“Deer Eye”: how to create makeup in the style of Audrey Hepburn

Makeup in the style of Audrey Hepburn

The content of the article:

Movie stars unwittingly become the idols of millions and each of them is unique in their own way. Note that each beautiful actress is different from the others, as she managed to emphasize her individuality.

It’s not difficult to replicate Audrey Hepburn’s makeup exactly; you just need to carefully study her photo. However, try to maintain your individuality, because this is what makes you stand out from the crowd.

By the way, Audrey Hepburn cannot be called a classic beauty. As a teenager, the girl suffered from excessive thinness.

The actress's facial features are rather irregular - this is easy to notice in the photo without makeup. But the actress managed to turn her shortcomings into advantages with the help of competent makeup.

Foundation

Makeup in the style of Audrey Hepburn begins with applying foundation. The skin must be cleansed and moisturized - this is a prerequisite for obtaining an even complexion. If there are cosmetic defects (pimples, redness, unevenness), they are masked in advance with a special corrector. The foundation tone should be as close to your skin color as possible.

You can set the foundation with light loose powder, which you apply just a little bit.

Audrey Hepburn's eyebrows

Today, wide, thick eyebrows are in fashion. If you analyze the photo of the star, you will notice that makeup artists always completed the actress’s already thick eyebrows, and the makeup looked quite natural.

The shape of Audrey Hepburn's eyebrows is almost straight, without bends. The upper part of the eyebrows is completed with a pencil or shadows.

Audrey Hepburn's eyes

The actress's eyes are naturally large and framed by thick, dark eyelashes. To properly highlight the shape of your eyes and make it look like the shape of a movie star’s eyes, arm yourself with a dark brown or black pencil. Draw a neat line along the upper eyelid (from the inner to the outer corner), making the line thicker towards the outer corner and lifting it up. The lower eyelid also needs to be emphasized.

If the eyes are large and round, then the upper and lower arrows should connect - so the shape will become almond-shaped. But if the eyes are naturally small, then the arrows cannot be connected.

Makeup like Audrey Hepburn uses plain eyeshadow in natural shades. During the day, apply pale pink or gray shadows. For evening makeup, you can add dark brown shadows. The space under the eyebrow is highlighted.

An important point: above the cheekbones, upward and to the sides, light eye shadow should be applied with light movements.

Eyelashes are painted with black mascara. If desired, you can use false eyelashes.

Blush and lip makeup

Use the most natural shades. Apply blush to the protruding part of the cheekbones and blend upwards towards the temples.

Using a lip pencil or liner, align the contour so that the upper and lower lips are the same in thickness. The surface of the lips is painted over with the same pencil. In principle, we can stop there, since Audrey Hepburn practically did not use pearlescent lipsticks and did not apply gloss. If you want to highlight your lips brighter, use matte lipstick.

To complete the makeup, lightly dust the face with loose powder.

Kylie Jenner

The model handles contouring no worse than her older sister, and maybe even better. It’s not for nothing that she runs her own website about beauty and produces popular lipsticks. In makeup, according to the Kardashian family, there is no word “too”: an abundance of foundation, concealer, highlighter, false eyelashes, nude lipstick and sculptor will make you Cinderella for the whole night.

PS Like Cinderella, after the party it’s better to immediately run home and wash off your makeup.

American actress Audrey Hepburn is rightfully considered one of the most beautiful women of the 20th century. Films with her participation have long become classics of cinema, and the image of an unpredictable coquette forever settled in the hearts of the fairer sex, who, regardless of age, dream of looking young and charming.

Of course, nature generously endowed Audrey Hepburn with beauty, giving her the correct oval face, plump lips and very expressive eyes with a slight mischief. However, without the right makeup, she would hardly have been able to look so elegant and flawless on screen. Fortunately. The Audrey Hepburn style makeup technique is no secret, and any woman who wants to make a lasting impression on others can use it.

