabilize the functioning of the nervous system. They are also responsible for the stable functioning of the immune system.
The next link is occupied by the pancreas, whose hormones regulate the amount of sugar in the blood.
The adrenal glands produce the hormone adrenaline.
And the last step in the endocrine system is occupied by the sex glands (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone).
Cyclic hormone-dependent processes in a woman’s life
Menstrual cycle
Unfortunately, in a woman’s life these situations occur more often.
A woman experiences cyclical processes almost every month. During the first phase of the cycle, a number of hormones are produced, the main one being estrogen.
The effect of estrogen on the female body:
- the mood is great,
- memory is better
- attention above,
- nails, hair, skin better,
- libido increases,
- feeling of lightness.
During this period, the woman’s body prepares for fertilization and therefore needs to attract sperm. This is how the procreation instinct is triggered. Therefore, a woman sometimes does not realize to herself why she so wants to flirt and attract the attention of men.
Several days pass, and the flirtatious laugher turns into a gloomy, withdrawn and withdrawn recluse. Some men do not understand what is happening to her and mistake this behavior for attempts to manipulate them. Of course, there are a number of women who really structure their lives in such a way as to control a man. But most do this unconsciously, controlled by the hormones of the second phase of the menstrual cycle. The main one among them is progesterone. It is also called the motherhood hormone. It affects the physical and mental state of a woman. During this period, the woman seems to be preparing for pregnancy; she withdraws into herself, trying to stay safe and not enter into unfamiliar situations, i.e. During this period, he will not attract attention to himself with his behavior and will not take risks.
In addition, in cyclical processes, a woman has periods of “hormonal depression”, when one hormone has already ceased to be produced, and the other has not yet gained strength. And during this period she is at a loss: no hormone affects her and nothing controls her emotions. For her, this is an unusual situation, in which sudden changes in mood and emotional state occur. This syndrome is commonly called PMS. But the fact is that “hormonal depression” occurs not only before menstruation, but also immediately after ovulation (the process of egg maturation). PMS syndrome is often spoken and written about and many men know about it, but few people know about post-ovulatory “hormonal depression”, and it is sometimes more clearly accompanied by mood swings. And if a man, during a period of causeless mood changes, asks: “Are you menstruating?”, he is trying to justify the woman’s behavior with this question. But she suddenly answers: “No.” And then, not finding a justification for such behavior, he changes his opinion about her.
What can you advise women themselves during this period? Since the body itself does not produce hormones that help it create a mood, you can create your own mood with the help of other hormones, such as endorphins. Endorphin is the hormone of happiness; just like estrogen, it lifts your mood, improves your internal state, raises self-esteem, and creates sparkle in your eyes. Play sports, do things that give you pleasure, go for a massage or other enjoyable treatments, take a walk in the park, go to the hairdresser or eat something delicious. Remember that no one can take better care of you than you yourself. And I want to give advice to men: treat your women more favorably, because a woman is always a mystery and it’s not a fact that you will be able to solve it. By the way, at the seminar “Reproductive Health: Preserve, Restore,” you will learn to accurately determine the days of your hormonal state, which will help you prevent your mood and emotional state.
Moon phases
It’s not for nothing that humanity still talks about the existence of witches. But this is a very understandable process. You notice how weather changes affect you: how your mood, condition and well-being change. And you say to yourself - I am a weather dependent.
This is exactly the same way that our state is influenced by processes associated with the Moon. It cannot help but influence us. If the ebb and flow of the tides depend on the Moon, then, of course, the state of water in the human body also depends on the Moon. And during the full moon, we suddenly begin to possess mystical powers, become wise and make the right decisions. During the period of the moon's growth we are in a good, upbeat mood, and during the moon's decline it's the opposite. After all, even your body weight depends on the phases of the moon. And probably many have noticed that during the full moon you add a couple of kilograms, and during the period they decrease. But have you ever thought that the Moon can influence your emotional state? A woman's condition is associated with the phases of the moon. And earlier, when all women lived in accordance with the laws of nature, went to bed at sunset, got up at dawn, when there were no computers and televisions, which have a huge impact on our psyche, women's menstrual cycles were harmonized with the phases of the moon. Most women menstruated during the full moon or new moon. But we have already looked at how hormonal changes depending on the phase of the menstrual cycle affect the emotional state of a woman. Lunar cycles also have an effect.
