Fashionistas! Note! You should remember this color with its characteristic burgundy undertone, because now it will often appear in trendy items and collections. The “Red Pear” color has replaced the “Marsala” shade, which peaked in popularity last year. They are similar and belong to the same color scheme, but Pear looks juicier and more optimistic.

How the schedule and format of Fashion Weeks will change due to coronavirus

The future of the fashion calendar is uncertain. Every day, designers and their teams face new challenges to overcome amid the pandemic. Planning for next season is no longer business as usual, but small steps are already being taken. After months of quarantine, fashion houses have returned to work in France and Italy, aiming to reimagine everything, especially fashion shows. While the prospect of attending runway shows in real life in any numbers seems distant, brands are finding new ways to showcase collections and express their ideas in the here and now. We talk about upcoming events.

Givenchy, spring-summer 2020

June 12-14

In April, the British Fashion Council announced that its regular Men's Fashion Week would be promoted as a digital week. The three-day Week, organized by the council, will bring together UK brands to share creative content in a variety of formats, such as podcasts and photo diaries. “We are adapting digital innovation to best suit our needs today,” Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council, said in a press release.

Charles Jeffrey Loverboy, Daniel W. Fletcher, Lou Dalton have already confirmed their participation with new collections, but many other British menswear brands, including Bianca Saunders, Per Götesson, Burberry, Richard Quinn and Wales Bonner are in no hurry to show the spring season. summer 2021.

5'th of July

Ahead of the rescheduled Paris Men's Fashion Week, Hermès will be live-streaming its spring 2021 collections with an online show scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. ET.

July 6-8

In Paris, the French Federation of Haute Couture and Prêt-à-Porter (FHCM) will host the world's first digital Haute Couture Week. During the three-day digital event, brands will present videos and additional content that will be broadcast according to the schedule, emulating the format of physical Fashion Week.

Armani Privé, spring-summer 2020

July 9-13

FHCM has announced that its men's spring 2021 collections will be presented in video-only format. Just like during real-life shows, digital Fashion Week will be organized in time slots, allowing for parallel broadcasts on the platform. “Digital is undoubtedly a strong part of fashion, and we will use its innovations to complement traditions,” Ralph Tolenado, president of the Federation, told Vogue. “Live impressions will remain a priority for us, but while there is uncertainty, we must be flexible.”

July 14-17

The National Chamber of Fashion of Italy (Camera della Moda) also announced a digital format for men's and women's shows with new July dates called Milan Fashion Week Digital. From social media discussions to virtual showrooms, the platform will allow designers to showcase their latest collection or something completely different. “Everyone can do what they want. The advantage is that in the digital space you are absolutely free. We told everyone: “You have between one and 15 minutes and you decide what you want to show,” said Carlo Capasa, president of Camera della Moda.

Ermenegildo Zegna will present a symbiosis - a “physical-digital” show. “I have always wanted to use alternative formats to bring my creative process to an even wider audience. The idea that this season I will be able to present the collection through digital innovation inspires me,” explained Ermenegildo Zegna Group artistic director Alessandro Sartori in a press release.

July 17th

On the last day of the new digital Fashion Week in Milan, Gucci will present its cruise collection (women's and men's parts together). However, it will be the last pre-collection for the Italian house. On May 25, Alessandro Michele announced that the brand would only show two shows (autumn and spring) instead of five seasonal shows per year.

Date to be confirmed

Alessandro Michele is not alone. Saint Laurent, owned by Gucci's parent company Kering, announced a departure from this year's preset schedule. "Recognizing the current circumstances and the radical changes they have brought us, Saint Laurent has decided to change its schedule," the house's creative director Anthony Vaccarello wrote on Instagram in April.

August 9-12

Influencers, editors and buyers from all over the world flock to the Danish capital twice a year to take part in Copenhagen Fashion Week. This season's event has moved up five days as a result of the pandemic. “We are fortunate that Denmark’s borders are opening early, allowing us to hold Copenhagen Fashion Week as close as possible to the originally planned dates,” said Cecily Thorsmark, CEO of Copenhagen Fashion Week. “Of course, all our activities will be organized in accordance with current regulatory requirements.”

August 26-28

Stockholm canceled Fashion Week the past two seasons due to financial problems, but the Swedish Fashion Association is once again planning to enter the era of digital fashion events. The SFA premiere, which will take place over three days at the end of August, will primarily target consumers rather than press or buyers. In addition to pre-recorded presentations, designers will participate in online interviews and feature conversations with Vogue editors.

Iris Van Herpen, spring-summer 2020

September 2020

Kerby Jean-Raymond of Pyer Moss, known for his spectacular annual shows, proves that caution does not mean canceling all large gatherings. Jean-Raymond will host a full online presentation of his new film American, Also. "We've always strived to show the work that goes into creating a collection - we've slowed down the speed of production and improved the quality of what we've been producing over the years," Jean-Raymond told Vogue.

Jean-Raymond isn't the only New York designer hoping for something bigger in September. With resort collections largely canceled due to factory closures, many brands have refocused their efforts on New York Fashion Week. Veteran fashion headliners like Proenza Schouler and big-name newcomers like Collina Strada are said to be saving their energy for September to take advantage of the digital strategy that's taking shape in both Milan and Paris.

January 2021

In April, Pitti Immagine Uomo postponed its spring collection shows from June to September with the hope that some socially distanced shows could still take place. However, the organization recently decided to postpone all live shows until January 2021, meaning that the regularly biannual Men's Fashion Week will only be held once in Florence this year due to the pandemic. Instead of the June and September presentations, Pitti Immagine will launch the online platform Pitti Connect.

Instead of attending digital Paris Fashion Week, Giorgio Armani will hold its off-season Privé show at the Palazzo Orsini in January. Joining Armani, Sacai creative director Chitose Abe will present his couture collection for Jean Paul Gaultier as a guest designer.

Unlike most brands, which are planning to hold presentations in September, Virgil Abloh has paused shows until January next year. Abloh's decision means Off-White is now experimenting with a see-now-buy-now calendar. The collection will be available for order in February, which is about a month after its debut on the show.

Balenciaga has not yet officially confirmed the new date. The French house will likely delay Demna Gvasalia's post-quarantine debut until 2021.
