Larisa Verbitskaya: “Television is screaming now, but it should carry culture”

Data
  • Born on November 30, 1959 in Crimea, in the city of Feodosia.
  • As a child, I was involved in sports: acrobatics, swimming, scuba diving, diving, and then athletics.
  • Married. Son Maxim is a lawyer. In addition to school, my daughter Inna does ballet and draws.

L.V.: - It would be the greatest audacity on my part to dream of a career as a TV personality! The cosmonaut corps at that time was much larger than the announcer department on Central Television. They were known by name (Aunt Tanya, Aunt Valya, Uncle Volodya), and they looked forward to meeting them on television as if they were family and friends. As a schoolgirl, I dreamed of being a doctor, and my dad saw me as an ambassador of the Soviet Union.

“TV Guide”: — Is that why you studied foreign languages since childhood?

L.V.: - Yes. By the way, my memory has helped me out many times. The most unusual experience I had was conducting concert programs in Arabic in Algeria. Already on the plane, I realized that by accepting the offer to participate in the international festival, I acted, to put it mildly, recklessly and no one really needed my English in the former French colony, and bad French was completely indecent! Then I decided to urgently make translations into Arabic. What a risk I took! But already at a reception at the Russian Embassy in Algeria, the ambassador asked where I learned Arabic? After all, he knew classical Arabic and studied it at MGIMO, and my knowledge was with the Algerian dialect! This was the biggest compliment addressed to me.

TV Guide: - Larisa, tell us about your parents.

L.V.: “I remember, when I was still very little, lying on my mother’s shoulder, I was afraid to interrupt her breathing so as not to disturb her sleep. She always worked very hard, had little rest, her day ended long after midnight, and the house smelled of cleanliness and delicious food. I remember all my mother’s dresses and pumps (I think they cost 47 rubles). In the morning, with a ringing gait, she went to work to help and sympathize with people. She knew war, famine, and an orphanage. In rare moments of her memories, a lump came to her throat, how much she had to endure. I always dreamed of medicine.

Leonid Parfenov: “If the channel is not watched, its existence is meaningless”

I started at medical school. Soon my parents met and I was born to them. Dad dreamed of a daughter, and at the age of five we were already studying Pushkin. As a former military man (who later received the civilian profession of engineer), he instilled in me leadership qualities. From the age of six I was sent to sports. And by the age of 14, I was already playing for the youth team of the republic and showed great promise. In addition to the sporting victories, victories at the Republican Olympiads in English language and literature were added. This made the parents much more happy!

“TV Guide”: - Are you a strict mother? What principles guided you in raising your children?

L.V.: — The main principle is love. There are no uniform rules of education! Does not work! Every child is special. And when diplomacy doesn’t work, vitamin “P” – the belt – helps a lot. In small doses it is even useful.

“TV Guide”: — Did you have to face a difficult teenage period?

L.V.: — Son Maxim, perhaps, did not worry us with his teenage ambitions. On the contrary, he was sympathetic, attentive, and patient. But daughter Inna seemed to be in her teens from birth. Sometimes she wanted to fall into a lethargic sleep and wake up when her children were already at the same transitional age. But, fortunately, everything is behind us!

“TV Guide”: — Did you take part in choosing your son’s profession? Has he ever thought of following in your footsteps?

L.V.: — A creative atmosphere reigned in our family; there were often heated discussions about cinema, television, filming, and we rejoiced at successes. Maxim absorbed everything, was on the set. His father taught him to shoot and take photographs. In ninth grade, Max began to talk seriously about VGIK and the profession of a cinematographer. The 90s, cinema was in decline, film studios filmed almost nothing. I had to use all my diplomatic charms to dissuade Maxim and make a choice in favor of jurisprudence. By the way, he never regretted it, and even succeeded in his career as a lawyer.

TV through the eyes of Otar: Give Spiridonova heavyweights

“TV Guide”: - Do you think a woman should sacrifice her career for her personal life? And have you ever had to face a choice - family or work?