Change of period of day and night
The fact is that our body is designed in such a way that everything happens in it very cyclically. And the hormone melatonin is responsible for performing rhythms throughout the day and night. This is a hormone that is produced by the pineal gland and only in the dark, during sleep. And if a person disrupts his sleep and wakefulness phases, then much less melatonin is produced. But this hormone affects the rejuvenation of the body and the functioning of the immune system. It has antitumor and antioxidant properties. The hormone is responsible for the quantity and quality of sleep. And processes such as night work, working at a computer before bed, sleeping in a lighted room, frequent changes in time zones and much more disrupt its production. And if in youth this is not very noticeable, then after 35 it seriously affects one’s well-being. Therefore, we must be more attentive to the people around us who are forced to interrupt their night sleep or generally work at this time of day. Over time, these people may experience very serious disturbances in mental processes. As much as we would like to, try to build your daily routine in accordance with the laws of nature. After all, this is very important for the relationship between a man and a woman. In the morning, a man's amount of the hormone testosterone increases, and an erection appears. And many women in the morning either want to get some more sleep, since they went to bed long after midnight, or they jump up and run to get their children ready for school or work. This is where disharmony with the vital rhythms of our body occurs. It (the body) wants one thing, but we give it something completely different. Instead of engaging in intimate relationships in the morning, as nature asks, we, disrupting all the rhythms, commit completely unharmonious actions, thus destroying not only the relationship in a couple, but also our mental health. And then, a few years later, the woman will certainly think: “Yes, he’s older, his potency is no longer the same.” Wow, have you aged? He is only 40. And we had a hand in this when we went against nature. But in our lives there are already quite a lot of processes that destroy our reproductive function.
Endocrine system diseases
The endocrine system is very closely connected with the human nervous system, therefore 90% of all diseases of the endocrine system develop “on nervous grounds”, and only 10% are genetic inheritance from relatives.
In case of disruption of the glands and incorrect release of hormones into the blood, the consequences can be dire. The most dangerous disorders are malfunctions of the pituitary gland and hypothalamus. Since they are the main ones, a failure in them leads to a breakdown of the entire endocrine system. As a result, diseases may develop:
- Developmental delay;
- Stunting and stunting;
- Infertility.
Thyroid dysfunction leads to:
- Oncological diseases of the thyroid gland;
- Goiter of the thyroid gland;
- Graves' disease.
Malfunctions of the pancreas lead to:
- Metabolism problems;
- Diabetes;
- Obesity.
If the adrenal glands malfunction, the following may develop:
- Myocardial infarction;
- Hypertension;
- All kinds of heart diseases.
Malfunctions in the gonads promise:
- Mastopathy;
- Oncological diseases of the mammary glands and ovaries;
- Myoma;
- Cystosis;
- Infertility.
Diseases of the endocrine system are difficult to diagnose and much more difficult to treat. It is very difficult to determine the source of diseases, to deal with problems that arise against the background of psychological stress or shock. In this case, the help of not only doctors, but also psychologists is needed.
Psychosomatic diseases of the thyroid gland
What can lead to thyroid diseases? The very first, and not always correct, opinion says that thyroid disease is a genetic disease transmitted from mother to child.
The more scientists study psychosomatic diseases, the more they tend to believe that thyroid diseases arise against the background of psychological blocks and complexes, phobias. As we noted above, the thyroid gland plays a huge role in the human body (it is located at the bottom of the neck, its shape resembles a shield). It secretes thyroxine (thyroid hormone) and calcitonin. If the gland malfunctions, the amount of hormone released may increase or decrease.
Thyrotoxicosis is hyperfunction of the thyroid gland. Hypothyroidism is hypofunction of the thyroid gland. This is the most common deviation. As practice shows, females are more likely to suffer from this disease. The causes of the disease can be anything. In the case of a psychosomatic illness, the causes may be stress, fear, etc.
As a result of long psychological studies, scientists have come to the conclusion that the tendency to thyroid diseases lies in a person’s character.
For some reason, problems with the thyroid gland are more often observed in people who are vulnerable and kind, suspicious and anxious, prone to anxiety with or without reason. Perhaps this is why women are more prone to thyroid diseases, since they are more vulnerable than men.
