Idols of the 90s: who we went crazy about and what happened to the stars of the past now

Popularity and success can turn the heads of not only budding stars, but also those who have been around show business for a long time. At the beginning of a career, a celebrity enjoys the success it brings. Then the thirst for achieving greater heights opens. Popularity is beginning to overshadow reality. The rising star begins to idealize his desires and dreams, but ultimately faces disappointment. The result is a fall into the abyss. A celebrity begins to associate his life with alcohol, drugs, bad companies, or simply begins to behave provocatively. Creativity fades into the background. Instead of fame and money comes a creative crisis. Let's see which stars were popular and then fell down.

Rolled American men

Shia LaBeouf

Shia LaBeouf is known to many for his role as Sam Witwicky in the Transformer trilogy. He was a charming and calm man only in the movies, but in life he is a completely different person. Numerous fights, accidents and scandalous antics - that’s what his fans remember now.

When the peak of his career came, that is, after filming “Transformers,” the actor was invited to audition for other films. He played excellently in the film Indiana Jones, but after his stunning success, he was increasingly noticed drunk. It is noteworthy that his license was taken away for driving while intoxicated. That's not all. Shia came to various film premieres in an inadequate form. Either he will put a bag over his head, or he will cut his face with a knife. Mental illness or depressing fame - it is not yet clear what makes the actor go crazy...

Spring exacerbation or dizziness from success? Nervous breakdown or games of a drugged mind? We don't know what exactly drove our heroes crazy. but we are sure of one thing: these guys should be bypassed in a curved arc. Amanda Bynes

Stars gone crazy

Bynes was called one of the most promising American actresses of the early 2000s. Having started her career at the age of 13, she quickly skyrocketed: she began hosting her own comedy show, and then became the star of the comedies “She’s the Man,” “What a Girl Wants,” and “Love on the Island.” But in this role the actress felt a little cramped: Amanda wanted to realize herself in the dramatic genre, but no one offered her serious roles. Apparently that's why in 2010 Amanda announced her retirement. And then her own life began to develop not at all according to the comedy scenario. It all started with the arrest of the actress in her Manhattan apartment after neighbors complained about her. According to them, the girl often rolled a joint right in the entrance hall and talked to herself. Amanda met the police squad extremely unfriendly, which was the reason to send her for a psychiatric examination. The actress went to the hospital wearing a huge platinum wig, as if she had scalped a life-size Barbie doll (Bines then dyed her own hair pink). Later she ended up in police custody for drunk driving and was accused of drug use. Amanda almost burned down her apartment and tried to set fire to someone else's house, walked around the neighborhood in her underwear, and came to court hearings in old, tangled wigs. In July 2013, at the insistence of her parents, the girl was sent to a psychiatric clinic, where she spent a year, and then moved under the care of her mother. Now the girl has not been heard from. Valery Nikolaev

Stars gone crazy
The half-forgotten actor suddenly became a news hero, but not because of an unusual new role. Nikolev faces up to 10 years in prison for disorderly conduct, a car accident and resisting arrest. Last week, the star of the TV series “Bourgeois’s Birthday” hit a woman at a pedestrian crossing, after which he went into hiding for a day. Law enforcement officers managed to detain Valery only when he provoked another accident: he drove onto the sidewalk and damaged several cars, including a police car. Later it became known that the day before the actor staged a pogrom at an auto center on Taganka. Service employees said that on February 23, Valery came to pick up the car. “His car had punctured tires, and there was also a sticker that said, ‘I don’t care about anyone - I park where I want,’” LifeNews quotes the employee. Nikolaev asked to rent another car, but, having left the salon’s territory, he knocked down a road sign, then returned to the salon, left the scratched car and left. After some time, Valery returned to the auto center driving a different car. The police who responded to the call asked him to show his documents, but the actor began driving around the service area and crashed two more cars. Colleagues of Nikolaev, who is now under arrest, assure journalists that the culprit is not alcohol or drugs, but... stress due to lack of roles! Kanye West

Stars gone crazy
Kanye was always laughed at for being overly self-confident. Even before his marriage to Kim Kardashian, Kanye called himself “the first rock star on the entire planet” and a harbinger of revolution, and this inspired his fans so much that they published the text of the first book of the Old Testament, replacing references to God with West’s name! But after marriage, “the greatest star of our time” seems to have completely gone off the rails. Lately, the rapper has been doing inexplicable things one after another. Kanye began comparing himself to historical figures (“I’m 50% more influential than Stanley Kubrick, the Apostle Paul, fucking Picasso and Escobar. Dead or alive, I’m more influential than anyone in the world. And will be for the next thousand years. Don’t mess with me.” ), then admitted that he went into the red, owing banks $53 million, and asked for a loan from Mark Zuckerberg. “Mark Zuckerberg, I know it’s your birthday today, but could you call me before tomorrow? Mark, I am publicly asking for help,” Kanye tweeted. Zuckerberg didn’t call, and Kanye once again decided to take it out on poor Taylor Swift, who for some unknown reason regularly becomes a victim of Kanye’s evil attacks. Some critics suggest the musician is on the verge of a nervous breakdown, fueled by low interest in his fashion collections and the failure of his latest "greatest in the world" album, The Life Of Pablo. Insiders say that the Kardashian family, and in particular Kim, are persuading West to turn to specialists. Vasily Stepanov