L.V.: - What a misconception that a woman should sacrifice her work, self-realization in social terms! This impoverishes her. I can’t imagine living only in the interests of family and everyday life, turning into a housewife and keeper of the hearth in a dressing gown.

“TV Guide”: - You have an absolutely impeccable reputation, in my opinion, even if you want to find incriminating evidence on you, it will not be possible! How do you do this?

L.V.: - Yes, scandals are not my element. Not interested. Although there are characters whom you don’t feed with bread, just give them a reason to talk about them, and it doesn’t matter how - good or bad.

Larisa Verbitskaya: biography

For many years, Larisa Verbitskaya has been called one of the most stylish TV presenters in the Russian Federation. And this is not surprising, since she is actively interested in fashion, repeatedly participating in television programs as a fashion expert, and is currently the vice-president of the League of Professional Image Makers.

Larisa's many years of experience in matters of style, sports and personal care led to the fact that the presenter began to be invited to programs designed to help women learn to care for themselves. In addition, a rare interview goes without questions about how Verbitskaya manages to keep herself in such amazing shape. The life of Larisa Verbitskaya is a wonderful example of how you can become successful on television without sacrificing your family and saving your energy and strength on your hobby. In 2006, the TV presenter was awarded the title “Honored Artist of Russia.”

Larisa Verbitskaya was born on November 30, 1959 in the Crimean city of Feodosia. The girl’s father was a military man, so the family, at the direction of the leadership, soon moved to Moldova, where Lara grew up and received an education. Young Verbitskaya studied at an English school. This unusual choice was due to the parents’ desire to raise their daughter to be a future diplomat.

As a child and teenager, the presenter was involved in various sports. Interest in this type of activity began with an acrobatics club, which Larisa and her friend signed up for at the age of six. Later she attended swimming, gymnastics and high jump sections. In the latter sport, Verbitskaya achieved considerable success, being for some time a member of the Moldovan youth team.

The parents hoped that their daughter would enter MGIMO, but Larisa assessed her chances more soberly. Verbitskaya knew English well and was going to enter the Institute of Foreign Languages, but she was afraid that she would not pass the competition, and eventually applied to the Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University for the Faculty of Russian Language and Literature. Later Larisa found out that just that year the competition for admission was very small, so she bitterly regretted the missed chance. At that time, the girl did not at all plan to work in the television industry, but, as usual, chance changed everything.

Natural alterations

Today, the TV presenter talks about the renovation in a humorous manner and compares it to theatrical activity.
First there was a rehearsal, then a general run-through, and only after well-organized actions came the premiere. Since Larisa was meticulous about every detail, many things had to be redone several times. And considering that almost all the materials were purchased in Europe, we had to wait quite a long time for re-delivery. As a result, the renovation took three whole years. For example, natural marble was bought in Italy. Each fragment was packed in foam rubber. Delivery was carried out in special containers. The craftsmen did not lay the tiles level, so they had to completely dismantle the finish twice. But this is a unique natural material that is mined in caves. Then, in production, the layers are cut, ground and polished. In addition to the financial costs, a lot of time was spent on repeat orders.

A television

Having almost completed her studies at the university, Verbitskaya learned from her friend about a competition for announcers in the Russian-language segment of Moldovan television. The girl, who loved to try new activities, decided to take part in the selection and, unexpectedly for herself, passed. This is how her career began as a TV presenter on one of the federal channels of Moldova. The girl graduated from high school, already working on television, and subsequently the diploma was not useful to her.

Despite the fact that out of all the applicants, the position was given to Larisa, the presenter was recommended to work on her voice. The diction was all right, but the strength and plasticity of the voice still needed to be developed. She had to work in several programs at the same time, and each one had its own requirements regarding how the presenter should speak. As Larisa Verbitskaya later said in an interview, she was very lucky to fall into the hands of an experienced and skillful teacher who was able to give a quality voice to a beginner.

A year later, Verbitskaya was allowed to conduct news broadcasts. Soon the presenter was given trust unprecedented in Soviet times: Brezhnev died, and the girl was allowed to read the obituary about this politician. The presenter coped with the task, after which they began to take her more seriously on television.