There is another opinion that explains why women more often suffer from thyroid disorders. The purpose of women is to bring harmony, beauty to the world and, most importantly, to preserve the family hearth, and today's women often forget about their true purpose, trying to move up the career ladder by putting any man in their belt. But the nature of a woman is different. So the body resists such behavior, reminding women of the main thing that they have long forgotten (according to Ayurvedi).
All kinds of psychological attitudes, blocks, complexes and phobias do not pass by. They have a very negative effect on the functioning of the thyroid gland. Contribute to the development of dysfunctions. It will not be difficult to paint a picture of a person prone to psychosomatic thyroid problems.
Factors contributing to the development of diseases can be of all kinds; first of all, these are constant nervous shocks, which can be associated with work, home, and family. And what is most dangerous about such diseases is that the symptoms appear after a long period of time. Treatment is complex, expensive and long-term; it simply cannot proceed without psychotherapy.
Hypothyroidism
This disease usually develops solely for a psychosomatic reason. This is a disease of dissatisfied people:
- Those who cannot fully express, and most importantly, satisfy their every desire.
- These people not only cannot reveal their desires, they are also not able to demonstrate their abilities.
- Due to their psychological constraints, they cannot express themselves to the extent that they are capable of.
- They are simply unable to express their personality.
- The opinion of the environment is incredibly important to them.
- They are simply not able to act contrary to the opinion of society.
- People prone to hypothyroidism simply cannot express their creative insides, they are embarrassed by it.
- These are people with very low self-esteem; it seems to them that they are not worthy of happiness, not smart, and completely ugly.
And as a result, we have hypothyroidism (lack of thyroid hormones). There are two types of hypothyroidism:
Primary develops against the background of pathological changes in the gland. As a result, the thyroid gland cannot work at full capacity and the amount of hormones released is significantly reduced. Secondary hypothyroidism is associated with the functioning of the hypothalamus or pituitary gland and is the result of their disorders.
The main causes of hormonal imbalance in women
Hormonal imbalance in women is not always pathological in nature. Very often, hormonal imbalance occurs at the physiological level. Such disorders do not require medical intervention, as they return to normal on their own over time. Physiological hormonal imbalances include:
- Puberty.
- Pregnancy and childbirth.
- Menopause.
- Genetic predisposition - primary amenorrhea (complete absence of menstruation).
In cases where endocrine disruption in women is not a physiological phenomenon, it is a pathology. The cause of hormonal imbalance can be the following disorders or diseases:
- Sexually transmitted infections
- Frequent viral or infectious diseases
- Thyroid diseases
- Abortion
- Nervous breakdowns
Hormonal imbalance can also be caused by other reasons, which can be determined by the doctor after the results of the examinations.
Causes of hypothyroidism
Hypothyroidism is a well-known psychosomatic disease of the endocrine system. As a rule, women suffer from it. The disease has no age restrictions, but more often you can meet a middle-aged woman who is ill than a young girl. Although in recent years there has been a rejuvenation of the disease. That is, girls and even children are increasingly suffering from psychosomatic hypothyroidism.
There are many, many causes of hypothyroidism. It mainly occurs against the background of immune disorders, which lead to all kinds of inflammation of the gland. But all these diseases are the basis, but its roots lie much deeper. They originate from:
- In deep stress, all kinds of chronic experiences, psychological blocks and clamps.
- It is possible that hypothyroidism may occur due to congenital abnormalities of the thyroid gland.
- Hereditary factors.
- All kinds of surgical interventions concerning the gland.
- Treatment of cancer, as well as irradiation of the body.
- Iodine deficiency, side effects of medications,
- Formations arising on iron and so on.
If we talk about secondary hypothyroidism, then the reasons for its occurrence are slightly fewer. And if we are talking about psychosomatic reasons, then these are all kinds of childhood psychological traumas, lifelong neuroses (the reasons for which are something global). Secondary hypothyroidism does not appear simply out of nowhere; it occurs against the background of inflammation, tumor, and necrosis of the pituitary gland. Secondary hypothyroidism is a more dangerous, complex and difficult to treat psychosomatic disease.
How does the disease progress?