How to create Audrey Hepburn's makeup - thick eyebrows and black arrows

Audrey Hepburn is still the main standard of beauty and femininity for many girls. Many people remember Audrey’s expressive makeup, which many girls try to replicate.

Audrey Hepburn's makeup highlights:

- thick, clear eyebrows

- black arrows

- thickly painted lush eyelashes

- neat lip contour

Audrey Hepburn makeup step by step

  • 1. Even out skin tone and make it uniform

To do this, apply the foundation all over your face with a flat brush, then mask the dark spots under the eyes with concealer.

  • 2. Remove shine from the face

We remove shine from the face with mineral powder, lightly applying it to the surface of the skin with a fluffy brush.

  • 3. Create the shape of the eyebrows

Audrey Hepburn's eyebrows are well defined and very wide. To create this shape, you will need an angled brush, a regular plastic card and dark matte shadows.

Using a brush and shadows, draw an eyebrow shape like Audrey's. Plastic card will help create a smooth edge.

Then comb the hairs well to fill in all the gaps so that the eyebrow appears uniform.

  • 4. Doing eye makeup

To open up the look, apply white shadows to the entire upper eyelid and carefully blend with a brush.

Cover the upper crease of the eyelid with gray shadows, creating a light haze.

Then we emphasize the upper line of the eyeball - using a beveled flat brush along the upper line of the eyeball we apply dark red shadows.

Apply gray shadows to the inner lower eyelid.

Using black liquid eyeliner, draw a line along the upper lash line. At the same time, we thicken the line of the inner corner of the eye - this makes the eyes more round.

  • 5. Create lush eyelashes

Apply generous amounts of black mascara to your eyelashes and glue bunches of false eyelashes to the outer corners of your eyes.

  • 6. Making the nose sharper

To visually make the nose sharper, darken the wings of the nose at the outer edge of the nostrils with dark shadows and shade it.

Audrey's lips are not very big. Therefore, if you have large lips, you need to visually reduce them.

To hide the natural contour of the lips, apply concealer to the lips and shade it.

Using a dark pink pencil, draw a new outline.

Apply soft pink lip gloss over the pencil.

Makeup base

Modern cosmetics manufacturers offer a huge selection of makeup bases. The most popular option today is concealer, which perfectly hides signs of fatigue and dark circles under the eyes. It is usually applied to the upper and lower eyelids. If there is no such product, then light or flesh-colored shadows, as well as powder, are suitable as a base.

What is the base for? It ensures a more even application of the liner, making the line clear and bright. The look becomes expressive and effective.

Eyebrows of stars - the secrets of the look of Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn

Marilyn Monroe, Ingrid Bergman, Audrey Hepburn are not just actresses and beauties, but real style icons. They were imitated in the 40-50s of the 20th century, and they are imitated now. And not only when it comes to clothes and makeup. The eyebrows of actresses from the golden Hollywood era also deserve close attention!

Marilyn Monroe - eyebrows in the form of a sharp arch

The name Marilyn Monroe has long become synonymous with femininity. A blonde with sensual forms is the standard of attractiveness! But while the soft curves of the body looked great on the screen, the too soft facial features seemed expressionless. By nature, Marilyn did not have very pronounced cheekbones - and this is where the skill of an eyebrow artist came to the rescue. Eyebrows in the shape of pointed arches give the face the necessary sculpture and compensate for the softness of the cheekbones.

Hedy Lamarr – rounded eyebrows

Hedy Lamarr is a unique girl. Not only a successful actress from the golden Hollywood era, but also an inventor - in 1942, she patented a system that allows for remote control of torpedoes. She had raven-black hair and a face with a sharply defined forehead. Therefore, all her life Hedy preferred a soft, rounded eyebrow shape - it made her face more open and gentle.

Katharine Hepburn - long ponytail eyebrows

Katharine Hepburn is one of the brightest stars of her generation and has been nominated for an Academy Award 12 times, more than any other actor or actress in history. Eyebrows in the style of Katharine Hepburn are eyebrows with an elongated tail, as if it were “finished” with a pencil towards the upper tip of the ear. This technique allows you to visually “raise” the corners of your eyes and add dramatic expressiveness to your face. Just don’t be too zealous if you decide to repeat it, after all, you’re doing makeup for life, not for the stage!