In 1985, Larisa Verbitskaya moved to Moscow, despite the fact that the young TV presenter had serious career prospects in Moldova. In the capital, I again had to go through a difficult competition to get a place in the announcer department of the USSR Central Television. But the ambitious girl again coped with the task brilliantly.

The presenter worked as an announcer for two years, after which she managed to break into the developing segment of morning broadcasting. There Verbitskaya established herself for many years. For more than twenty years she hosted the “Good Morning” program on Channel One, remaining the only one of her colleagues who has been presenting one program for so long. Later, the presenter was invited to various programs of several stylistic directions, ranging from music programs to “Good night, kids.”

Already in 2002, Larisa Verbitskaya was invited to film the third season of the mega-popular reality show “The Last Hero”. And although the presenter, accustomed to comfort, was very wary of this kind of activity, she accepted the offer. The woman subsequently admitted that the show benefited her, as she became better aware of her own capabilities and made new friends, in particular, she became friends with Marina Alexandrova.

The project organizers expected Larisa's imminent departure from the program. The program's psychologists, who called the families of each participant once every three days, said that she would probably be home soon. However, gradually confidence changed into bewilderment, as the fragile blonde showed remarkable willpower and perseverance. Despite the deprivation of all kinds of benefits, swollen legs, mice in the sleeping bag and other troubles, the TV presenter reached the final of the competition and went home just three days before the end of filming. The TV show itself was released on Channel One in 2003.

In 2007, the weekly program “Ice Age” was released, which was also broadcast on Channel One. In this TV show, Larisa had to remember many skills from her sports life in order to quickly and effectively master complex tricks on ice. These efforts were not in vain, and Larisa, together with her partner Povilas Vanagas, quite easily reached the final of the project.

For some time, Larisa Verbitskaya participated in the fashion and style program “Fashionable Sentence”, where she helped participants find their individuality by changing their wardrobe. Now, in addition to the morning program, the presenter appears in commercials, holds various concerts and other special events, and also organizes master classes for her young colleagues.

Larisa Verbitskaya left the Good Morning program in 2014

In 2014, Larisa left Good Morning, which shocked many fans. Together with her, her co-host Boris Shcherbakov left the program. According to rumors, the TV presenters did not leave the program voluntarily; they refused to renew their contract. Verbitskaya does not plan to end her television biography here, but for now Larisa has taken a break from regular work on TV.

TV presenter's favorite bathroom

Larisa initially planned to turn the spacious bathroom into a spa complex. Ideally, the TV presenter wanted to make a real women's paradise here, where you can relax in absolute peace and quiet and slowly get yourself in order.

Opposite the bowl, several large cabinets and a cabinet with a washbasin were installed along the wall. The TV presenter placed all the cosmetics and care products on the shelves and drawers, which, finally, do not bother anyone.

Larisa Verbitskaya now

Today, according to press reports, Verbitskaya works as vice president of the League of Professional Image Makers. The woman creates dietary programs and supervises design projects.

There are many sites on the Internet offering various weight loss systems on behalf of the presenter. According to some sites, she adheres to Shelton’s nutrition system, while others – which combines separate and fractional meals. But the sites do not have reliable evidence that Larisa is on a specific diet.

Such attention to the TV presenter’s routine and diet is not accidental. Larisa doesn't look her age at all. At her real age of 57, she looks a little older than 30, and the presenter has managed to maintain an excellent figure: with a height of 170 cm, her weight is only 52 kg.

Evil tongues claim that the presenter’s “eternal youth” is the merit of plastic surgery. But Larisa herself confirms only one surgical intervention - an injection of hyaluronic acid into the neck. The woman posted a photo immediately after the procedure on her official Instagram. The operation gave an unsuccessful result, which did not go away for a month, and is unlikely to inspire the presenter to further experiments with plastic surgery.

Not only online sources are interested in Larisa Verbitskaya’s recipes and advice. The presenter willingly attends various television shows, where she personally talks about her lifestyle.