Stars gone crazy
Last year, the story of Stepanov’s fall attracted attention to the actor just as it did in 2008, when Fyodor Bondarchuk’s “Inhabited Island” was released. According to actor friends, young Vasily “broke”, starting his film career immediately with the leading role in such a major project. Stepanov, who had not yet developed a thick skin and was susceptible to criticism, began to be sensitive to refusals at subsequent castings and often canceled auditions himself, thinking at the last moment. Stepanov complained about the lack of work, but often set up his colleagues, who arranged auditions for him out of friendship. According to his ex-fiancee, the reason for his failure is manic depression, which was diagnosed by doctors. Now 30-year-old Vasily lives in a Khrushchev building with his parents and occasionally gives interviews about his fate. “They won’t take me anywhere. I was offered to star in a video in Germany, but I don’t have a passport. I’m looking for any job, I even tried to get a job in the police,” Vasily complained in an interview with Super.ru. After such frank confessions, producers, journalists, psychologists and psychics reached out to Vasya, but Stepanov was not interested in any of his proposals. The former actor was never hired by the police, and he has no desire to “beg around Ostankino”: “I’d better ask my grandparents, and they’ll send me out of retirement.” Alexey Panin

Stars gone crazy
Once upon a time there lived a young charismatic actor Alexei Panin, who became famous for the films “Down House”, “Don’t Even Think”, “Dead Man’s Bluff”. And then he started rowdying in restaurants all over the country: in Tuapse he destroyed a hotel bar, in Vyazniki he broke dishes, committed petty hooliganism in the cities of Svobodny and Blagoveshchensk, and ran around naked in Belogorsk. After completing his destructive tour, the actor admitted to bisexuality and then began a battle with his ex-wife over custody of their daughter. The funniest joke about Panin’s adventures goes like this: “While we admire DiCaprio, somewhere Alexey Panin is sleeping in a horse not for the sake of awards.”

"Star-struck" Russian celebrities

Panin Alexey

The Russian actor, known for the film “Star,” now bears the “cross” of one of the most scandalous actors in Russian show business. He ended up in police stations many times, participated in fights, pogroms, accidents, and also behaved provocatively in public. His “scandalous activities” began in 2011, when he started a fight in one of the cafes. The famous actor did not like that he was not allowed into the establishment without waiting in line.

Alcohol completely clouded the actor’s brain. In a state of alcoholic intoxication, he almost destroyed the plane flying from Simferopol to Moscow. Many media outlets discussed this incident, but this did not stop Panin, but rather encouraged him to create new “achievements.”

In 2020, he allowed himself to be naked in front of a huge public. A video has appeared online in which Panin walks down the street in underwear and a dog collar. When asked by the audience why and how, the actor answered evasively. Allegedly, this video is “banter” and was filmed for personal use.

Natalia Bochkareva

Natalya Bochkareva is known to viewers for her role as Dasha Bukina in the sitcom “Happy Together.” The sultry and charming actress still delights viewers with small roles in films. No one would have thought that a famous actress would derail her life...

Most recently, she was caught red-handed when drugs were found in the actress’s possession. Natalya denies that she uses and possesses drugs. However, the video clearly shows that it is she who is being detained. They wanted to sentence the actress to three years in prison, but she managed to get off with a fine.

A career as a superstar is tempting, but it's important to stay sane and not fall into bad habits. Celebrities often make mistakes in their lives, but some get out of it with dignity, while others, on the contrary, are dragged into the swamp of sensationalism and scandals. Time will tell if these stars have changed their habits. And now all that remains is to watch your beloved celebrities.

Chapter 1

Listening to the measured clicking of the heels of new expensive shoes, I confidently approached the small conference room. And I was in a hurry not at all because the boss was waiting there for my humble person. I was spurred on by ordinary human curiosity. After all, it wasn’t every day that they wanted to talk to me alone in the conference room. As a rule, the whole department invited us there.

It should be said that I work at the Intergalactic Translation Center. Just a year ago, getting a job here was my most cherished dream. I couldn’t even think that I could achieve this without any cronyism. But it turned out that, at the end of the three-month pre-graduate internship that I took at this Center, I was almost immediately offered a position as a junior translator. No one explained the reason for their interest in me, no one commented on my level of knowledge, they simply put a plastic contract on the table in front of me and said: “Read it and, if you are satisfied with everything, put your finger on the blue circle below.” That’s how I unexpectedly started my career at MCP.