Ingrid Bergman - natural eyebrows with short tips

It would seem that eyebrows in the “I didn’t do anything to them” style are a modern trend. But in fact, such eyebrows came into fashion back in the 40s of the 20th century thanks to actress Ingrid Bergman. Do you want the same? Then do the correction not every 6 weeks, but after eight - let the hairs grow properly. Comb your hair with a round brush in an upward direction - and you're done! And if your eyebrows are still too sparse compared to Ingrid’s, use a special pencil or tinting gel - after coloring, the eyebrows will look visually thicker and denser.

Veronica Lake - super pointed eyebrows

Veronica Lake is a real Hollywood siren, a sexy blonde that millions of men dreamed of. It was she who introduced the fashion for long hair covering one eye and eyebrows with a sharp, characteristic curve. This eyebrow shape declares: this is a real femme fatale! By the way, pay attention: the highest point of the eyebrow is at the level of the middle of the eye, and therefore the tail of the eyebrow lengthens - and this gives the face sophistication and aristocracy.

Audrey Hepburn - almost straight thick eyebrows

Audrey Hepburn is not just an actress, but a whole cultural phenomenon. Who didn’t empathize with her heroines in the films “Roman Holiday” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”? Audrey's eyebrows are almost straight, with a barely noticeable bend, and very thick. It is thanks to their straight shape that they look delicate and do not weigh down the face. But keep in mind that this shape only suits those who, like Audrey Hepburn, were lucky enough to be born with high cheekbones and an expressive chin.

Gene Tierney - sculpted eyebrows

Gene Tierney is one of the most beautiful actresses of the 40s. Her eyebrows look like they were first plucked to move the highest point closer to the center, then powdered to add density to the brows, and then defined with a pencil. With such eyebrows, you are doomed to attract everyone's attention, and what else does a real star need? If you intend to replicate Gene Tierney's makeup, use a double-ended eyeshadow pencil. First, tighten the eyebrow line with shadows, and then carefully line it with a pencil. Finally, smooth the hairs with a round brush.

Ava Gardner - natural eyebrows

Actress Ava Gardner was said to have “the body of a goddess and the face of an angel.” And an important detail of this face are the eyebrows! Ava’s eyes are naturally large, beautifully almond-shaped - they are already quite noticeable and do not need additional “decorations”. That's why Ava preferred natural-shaped eyebrows. But a natural shape does not mean that you need to forget about makeup completely. Use a pencil in a natural shade to make your eyebrows look fuller.

Makeup in the style of Audrey Hepburn reviews – Di_Va Beauty World

Hello!
One of my favorite idols is Audrey Hepburn. Since childhood I have been watching films with her participation. Her image, style, demeanor—in general, everything—is inspiring. I like everything without exception. I’ll try to repeat her image:

Even at the very beginning, when I was just starting to be interested in makeup, I often watched photo and video tutorials in the style of some star. And often I was outraged that the makeup was different from the original one. And only over time came the understanding that in order to repeat the makeup exactly you need to have exactly the same eyes, color type, and preferably exactly the same face. Therefore, makeup “in style” does not imply exact copying. It is rather an adaptation of the main elements of the image to suit your appearance so that the image becomes recognizable.

So what are the main details of Audrey's makeup? Firstly, wide eyebrows to spread out. Secondly, very beautiful slanted eyes. Her eyes are amazingly shaped and they define the image. Thirdly, a clearly defined face and pronounced cheekbones. I would like to immediately note that her style can be analyzed in detail, each image separately. But we are only looking at makeup in this case.

What I really like about her is that despite her profession, she did not change the existing imperfections in her appearance for the sake of fashion. Although at that time this was already accepted.

