Beauty secrets we learned from Natalia Vodianova

Today, mother of many children, model and philanthropist Natalya Vodianova celebrates her birthday. In honor of this event, we studied dozens of her interviews and collected the main beauty rules of the bride of Antoine Arnault. How does a star take care of her skin and hair? What products are in her makeup bag? How does she manage to stay slim and look so young? Find answers to these and other questions in our material.

Skin care

Looking through photographs from gossip columns, we admire Natalia’s radiant complexion every time. No dark circles under the eyes, rashes or redness. The model believes that the most important thing is that the skin is clean and moisturized. She uses gentle cleansers from the French brand La Roche-Posay, which can be found in any pharmacy. Then applies Guerlain Super Aqua day cream and Super Aqua night cream. It is not surprising that the star chooses these particular products - Natalya has been the face of the brand for more than ten years.

They are just perfect for me because I love how my makeup goes on afterwards. In general, it’s all about genetics and a healthy lifestyle,” she said in an interview with the New York Times.

Then, since she has very sensitive eyes, she uses a soothing cream that her dermatologist recommended. It's called SVR Topialyse and is designed specifically for irritated eyelid skin.

Makeup

Less is more is her motto in makeup too. Natalya loves naturalness.

For me, beauty is something internal. But internally a person is beautiful when he has this balance, when he takes care of his nutrition and physical fitness. Excess of everything is harmful to health, says Vodianova.

This is why Natalya never overdoes it with cosmetics. Her everyday eye makeup is not complete without eyeliner in the shade Champagne Diamonds from Charlotte Tilbury, but the model can easily neglect mascara. She highlights her eyebrows with dark brown Eyeko gel. Its formula is not matte, but has a slight shine.

Luckily, my grandmother told me not to pluck my eyebrows when I was 14 years old. She said that if I did this, I would regret it for the rest of my life. Thanks to her, I now have thick eyebrows. I have blue eyes, so dark eyebrows look especially cool. There is a beauty hack that I learned from makeup artists at shows. To freshen up your look, you can apply a drop of Vaseline to the inner corners of your eyes.

- she said.

The supermodel's makeup bag always contains Fresh Sugar Petal moisturizing lip balm, she uses De Peau BB foundation in the summer, and in winter she prefers Météorites Baby Glow, also from Guerlain.

Another secret is that I never use a contour pencil, but apply lipstick directly with my fingers,” she said in an interview with Elle.

Hair

I have very good hair. They are thick, but being a model means constantly blow-drying, curling, and then straightening them, so it is important to moisturize your curls. I take care of them with Leonor Greyl products. This is a French brand, and hairdresser Odile Gilbert said that I should definitely use this brand of end cream. I go to the Leonor Greyl Institute near the Place de la Madeleine every couple of weeks, the procedure takes two hours. During this time, I get a head massage and apply oils and masks. After visiting the clinic, I feel as if I had returned from a week’s vacation,” said the mother of many children.

The model does not wash her hair every day, but once every two days. She is sure that if you do this too often, they will become dry and brittle. Natalia also uses Christophe Robin products (she especially loves the Instant Volumizing Spray with Rose Water and the Antioxidant Cleansing Milk with Oils and Blueberries), including coloring her hair with the brand's products from the most famous Parisian colorist, Christophe Robin. Its natural color is slightly darker. And for shine after styling, apply Balmain Hair argan oil spray.

Diet and fitness

“I don’t know how to talk about this without making thousands of women hate me, but I really don’t exercise much,” she admitted to the British version of Hello! magazine.

Natasha complains that when doing yoga and Pilates, her arm muscles build up very quickly. The shoulders immediately become so massive. Everyone loves it, but I, on the contrary, don’t like it. I want to look very feminine. I want to have soft curves and not be too skinny. Just be in good shape, without those bodybuilder arms. This has always bothered me. Then one day I woke up and it dawned on me. I decided to dance because in dance, hands are more like accessories. You don't pump them up, you just keep them in good shape,

- she said.

The star found a small dance studio where she began taking individual lessons. She prefers jazz and modern styles.

I work out once a week. Through dance, I communicate more with myself as a woman,” Vodianova is sure.

I was never faced with the task of losing weight, thanks to genetics. Even after having children, I quickly got into shape. After pregnancy, the most important thing is to restore your back muscles,” she said.

Natalya has been following a blood type diet for 10 years now.

I know many people don't believe this. But I have had problems with my digestive system since childhood. There were stomach ulcers. Then I tried this nutrition system and after two weeks I found that I felt much better. I'm lucky because I have blood type IV, and I don't have to be too disciplined when it comes to nutrition. I can eat red meat (except lamb), carbohydrates, fish, bread and dairy products,

— the star shared.

But mangoes, bananas, seeds, avocados, beans and buckwheat are on the black list.

In general, sometimes I allow myself everything I love. Cake, chocolate, even coffee, a glass of beer and red wine. “I can’t resist Russian cuisine—cabbage rolls and pies,” she admits.