In 2020, the TV presenter conducted a whole series of “Lessons from Larisa Verbitskaya” as part of Elena Malysheva’s “Health” program. During each small lesson in her section, the presenter covered various beauty secrets that help her stay in shape: how to wake up, what kind of gymnastics to do, how to eat and many others.

In February 2020, Verbitskaya became a guest of the culinary program “Smak”. During the program, the TV presenter shared with viewers a recipe for pasta with pesto sauce and vegetables and her daughter’s signature dish - pear crumble. During the cooking process itself, the woman several times emphasized why and how the selected dishes would be useful. In parallel with cooking, Larisa spoke about her views on raising children and did exercises for her voice.

Personal life

The TV presenter does not like to remember her first husband and does not even mention his name again. She says that at that period of her life she had long ago given up a big cross, since her husband was jealous of her work and at one point gave her an ultimatum. From her first marriage, Larisa had a son, Maxim, whom the presenter took with her to her parents’ apartment. Since then, father and son have hardly seen each other. Maxim Larisa’s parents helped her raise, and the TV presenter herself says that his military grandfather became an excellent example of a man and a role model for his grandson.

Larisa Verbitskaya with her son

Verbitskaya met her second husband at the circus, where she took her son to a performance. Alexander Dudov immediately found a common language with Maxim, which won Larisa’s heart. The romance in the epistolary genre lasted a year: the TV presenter and the cameraman wrote letters to each other, communicating as “you,” and then Verbitskaya packed her things, took her son and moved to her lover in Moscow. In 1990, the couple had a long-awaited daughter, who was named Inna.

The TV presenter talks a lot and willingly about her children. Maxim trained as a lawyer and is now very successful in this industry. Previously, the young man was interested in camera work and photography, but in the end he decided that he wanted to engage in less creative activities.

Verbitskaya’s daughter has been a creative person since childhood, despite her illness. At an early age, the girl had frequent health problems, so for a long time the family lived based on her problems and needs. Inna started drawing early and later became interested in ballet. She is very kind to pets, and she literally infected her mother with her love for horses. In more than one interview, Larisa repeats that she is happy to have such an amazing and strong family. And here you can take my word for it: not every couple is able to live in peace and harmony for many years, celebrating their silver wedding.

The presenter does not try to hide her family life from fans and the press. She willingly takes part in various programs dedicated to the personal lives of stars. In 2014, Verbitskaya became the heroine of the show “Alone with Everyone” with Yulia Menshova, where she told viewers that there was complete harmony in her relationship with her husband.

In 2020, the TV presenter became a participant in the series of family portrait programs “Wife. Love story". Larisa spoke about her explosive and difficult character and how her family learned to get along with him.

Original design project ideas

The apartment had a few negatives, such as a small window in the living room. Larisa Verbitskaya was worried that there would not be enough natural light in the room. The designer offered an excellent solution: to minimize the number of interior doors and complement the design with glass and mirror inserts. Thanks to this idea, the light will flow smoothly through the rooms without obstacles and be reflected from glossy surfaces.

To illuminate a small hallway, in addition to the central chandelier, we hung classic sconces with crystal pendants on a gilded frame

At first, the family was happy with the loggia, but over time the TV presenter saw how much garbage appeared on it. There was also a strong wind at the height, which did not allow us to create a cozy seating area. Therefore, it was decided to glaze the loggia and arrange a real winter garden in it.

The craftsmen installed high-quality five-chamber double-glazed windows in the loggia, insulated the surfaces and laid a heated floor. Finally, Larisa Verbitskaya’s dream of a winter garden has come true; now she has a cozy tea corner surrounded by blooming geraniums here in winter.

Translucent roller blinds were installed on the double-glazed windows, protecting the loggia from the bright sun. The TV presenter decided to abandon standard radiators in favor of floor convectors. Along the perimeter of each room there are decorative grilles through which air exchange occurs. This idea was proposed by Larisa Verbitskaya’s son, and the designer gladly brought it to life.

In the tea corner on the loggia they placed a small round table made of solid wood with a lace tablecloth