So, let's begin. Brows. Her eyebrows are wide and scattered. They are quite straight and the outer edge of the eyebrow is deliberately drawn upward.

Please note that the eyebrow itself is not so wide and the tail points down. Everything is completed with makeup. So I will do the same thing, but within the framework of my eyebrows. Without fanaticism, so that it doesn’t look funny

Let's move on to the eyes. Please note that all her makeup is done with matte textures. It is important. I apply nude eyeshadow from the 22 atelier palette to the eyelid and put a light highlight under the eyebrow and in the corner of the eye.

Then I take the 4th shade from the same palette, taupe (we know from the makeup artists’ notes from filming that this particular color was used) and apply it to the crease of the eyelid. I shade it. Notice that the color settles in the crease, but the line rises slightly in the outer corner of the eye.

Add a shadow to a third of the eye on the lower eyelid

Now we draw an arrow. This is where the most interesting and difficult part is. Audrey used a classic wing that is very thin at the beginning and wide from the middle. Just draw the same one. Happened? Congratulations, you have the exact same eye shape. For everyone else, including me, it “just” ended. Since the outer corner of my eye is not raised, like Audrey’s, and the eye itself is quite wide, and the task is to make it slanted, I will draw the arrow from the highest place on the eyelid. The line should be straight and sharp. Please note that the arrow will be shortened. It will not reach the outer corner of the eye and will go up sharply, almost perpendicularly. This is the only way I can raise my eyes. I also draw the inner mucous membrane of the eyelid from above.

You will have to practice quite a bit on this arrow.

Then I add eyelashes. Be sure to apply false ones in the corner of the eye. Without them, you don’t have to start this image. And I draw the lower mucous membrane of the eyelid with a light pencil. I have a MAC NC15/NW20. Some paint in white, but I like this one better. This adds a fresh look and makes the eye appear wider.

We definitely pay attention to corrections. We draw cheekbones. It is important. Please note that I draw not only the cheekbones, but also the contour of the face. I only use matte concealer and highlighter. I slightly raise my cheekbones to make my face more graceful. I add Mac Rosy Outlook blush.

I apply Collistar Art Design shade 1 Cameo on my lips.

Notice the arrow retreats from the outer edge of the eye by a millimeter and goes sharply upward. Do not shade the shadows beyond the arrow.

Twiggy, Greta Garbo and Brigitte Bardot: beauty icons for all time

Josephine Baker

The singer, dancer, actress and civil activist in the 30s came up with a look that was quite shocking for her era: a glossy, sleek bob, dark lips and thick smokey eyes. Thanks to her originality and spectacular makeup, she became a beauty icon and took part in advertising campaigns for brands such as Helena Rubinstein and Chanel. It was Coco Chanel who introduced the fashion for tanning in that era, and Baker’s glowing, caramel skin tone can rightfully be considered the standard of this trend.

Greta Garbo

Greta Garbo was famous not only for her flawless, smooth skin and perfect cheekbones, but also for her extraordinary, expressive eyes. She learned to highlight them effectively with makeup: she applied Vaseline to her eyelids, covered it with powder, and then shaded dark shadows in the crease of the eyelid and added black eyeliner along the contour. As a result, the actress created a strict and laconic image that never went out of fashion.

Marilyn Monroe

The actress, who became a symbol of sensual femininity, made popular a huge number of beauty trends that are still relevant today. The main elements of her image were fresh, glowing skin, winged eyebrows, thin curved arrows, false eyelashes on the corners of the eyes. It was the false eyelashes in combination with the arrows that gave her look a soft languor. Sometimes the actress's makeup artist, Allan "Whitey" Snyder, would add a thin line of brown pencil to her makeup on the lower eyelid, creating the effect of a shadow cast by heavy, thick eyelashes. Until now, the image of Marilyn Monroe is considered one of the most copied in the world.

Audrey Hepburn

The fragile Audrey Hepburn with huge eyes and a wide, sincere smile remains a symbol of femininity and elegance for all time. Throughout her career, the actress worked with Italian makeup artist Alberto de Rossi, who came up with Hepburn's signature makeup: thickly colored eyelashes in several layers, carefully separated from each other. Another sign of the actress’s iconic image were her wide eyebrows.