The first two months I worked for practically nothing. I was assigned the most simple tasks, sometimes even simply ridiculous ones. That’s why the salary was not encouraging. There was barely enough money to pay for utilities and food. But from the third month everything went smoothly. Things became more interesting, and the pay was much higher. Finally, I was able to buy myself a pair of decent suits. And after four months, I became the happy owner of a pair of new designer shoes, which I didn’t even dare to dream about six months ago. Call it my little fetish - I go crazy over the sight of chic shoes. And I begin to evaluate each of my clients from the bottom up - from the feet. Yes, this criterion is indicative for me. I can tell a lot about the inhabitants of our galaxy by looking at their shoes. I think this is why it is difficult for me to build a serious relationship with a man. Only a very few free males can boast of strong intelligence, good looks and “excellent” shoes. But don't think it's just about price. Not at all. Even inexpensive shoes can be worn in such a way that the fashionistas around you will never be able to determine their real cost. It's about the attitude towards shoes and the ability to wear them.

And it was in my brand new chic shoes that I now confidently walked up to the door to the small conference room, boldly knocked and, having waited for the invitation, stepped into the room with anticipation. I had a feeling that today would be an interesting day. Surely my long-awaited shoes will become a lucky talisman for me.

I noticed my boss, Sheba Xylon Tii, right away. He, as usual, sat at the head of the table. And you must admit, the bright green hair that was a characteristic feature of Tia’s coven was hard to miss. The Sheba were generally quite a colorful race. Tall, flexible, humanoid. The only thing that bothered me was their extraordinary thinness and yellow snake eyes with black vertical pupils. Having a rather appetizing bottom, at first I felt terribly complex in the presence of skinny sheba. But over time I got used to it. And when I found out about the traditions of representatives of this race, I began to be pleased with the fact that male Sheba did not find me attractive enough. They were famous for their terrible egocentrism and absolute polygamy. The Shebas never thought about fidelity and marriage vows. They did not make love, but copulated to relieve tension after a tiring day at work. Family unions were created exclusively by agreement on mutually beneficial terms. There was no talk of any feelings. In this regard, the number of illegally born Sheba cubs increased every year. But the parents didn't care. They immediately after birth sent their offspring to specialized institutions, regardless of whether the baby was born in marriage or not. The parental syndrome in the Shebas was completely atrophied.

“Hello, Shania,” Xylon Tii turned to me. - Take a seat.

I said hello, shooting a fleeting glance at everyone present, and hurried to take the chair offered to me on the left hand of the boss next to our lawyer, Sheb Bin Tii. An exciting feeling ran through my veins. There were two strangers in the hall. I haven’t had time to look at them yet, but I immediately felt a strong wave of interest from that side.

Having made myself comfortable, I looked up at Xylon. He looked at me somehow uncertainly, as if he was deciding where to start the conversation. And then suddenly, from strangers, I heard something that echoed in me with an accelerated heartbeat.

- Good afternoon, Ela Shania.

And it wasn’t the address or the timbre of the voice. The language and pronunciation shocked me. Manulsky. My mother's native language. I warily glanced at the two strangers sitting opposite me and froze. Two men. Their appearance could not fail to impress. Very tall, powerfully built, dark, black-haired, with rough facial lines. They were dressed in some kind of black suits or overalls, with turquoise accents. But most of all I was fascinated by the eyes - there was deep darkness in them. My heart sank for a moment and then throbbed painfully in my chest. This darkness reminded me of my mother. She was a purebred Pallas' cat. I have never met any other representatives of this race... until today...

- Shania?! — Xylon turned to me a little nervously, reminding me that the room was waiting for my answer.

As if waking up, she tried to put her thoughts and feelings in order.

“Good afternoon...” I answered in Manul, pausing at the end because I didn’t know how to address two strangers.

The eyes of the younger one, it seemed to me, suddenly sparkled, as if shimmering. A very interesting sight, I want to tell you. I had already forgotten about this feature of Pallas's eyes.

“I am El Trixen Jaad,” this deep voice belonging to the young Pallas cat addressed me again. - And next to me is El Marsen Siar. We'd like to talk to you a little. Do you mind?

“Of course I don’t mind,” I answered more confidently.

—Have you been to Jerre?

The name of the planet made me tense again. It was from there that my mother was unceremoniously expelled 26 years ago.

- No, I haven’t.

— Was your mother a purebred Pallas cat?

This casual question opened up some kind of wound in my heart. Although my mind recorded the fact that Trixen Jaad accurately determined which of my parents was a native Manulian. I wonder how he guessed right?!

- Why are you sure that this is the mother and not the father? — she asked the question before she had time to think whether it was worth doing.

Trixen Jaad's eyes sparkled again, and his partner's eyebrows went up. I'm glad Xylon Tii didn't speak Manul. Otherwise he would have given me a hard time right now. I should not ask potential clients questions without their prior permission.

“That’s impossible,” the young Manul answered sharply.

Curiosity was burning inside me, but I decided not to openly express it... yet. I am sure that soon, with a favorable outcome of the deal, I will be able to find out many new facts about the mysterious Manulians and their planet.

Mom rarely talked about her homeland and former compatriots, so this race remained very mysterious to me. Very little was known about their way of life in general. And only a very limited number of people spoke Manul on our planet. I think it was my command of the Manul language at a high level that was the factor thanks to which I received a place at the Intergalactic Translation Center. I don’t remember that anyone else in our department spoke Manul.

“Shania, you didn’t answer,” El Trixen Jaad reminded himself.

- Yes you are right. My mother was a purebred Pallas cat.
