Shrimp salad is considered by many to be some kind of delicacy, so most often it is customary to prepare it for a festive table on the occasion of a birthday, New Year, March 8, February 23, etc. In fact, this salad is as affordable as any other, and the hassle of preparing it is even less than, for example, Mimosa salad or Caesar salad with chicken.

The main ingredient of this salad is, of course, shrimp. These can be either king size shrimp or small ones. Today you can buy frozen shrimp in the store, after which you just boil them in lightly salted water for about five minutes. But no salad can consist of one product. Therefore, among the list of ingredients necessary for preparing a salad, you can find such products as: squid, avocado, eggs, red caviar, pineapples, tomatoes, fish, chicken and many others. Which combination you choose will depend only on your culinary preferences.

An important role in the taste of the salad will be played not only by the selection of combined ingredients, but also by the dressing with which you season the salad. As a rule, when preparing the dressing, most housewives try not to overdo it and use mayonnaise, sour cream or regular olive oil for these purposes. In the salad recipes below you will find all possible options, and also for dessert, I shared a citrus dressing, which is versatile and suitable not only for shrimp salad, but also for any other.

It is advisable to let the finished salad brew for at least a quarter of an hour, after which it will be considered completely ready. Before serving, the salad can be decorated with chopped herbs or grated cheese. From this he will benefit not only in taste, but also in aesthetic terms.

Shrimp salad, step-by-step recipe with vegetables

Making vegetable and shrimp salad is not as difficult as you think, this is a simple Vietnamese version of the salad. The dish is very popular, so it can be used as a side dish at family parties or weekdays.

Ingredients for 3 servings

  • Carrots – 1 pc.
  • Lettuce – 200 gr
  • Cucumbers – 2 small
  • Lemon juice – 2 tbsp. l.
  • Apple cider vinegar – 1 tbsp. l.
  • Fish sauce – 1/2 tbsp. l
  • Chopped garlic – 1 clove
  • Honey – 1/2 tbsp. l
  • Fresh shrimp – 450 gr
  • A few roasted peanuts, finely chopped greens

How to make a vegetable salad

Step 1 Wash the shrimp and boil in salted water until tender (3-5 minutes). We clear the shell and head part.

Step 2 Cut the cucumbers into thin slices. Peel the carrots, wash them and cut them into strips. Rinse the lettuce leaves, dry them, and chop them coarsely.

Step 3 Prepare the sauce for pouring. Mix apple cider vinegar, fish sauce, lemon juice, honey, garlic in a bowl. Let's brew a little.

Step 4 Mix vegetables in a deep plate. Place the peeled shrimp, pour over the sauce, and mix well.

Step 5 Sprinkle with chopped roasted peanuts and herbs.

Thai shrimp salad recipe with vegetables

Thai shrimp salad is one of the simplest dishes that can be prepared not only for a holiday, but also for a family lunch or dinner.

Cooking time: 20 minutes for 4 people.

Composition of Thai snack products

For filling

  • Non-bitter capsicum – 1 pc.
  • Hot chili pepper – 1 pc.
  • Kumquat – 50 gr
  • Sugar – 70 gr
  • Salt – 10 g
  • Thai sauce for meat with vegetables – 20 g
  • Galangal – 5 g or ginger

For the salad

  • Shrimp – 400-500 gr
  • Papaya – 1 piece
  • 1 chili pepper (you can use a small sweet pepper)
  • Kumquat juice – 1 tbsp. spoon
  • Small ginger root
  • Lime leaves and laksa (you can use a couple of lime wedges and a few mint leaves)
  • Small shallot
  • Vegetable oil – 30 g
  • Lemongrass
  • One small onion
  • Roasted sesame seeds – 3 tbsp. spoons
  • Chopped roasted peanuts – 2 tbsp. spoons

For the sauce

  • 4 tablespoons puree filling
  • 1 spoon fish sauce
  • 1 spoon of water
  • 5 grams sugar

Step 1. Prepare the ingredients

Boil some water in a small saucepan. Add washed chili peppers and a non-bitter pod. Boil the water for about 3 minutes, then remove the peppers. We cut them and remove all the seeds, chop them into pieces.

Preparing the filling. In a mixer we put 30 grams of a mixture of peppers, 50 grams of kumquat, cut into pieces, salt, sugar, 20 grams of Thai sauce for stewed meat with vegetables and a piece of galangal or ginger root. Grind until smooth puree. Add hot pepper to your liking.

We prepare the ingredients of the salad itself. Wash the shrimp thoroughly. Place a pan of lightly salted water on the stove, bring to a boil, and cook the shrimp in it.

Please note that the shrimp will be ready in about 2-3 minutes.

We take them out, let the water drain and cool. We remove the head part and the armor. Place on a plate and sprinkle with kumquat juice.

The tail part of several shrimps can be left in place to decorate the dish later.

We cut hot chili peppers into thin strips; for those who do not find a very spicy dish acceptable, you can use sweet peppers. Thinly slice the ginger and chop the greens.