Brigitte Bardot

Contrary to the rounded eye shape that was fashionable in the 50s, Brigitte Bardot preferred to make long black arrows with a raised tip, which she complemented with shadows shaded towards the temples. In her lip makeup, Bardot achieved sensual volume using a nude pencil.

Twiggy

In the 60s, the image of Twiggy with wide eyes and a trusting look conquered the entire fashion world. A short haircut with a side parting, bangs laid on the side, an emphasis on the eyes in makeup - her look became the perfect embodiment of the fashion style (British youth subculture of the 50s).

To create the make-up, Twiggy used false eyelashes on the upper eyelid and drew them on the lower eyelid with a black pencil.

Grace Jones

An icon of the 70s and 80s, Grace Jones today symbolizes provocation, an unconventional and tough approach to beauty and androgyny. Pity-Paul Goude described Grace's style as "a mixture of intimidation and beauty." The characteristic elements of her image are a short geometric haircut, flashy makeup and draping.

Liza Minnelli

The defining role for Liza Minnelli was the eccentric Sally Bowles from the film Cabaret. The key elements of this character's style were a short 1920s-style haircut, black eye liner, long false eyelashes and a fly.

When it comes to makeup, Lisa still emphasizes her eyes with black eyeliner and long false eyelashes, wears brightly colored clothes, and keeps her hair short.

Lauren Hutton

The '70s model, who has appeared on the cover of Vogue a record 27 times, has gained popularity for her gap teeth, freckles, blush and light tan. Her image was a striking example of the trend toward naturalness: Hutton used only natural shades in her makeup.

Farrah Fawcett

In the 70s, model Farrah Fawcett continued the trend towards naturalness and became an adherent of sports and an active lifestyle. She introduced self-tanning, which had just appeared on the market at that time, into fashion, and in her makeup she focused on eyelashes, applied pearlescent lipstick to her lips, and gave the skin a glowing effect, which today is called gym skin.

Madonna

Madonna is rightly called a chameleon, and this applies to both her fashionable looks and makeup. One of Madonna's first beauty looks in the 80s was bright and careless makeup in a punk style: black arrows extended to the temples, shadows shaded throughout the entire eyelid, red lips, blush. In subsequent years, she changed her platinum blonde hair color to black, alternating smokey eyes with arrows and vice versa.

Amy Winehouse

The emotionally and visually powerful image of the British singer became iconic during her lifetime. A thick high bouffant hairstyle and exaggerated makeup became the main details of her image, reflecting London's Camden - the fashionista's quarter. The obligatory elements of Winehouse's makeup were red lips and thick black eyeliner.

Lady Gaga

The outrageous singer masterfully transforms herself into different images, and even if some of them are shocking, any role of Gaga is thought out to the smallest detail and makes a strong impression. Most often, creative eye makeup comes to the fore in the singer’s makeup: heavy false eyelashes made of black feathers, an exaggerated version of “cat eyes” from the Thierry Mugler show, or red sparkles instead of shadows at the 2016 Super Bowl.

How to choose the shape of your eyebrows: fashionable options based on the examples of stars | style

Few things change the face as much and are as difficult to correct as eyebrows. And if only there was a correction! But there are fashion trends, matching the style and shape of the face - sometimes choosing the shape of the eyebrows is so difficult that you give up. Look at the examples of stars - perhaps something will suit you too. However, remember: it is better to entrust even eyebrow plucking to a specialist. For home “dexterity exercises” you will have to stock up on considerable patience, get good tools and experiment, experiment, experiment...

New Audrey

Luxurious, well-groomed eyebrows were a kind of calling card of the great Audrey Hepburn’s film image. Wide, smooth, like sable, almost straight, without perky bends, strict, even graphic, pointed towards the temples - this shape of eyebrows requires a firm hand and careful correction.