When a star lacks energy, she leans on superfoods: dietary supplements with algae, spirulina and wheat germ extract. Sometimes he takes courses of vitamins, for example, in the fall he takes B12 and biotin.

Body and face care

Natalia Vodianova was born into a more than modest family. Natalya’s mother raised her three daughters herself. One of the girls has been disabled since childhood - Vodianova’s sister Oksana was born with a severe form of autism and cerebral palsy, which later prompted Natalya to create a charitable foundation. Mother had a very hard time, and Natalya helped her sell fruit at the market, carrying 30-kilogram boxes of goods.

At the age of 15, the girl entered the Nizhny Novgorod Pedagogical College, and at 16, Vodianova was enrolled in the Evgenia modeling agency, and then her success began. When Natalia remembers her childhood, she admits that it was not easy. As the model admitted in an interview, she began to really smile only at the age of 17. So Natalya developed good taste and the ability to take care of herself.

Interview Buro 24/7: Natalia Vodianova

On September 6, the Podium Concept Store boutique hosted a presentation of the Natalia dress, named by Ulyana Sergeenko in honor of Natalia Vodianova, who this year became the face of Vogue Fashion Night Out. It is known that all proceeds from the sale of each scarlet dress will be transferred to Natasha’s charitable foundation.

Before this action there was another, larger-scale one. Perhaps every Facebook user knows that the famous model was one of the first people to go to Krymsk after the natural disaster. Having written on July 7 about her intention to help people affected by the flood, Natasha gathered more than 100 people and went to the Krasnodar region. She volunteered for three weeks. Later, her Naked Heart Foundation became involved. We talked to her today about what this trip meant in Natasha’s life.

Please tell us about your trip to Krymsk, how it all began?

It was a very emotional trip. I don’t know how to more accurately describe my feelings: it was as if I had dived into dark water, and it was unclear what was at the bottom. When this happened, the next day, Monday, I started organizing the trip through an ad on Facebook. It was the fastest way to get people together.

Weren't you afraid to travel with people you don't know?

I agree, it’s also a risk to involve strangers. But by and large, that’s why I created the page. I needed feedback, direct communication. After all, we go through life alone, and I am no exception. It seems that there is popularity, it seems that there are some people who somehow treat you, good or bad, I don’t know, but communication always goes through third parties - journalists. There is an urgent need for direct contact.

Do you need Facebook for dialogue without intermediaries?

Yes, we need direct dialogue, feedback, so to speak. Plus, I can write whatever I want on my page. I have my own voice.

Did a call on Facebook bring the desired results?

People responded. This has been a great success for the work I do. In one day, the team assembled, and we went by bus to the Krasnodar region, and instantly found a common language. I met interesting people, they are all enthusiasts like me, they care about the lives of other people, and that’s not all: it’s not enough to be indifferent, it’s important to be brave and resourceful. They arrived not knowing where they would live, what they would do, just like me. We quickly found a volunteer organization in Krasnodar and went to Krymsk together.

Have you started collaborating with them?

Yes. I can honestly say that if it weren’t for these guys, it would have been much more difficult for us. They even brought with them the cook Sergei, who cooked for any number of people. He immediately took a piece of a fence somewhere, put it on the stones, lit a fire and cooked delicious porridge in a large cauldron (even when we lived in a hotel, we came to Sergei to eat porridge). At the same time, Sergei is a vegetarian and a yogi. He and his colleagues are absolutely wonderful, bright people. I call all of them my heroes, we still keep in touch.

Interview with Buro 24/7: Natalia Vodianova (photo 3)

How much time did you spend in Krymsk?

I spent three weeks there. What we did there paid off. More than 100 people passed through our volunteer camp. This is an achievement. Even more important is what we did specifically for children.

Are you talking about the playroom that your Naked Heart Foundation created?

Yes, I consider this the main merit. We brought in specialists who worked there for more than a month. It turns out that if the tragedy had not occurred, the children would not have had such a wonderful summer. Many educators and teachers of different directions came and taught each child everything from reading to theater arts.

As a citizen of the world and philanthropist, could you give an objective assessment of the state of Russian society and its attitude towards charity?

It seems to me that natural development is taking place in our country. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with us, we’re just at some stage that’s far from the West, but at the same time I see a lot of enthusiasm and desire to help. There are very interesting young people growing up who are not afraid of individualism. This is a new generation, deprived of Soviet morality: for many years in our country it was impossible to think and act independently, outside the collective.

Interview with Buro 24/7: Natalia Vodianova (photo 5)

So you see potential in our youth?

Nowadays young people are growing up with new ideas, a different vision. In Krymsk, for example, a lot of teenagers helped us. At first they were shy, but on our site they opened up, loved the kids, and took care of them. That’s why the farewell was so emotional. Many were crying. There was a very touching moment when parents told us: “You changed our children, their consciousness. Now they have big plans for the future, they understand who they are, they want to protect their rights, take responsibility.” And I’m glad that we were able to influence the guys. After all, in order to know yourself, you need to be in an atmosphere where you can think freely. A person is a seed: in whatever soil you sow it, that’s what it will grow from.