Psychosomatic hypothyroidism is a very insidious disease. Its symptoms do not appear immediately, but only after a long period of time. The thyroid gland produces an insufficient amount of hormones for the body as a result of a shock that happened to a person in childhood or adolescence. But there are also isolated cases when the gland stops coping with its duties much earlier (after six months).
Identifying the symptoms of hypothyroidism is also quite difficult. The first minor symptoms appear only three to four months after the gland stops secreting the required amount of hormones. Patients experience:
- Metabolic disease.
- Malfunctions of the cardiovascular system (possible hypertension, arrhythmias).
- Fatigue, physical lethargy, terrible drowsiness.
- You can often observe slowness that is completely uncharacteristic of previously active and “living” people.
- People with hypothyroidism are forgetful and have a significant decrease in memory.
- Chilliness is very characteristic of the disease; a person freezes even in warm summer weather.
- With hypothyroidism, you can notice a change in the patient's appearance, namely a puffy face, chronic swelling of the eyelids, dry skin of the hands and feet, rough skin of the elbows and knees, significant hair loss (up to 50-70% hair loss is possible).
- Problems also begin from the gastrointestinal tract; constant constipation simply does not allow a person to live in peace, and it is difficult to combat them even with medication.
But against the background of the above problems, a person also develops psychological problems. Lethargy becomes a way of life for a person. It is difficult for him to force himself to do new things. He is accompanied by constant apathy in all endeavors. The bed for a person becomes the main place for spending free time.
Often people attribute such symptoms to laziness, but if such a character trait was not inherent before, then with such symptoms of “laziness” it is better to consult an endocrinologist. There may be disruptions to the menstrual cycle in women. But as for men, psychosomatic hypothyroidism is much more difficult for them to tolerate. For them, it is fraught with potency, which is practically incurable. It is extremely difficult to get rid of it even after healing and restoration of hormonal levels.
Complete lack of treatment is very dangerous, it can lead to death or the development of hypothyroid coma.
Treatment
The final diagnosis of psychosomatic hypothyroidism can only be established by an endocrinologist working in conjunction with a psychotherapist. To diagnose hypothyroidism, you must undergo:
- Blood tests for hormones.
- Biochemical blood tests.
- Ultrasonography.
In case of enlargement or all kinds of formations of the thyroid gland, puncture of the nodes is performed. The procedure is quite simple and almost painless. It is imperative that you contact a psychotherapist at the slightest symptoms of hypothyroidism.
In case of psychosomatic hypothyroidism, the endocrinologist, based on tests, prescribes the use of artificial hormones (the dosage is selected exclusively by a specialist and in no case is changed independently).
The psychotherapist, in turn, must identify the nature of the disease, understand where the roots of the disease are and where they originate. In parallel with medications, a person is simply obliged to undergo a course of anti-stress therapy, because stress is usually the psychosomatic cause.
With psychosomatic hypothyroidism, it is simply necessary to follow all the doctors’ recommendations, take medications strictly according to the schedule, and also try to adhere to the daily routine, moreover, it is advisable to live according to the regime. Follow a diet, normalize your sleep schedule, try to engage in active sports, undergo timely examinations, and most importantly, receive treatment. Follow all instructions of the psychotherapist.
My dear readers, a psychosomatic disease of the endocrine system is a serious problem; the disease is fraught with mental illness, coma, obesity, and baldness. And in some particularly difficult cases, death. At the slightest symptoms, contact a specialist, be vigilant about your health, do not self-medicate or use traditional medicine, in this case it is better to contact highly qualified specialists.
Be healthy!

How to treat hormonal imbalance?
Before treating hormonal imbalance in women, it is necessary to determine its cause. To do this, the doctor prescribes a number of examinations:
- General blood analysis.
- Hormone analysis.
- Ultrasound of internal organs.
- Test for STDs.
The results of the examination will allow the doctor to draw up a complete picture of the disease and determine which hormones need to be brought back to normal.
Treatment of hormonal imbalance is aimed at eliminating the very cause that led to hormonal imbalance and restoring stimulation of the production of the desired hormone. Basically, therapeutic therapy consists of taking medications that will normalize hormones; you also need to adhere to the right lifestyle, diet, and follow all the doctor’s recommendations.
If treatment is not followed, hormonal imbalance may reappear. Taking medications can take several days, months or years. It all depends on the situation and characteristics of the female body.