Model Miranda Kerr, actresses Rooney Mara and Natalie Portman chose a slightly modernized eyebrow shape, more modern than Audrey's. Their eyebrows are not as graphic, perhaps narrower, but the shape is still like Audrey's, with a pointed tip.

Do you want to choose this eyebrow shape?

Consider some nuances:

  • an eyebrow shape like Audrey Hepburn's is most suitable for brunettes with chiseled features;
  • follow the natural shape of your eyebrows - if you have a naturally arched “house” shape, then you won’t be able to achieve smooth horizontal eyebrows like Audrey’s;
  • in order to get an even graphic cut of the eyebrows at the bridge of the nose, use depilation strips;
  • You can’t do without a tone-on-tone correcting pencil with your natural eyebrow color - the eyebrow color “like Audrey’s” should be rich and uniform.

Attention!

  • If you have a heavy lower part of the face, then this eyebrow shape will not suit you, because it will visually emphasize this flaw.

Chic naturalness

Women who prefer a relaxed style of clothing often choose natural eyebrows, without a pronounced or emphasized shape. For example, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston and Sarah Jessica Parker have natural eyebrows.

In this case, you need to follow the natural hair growth line: comb your eyebrow down and carefully trim the hairs at the same level. Then repeat, but comb your eyebrows upward and trim any stray hairs.

If you prefer not to trim, but to use tweezers, remember: you can only pluck stray hairs from the bottom of the eyebrow. Hairs that do not want to lie properly above the eyebrow, at the top, can only be trimmed.

Want to choose a natural eyebrow shape?

Consider some nuances:

  • This eyebrow shape is best chosen by fair-haired women;
  • In order to maintain the shape of your eyebrows, you will need a brush and styling gel.

Attention!

  • If you are a fair-skinned brunette, then within a few days you will notice growing hairs. And this looks extremely sloppy.

Arched eyebrows

The most popular eyebrow shape, which is also chosen by stars such as Angelina Jolie, Megan Fox or Kim Kardashian, is an arch or arc. This eyebrow opens up the look and emphasizes the eyes.

Arched eyebrows are a find of the stylists of cinema legend, actress Greta Garbo. However, the shape, which exactly copies the eyebrows of the great Greta, is now outdated, so the modern “arch” is of medium thickness. This eyebrow shape is suitable for any age and face.

Do you want to choose an arched eyebrow shape?

Consider some nuances:

  • pluck your eyebrows in thin longitudinal rows and be careful not to overdo it - two or three extra hairs pulled out will create a visible bald spot;
  • start from the bridge of the nose and move towards the temples in thin longitudinal rows, following the natural curve of the eyebrow;
  • tweezers should be thin and sharp;
  • be sure to tint your eyebrow: for this it is better to use a pencil in tone rather than eyeshadow - apply a few light strokes at the same angle at which the hairs grow.

Attention!

  • plucking eyebrows with an “arch” is a labor-intensive and painstaking process.

Thick, overgrown eyebrows

One of the hottest trends of the season is wide, wild, as if “wild” eyebrows. The permanent face of the Burberry brand Cara Delevingne, Pippa Middleton and the daughter of rock star Phil Collins - Lily Collins, they all chose this eyebrow shape, but on each of them it looks a little different. And the recognized style icon Victoria Beckham with exactly this eyebrow shape appeared on the cover of the Spanish edition of Harper's Bazaar.

This eyebrow shape is very convenient and does not require special skills for correction. You won’t have to tidy them up as often as a glamorous “arch” or graphic eyebrows in the style of Audrey Hepburn.

Want to choose thick eyebrows?

Consider some nuances:

  • In order for such thick eyebrows to look neat, it is necessary to remove the small, fluffy hairs between the eyebrows, the ones that tweezers can’t even grab. The best way to do this is to master the technique of plucking with thread;
  • To style and maintain the shape of the eyebrows, use a transparent gel. Never tint eyebrows of this shape with pencil, mascara or shadows - this will make them look too threatening;
  • In order for your face to look balanced with thick eyebrows, choose this eyebrow shape only if your hair has a rich, rich color. Otherwise, the eyebrows will “hang” and suppress facial features;

Attention!