Peel the papaya, grate the pulp with a Korean carrot grater, and finely chop the shallots. Mix the shallots with 30 g of vegetable oil and let it brew a little.

Peel the onion and cut it into quarter rings. Fry in a small amount of vegetable oil until golden. Transfer to a saucer, without oil, and let cool.

Step 2. Assembling the salad

In a deep bowl, combine shrimp, papaya, lemongrass, lemon leaves, laksa leaves, shrimp, onion oil and salad dressing. Add 2 tablespoons of toasted sesame seeds and mix well for 3-5 minutes to mix the ingredients evenly. Let it brew for another 5 minutes, then squeeze it lightly and transfer it to a plate.

Now add 1 tablespoon of fried sesame seeds, 2 tablespoons of peanuts and 2 tablespoons of fried onions, spread evenly on the salad. Finally, we make the sauce. Mix 4 tablespoons of puree filling, 1 spoon of fish sauce, 5 g of sugar and 1 spoon of water. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Step 3. Decorate and enjoy the food

Garnish with the reserved shrimp tails. Pour over the sauce. This sauce can be placed separately in a gravy boat and seafood can be dipped in it. I wish you success with this salad and bon appetit!!!

Simple salad with Chinese cabbage and shrimp

This version of the recipe is the simplest, but no less delicious. This positive ratio is achieved due to the ideal combination of tastes and textures of Chinese cabbage, shrimp and orange.   • 600 g Chinese cabbage;
  • 1 medium sized orange;
  • 500 g frozen shrimp;
  • 1 tbsp. spoon of vegetable oil;

We prepare shrimp by boiling them or frying them in a frying pan with vegetable oil. Peel the orange, divide it into slices, remove the transparent film and cut each slice into 2-3 parts. Shred the cabbage. Cut the finished shrimp into 2 parts. Mix all ingredients in a salad bowl and season with olive oil. The salad is ready to eat.

Delicious salad with shrimp and mango

Ingredients for mango salad for 4-5 people:

  • 2 green mangoes
  • 1 kg fresh shrimp
  • 200 g pork belly
  • 50 g dried shrimp
  • dried onion
  • green onions
  • lemons
  • Laksa (mint) leaves, garlic
  • chilli
  • 100 g roasted peanuts
  • fish sauce
  • sugar

How to make shrimp mango appetizer:

Step 1 : Prepare all the ingredients for the salad.

Peel the mango and grate the pulp into the fibers using a Korean carrot grater.

Shrimp and meat, dry with paper napkins. Peel the roasted peanuts and finely chop them, but not to powder.

Boil dried onions, a couple of finely chopped garlic cloves and 50 grams of dried shrimp in a small amount of water for 2-3 minutes until soft, then puree with a blender.

Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes in salted water, then cool and clean. Set aside.

Boil the meat until cooked, cut into small long pieces.

Step 2: Putting together a delicious salad.

We use a large, deep bowl. Add cooked shrimp, chopped meat, mango fiber, dried shrimp puree, mint leaves, a clove of finely chopped garlic, chili to taste and peanuts. Mix well.

Add a little fish sauce, sugar and the juice of one lemon. Mix well and then sprinkle with a handful of chopped green onions.

  • 400 g Chinese cabbage leaves;
  • 200 g frozen shrimp size 90120;
  • 15 cherry tomatoes;
  • 8 quail eggs (can be replaced with 2 chicken eggs);
  • 150 g Parmesan cheese;
  • ready-made Caesar salad dressing;

To prepare croutons:

  • 150 g white bread;
  • 2 tbsp. spoons of olive oil;
  • 2 cloves of garlic;
  • Italian herbs;

Prepare the garlic croutons ahead of time. To do this, cut white bread into 1 cm cubes. Pass the garlic through a garlic press or chop finely. Mix it in a separate cup with olive oil and Italian herbs. Drizzle the mixture over the white bread cubes and place in the oven for 10 minutes.

Remove the shrimp from the freezer and fry them over medium heat with olive oil for 10 minutes. At this time, boil the eggs and leave them to cool under running cold water. If you use chicken eggs, they must be cut into 4 slices each.

Tear the Chinese cabbage leaves with your hands and place in a deep salad bowl. Add shrimp, eggs and washed cherry tomatoes. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater and mix it with the rest of the ingredients. Add garlic croutons and Caesar salad dressing to the salad. Step 1 : prepare the products

Step 4 : Prepare the sauce for pouring: combine sugar and fish sauce in a 2:2 ratio, add chopped garlic, squeeze out lemon juice. Stir until the sugar dissolves. You can add a little salt.

Step 5 : Combine the meat, shrimp and about 1 teaspoon of the prepared sauce in a bowl, let it brew for about 5 minutes.

Step 6 : Add onions, carrots, take papaya out of the water, squeeze it lightly and put it in a bowl, pour a tablespoon of sauce and mix well. Try the salad, it should taste sweet and sour (add chili if you like spicy food).

Finally, sprinkle the salad with roasted peanuts and herbs, adding a little more sauce if necessary.