  • If your eyes are not too large and expressive, then with thick eyebrows they will also look too close to each other.

Threaded eyebrows

Thin, thread-like eyebrows don't always look like you've overdone it with tweezers.

They are great for women with thin features and thin hair because this eyebrow shape creates a special glow around the eyes. However, when choosing a thin brow shape, it is important not to overdo it and create unattractive and outdated brows. The current thread form is worn by Michelle Williams, Helen Mirren and Mischa Barton.

Do you want to choose this eyebrow shape?

Consider some nuances:

  • do not make thin eyebrows too high and arched - this will make you look ridiculous;
  • use a magnifying mirror;
  • In order to pluck your eyebrows evenly and equally, alternate - having plucked the row on the right, go to the left and vice versa.

Attention!

  • If you have naturally thick eyebrows, then you will have to work hard to achieve this shape. In addition, thin eyebrows need to be constantly adjusted.

Audrey Hepburn: style and makeup of the actress

The content of the article:

Audrey Hepburn is still a recognized style icon and standard of beauty today. And one of her most popular images from the film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” is repeated again and again. Audrey Hepburn's makeup from this film will be a great idea for a New Year's look.

Secrets of Audrey Hepburn's image

  1. Audrey Hepburn's main asset was her smooth, blemish-free, porcelain skin. The star preserved her beauty and freshness until old age. A light natural blush complemented the delicate image of the actress.
  2. Nature rewarded Audrey with thick, lush eyebrows, which she never corrected. Moreover, she considered it inappropriate to do so! Only with the help of makeup did she emphasize their curves.
  3. Lush false eyelashes and arrows, which later became the hallmark of the star’s image, added depth and attractiveness to her naturally expressionless eyes.
  4. And, of course, the lips are full and sensual. The star considered them the main weapon of seduction. But at the same time, she never used bright and overtly sexy shades of lipstick. Her preferences: natural and natural colors, quite saturated, but restrained.

To replicate makeup in the style of Audrey Hepburn and make it as similar to the original as possible, you need to take into account these nuances of the star’s image.

Makeup technique in the style of Audrey Hepburn

Face

You need to start Audrey Hepburn's makeup by creating the ideal complexion . Audrey Hepburn has a distinct aristocratic style with pale porcelain skin. Therefore, to create a tone, you need to use a minimum of foundation and auxiliary beauty products.

  1. Even out the skin with a primer with properties suitable for your type (for oily skin, a mattifying primer is suitable, for those prone to inflammation - with a slight masking effect).
  2. Apply foundation. The ideal option is a caring foundation fluid that will cover the skin with a thin layer of pigments and saturate it with caring components.
  3. Treat problem areas with corrector or concealer: disguise dark circles under the eyes. Spider veins, acne and other imperfections.
  4. To make the blush look as natural as possible, apply it under powder. Choose shades that refresh your face: peach, soft pink. Using a wide brush, pick up a little blush and barely touch the apples of your cheeks.

Eyes

Fashionable wide eyebrows and expressive arrows are the main accents in Audrey Hepburn's makeup, without which it would be incomplete.

  • If the shape of your eyebrows corresponds to the fashion of the season, then you just need to emphasize it with shadows or eyebrow mascara. Well, if your eyebrows have “suffered” from frequent corrections, you need to draw them in: fill in the gaps between the hairs with an eyebrow pencil. At the end, be sure to comb your eyebrows and fix them with gel.
  • The next stage of Audrey Hepburn's makeup is arrows. Before drawing the arrows, you should create a base for them in the form of a neutral shade of shadows.
  • Light beige eye shadow is applied under the Audrey Hepburn-style arrows. The emphasis is certainly placed on the inner corners of the eyes with white shadows: this way the look will become radiant and wide-open.
  • Audrey Hepburn's wings are a la Dior: with a raised short ponytail. When creating such an arrow, it is very important that there is no unpainted space between it and the eyelashes. Therefore, first use a black eyeliner to carefully fill in the gaps between the eyelashes.
  • For arrows, it is better to use liquid eyeliner: it will give a deeper and richer shade of black. If you rarely use classic eyeliner, then it is better to draw the arrows first with a pencil, and then draw the final version based on a kind of sketch.
  • First, draw a thin pencil line from the inside of the eyelid. Don't try to draw a solid line right away, it's better to draw with neat strokes. By the middle of the eyelid, the arrows should become thicker, and at the outer side of the eyelid they should end with a miniature upturned tail.

Audrey Hepburn couldn't imagine her makeup without long false eyelashes. Be sure to use them too to add expressiveness to your look.

Lips

Full, sensual and at the same time natural lips, like Audrey Hepburn’s - this effect in makeup is very easy to achieve! All you need is a lip liner and lipstick with a satin texture.

  1. Using a pencil, draw the outline of the lips, but not along the inner border, but along the outer one. This technique will make your lips look fuller.
  2. Then paint them with lipstick: choose natural and discreet shades: pink-beige, light pink, nude.

Complete the look a la Audrey Hepburn with a little black dress and a high babette hairstyle with a large brooch.

In this look, you will definitely become the center of attention at any party, because the aristocratic style has always attracted attention with its sophistication and slight mystery. Feel free to experiment with your image, because perfection knows no bounds!

How to do makeup in the style of Audrey Hepburn (photo)

Audrey Hepburn's Makeup Secrets

By nature, this amazing actress had very delicate and too pale skin, but she was able to turn this obvious flaw into an advantage . The thing is that Audrey Hepburn used a foundation that was as close as possible to her natural complexion. Moreover, she chose a liquid foundation that was light in texture, which could not hide skin defects, but only gave it a velvety feel. However, it was a sin for the actress to complain about any flaws in her appearance, and thanks to this, her face looked fresh and attractive even in old age. By the way, the actress’s rosy cheeks always looked natural, and the credit for this goes to pink blush with mother-of-pearl, which was evenly distributed from the temples to the nasolabial folds. Moreover, they were applied in a minimal amount and shaded properly, so few viewers doubt that Audrey Hepburn’s rosy cheeks are the result of good blood circulation, and not the skill of the makeup artist.

Audrey Hepburn eye makeup

Audrey Hepburn practically did not correct her naturally wide and thick eyebrows, considering it bad form . But at the same time, a black cosmetic pencil was her constant assistant. Thanks to him, she gave her eyebrows the required shape and “drew” their curve, smooth and very feminine. As for the eyes, from her youth the actress adored false eyelashes, which over time became her calling card. With their help, Audrey Hepburn managed to give her look a special romanticism and sensuality. Shadows, however, played an important role in this important issue. In the 50s of the last century, makeup artists had not yet discovered the secret of the “radiant look,” which can be achieved by applying white or silver shadows to the outer corners of the eyes. However, Audrey Hepburn used this technique intuitively, although she applied pearly gray shadows only to the inside of the lower eyelids. They were complemented, as a rule, with darker shades, kept in brown and black, which made it possible to visually enlarge the eyes. The actress preferred to line her lower eyelids in the inner corners with a beige pencil, and decorated the outer corners with barely noticeable arrows, slightly raised upwards. For these purposes, the actress used a dark brown pencil.

Lips

Audrey Hepburn considered her full and very sexy lips to be her main weapon, so she paid special attention to them. Thanks to the contour pencil, perfectly matched to the tone of the lipstick, she visually increased their volume even more. But at the same time I never liked bright and flashy colors. Her lipstick is soft pink, scarlet and purple, having a very rich shade, but at the same time looking as natural as possible. Without mother-of-pearl or glitter, with a matte texture, it perfectly followed the shape of the lips, giving them softness and sensuality.
