We already foresee the wave of indignation that this topic will cause. This is understandable: for decades, measurements of 90-60-90 have been considered the gold standard of the female figure, the ideal that many of us aspired to. And today the ideal is close to total oblivion. The obvious cannot be denied: a fundamentally different type of figure is becoming much more relevant - androgynous, less feminine. A pronounced waist, which has always been considered a great advantage of a woman, is losing ground - it is being replaced by a rectangular silhouette with prominent muscles and powerful abs.

Ideas about the ideal female form change from era to era. During the Golden Age of Hollywood - from the 1930s to the 1950s. — girls with appetizing curves, ample breasts and a figure called an “hourglass” were considered beautiful. The beauty icon of that time was Marilyn Monroe. In the 1960s, the vector changed: thin-legged “doe” with small breasts gained popularity. The most popular model of that time was Twiggy, whose thinness captivated designers and photographers around the world.

The 1980s and 1990s saw an aerobics craze. Remember the famous video tutorials of Jane Fonda and Cindy Crawford. Athletic, but at the same time feminine figures were in favor. Today, the fashion for a healthy lifestyle, and with it beautiful, athletic bodies, is returning. Look around: marathons are organized almost every weekend, many people play sports on the street, run in parks.

Need I say that for many the fitness room has become their home? At the same time, it is difficult to say unequivocally which silhouette is in trend now. On one side of the scale are Kim Kardashian and Co. with their bodycon corsets and world-famous buttocks, and on the other are pumped-up fitness models with six-pack abs and androgynous physiques.

The first ones are subconsciously perceived as women-mothers, while others, thanks to their teenage, slightly angular physique, seem younger than their years.

Look at the bodies of Alessandra Ambrossio, Heidi Klum, Doutzen Kroes or Gwyneth Paltrow: they have strong arms, sculpted legs and a flat stomach. But at the same time, each of the listed stars completely lacks a waist. We became interested in this phenomenon and asked an endocrinologist, yoga trainer, Pilates specialist and fitness instructor why the parameters 90-60-90 are no longer relevant.

First of all, the site asked the question: perhaps the lack of a waist is a consequence of the effects of hormones on the body? Medical endocrinologist, candidate of medical sciences Yuri Poteshkin

confirms this assumption: he is convinced that the appearance of a female figure primarily depends on female sex hormones - estrogens. As evidence, Yuri cites research results that prove that the higher the concentration of estrogen in a girl’s blood, the greater her hip volume.

“Many of the women in the photographs you presented (and we showed the doctor photos of the heroines from our gallery - website note) have a so-called straight figure for one reason: these women are over forty-five years old. When menopause occurs, the production of female sex hormones in sufficient quantities ceases, which leads to changes in metabolism in tissues. Thanks to this, fat does not linger in the thigh area,” says the doctor.

The specialist explains this fact by the fact that adipose tissue in the abdomen and upper half of the body becomes susceptible to the hormone cortisol, which is why fat begins to be deposited in the upper body, and the hips remain thin.

However, most of the famous women we chose as examples have an athletic figure, not a hint of excess fat, but still no waist. What's the matter? For clarification, we turned to the founder and leading expert of the Pilates PMP personal training studio Denis Sychev

. He is of the opinion that the absence of a pronounced waist in the presence of a slender body is most often a specific structure of the figure. This type is called “rectangle”. The width of the shoulders is approximately equal to the width of the hips, and the bend of the waist is almost absent. However, the expert notes that you can lose your natural waist by doing exercises incorrectly in the gym.

“This concerns the hyperextension machine, which is very popular among those working out in the gym. If used incorrectly, it can significantly affect the growth of the side muscles and increase waist size. Don't go overboard doing planks on your side. To strengthen the oblique abdominal muscles, simple twists and leg lifts are often sufficient,” the expert recommends.

Sychev’s main advice is to train the body comprehensively, so that the load is evenly and consistently distributed to all muscle groups.

According to Denis, by doing, for example, Pilates, you will never have problems with your waist: the exercise sets are designed to gradually engage all muscle groups. They place great emphasis on the center of the body - the lower back and abdomen.

DaYoga studio expert, teacher of hatha yoga and women's practices, yoga therapist Daria Osipova

I partly agree with Denis Sychev and believe that waist size is affected by excessive enthusiasm for working out the oblique abdominal muscles. According to the instructor, if you do not want to be “in trend” and still want to preserve your waist, it is better to focus on exercises that increase the volume of the hips: for example, asanas virabhadrasana (warrior pose 1-2-3) rudrasana, utkatasana in fixation 60-90 seconds.

“Combine practices that form a muscular corset around the waist (navasana, ardha navasana, chaturanga dandasana - also known as side plank) with those that affect metabolism (for example, aerobic exercise). Instead of jogging, you can practice yoga in strength interval training mode or do Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga. Yoga shatkarmas will also help narrow your waist: uddiyana bandha, agnisara dhauti and nauli,” the girl shares her experience.

Important: after doing yoga or another type of physical activity, do not eat any carbohydrate-containing foods, including juices and fruits, try to eat protein foods and drink water.

Daria Osipova also gave nutritional recommendations that are relevant for everyone - both for those who consider the figure type without a waist beautiful, and for fans of the classic silhouette. It is advisable to exclude from the diet foods that cause fermentation and bloating: fresh yeast bread, legumes, whole milk. Try to eat foods rich in fiber: fresh vegetables and fruits (except bananas), bran, whole grain flours and unrefined grains.

“And the last, but very important aspect is breathing. Learn to breathe fully - with your stomach and diaphragm,” says Daria.

She undoubtedly has one of the most attractive and sexy figures in the world, and her financial status makes other supermodels work even harder. Finally, the secret of the celebrity’s slim body became known: the star’s personal nutrition specialist revealed her effective diet.

Details of the supermodel's diet have become known

The personal chef of Gisele Bundchen and her husband Tom Brady, Ellen Campbell, said that the star couple's menu consists of 80 percent vegetables and 20 percent pure meat, which does not contain antibiotics and harmful substances. According to the nutritionist, celebrities are literally obsessed with proper nutrition and diet.

Ellen Campbell constantly cooks for Bundchen and Brady in their home in Boston and even travels with them around the world if necessary. It is worth noting that Tom's diet is much stricter than Giselle's. To stay in shape and not gain weight, the football player does not even eat fruits and tomatoes. He has to give up many foods that you and I eat every day.

The athlete is on a strict diet

Sugar, white flour, gluten, fatty meat and products that contain GMOs are strictly prohibited in celebrity homes. Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady are sure that if they are consumed as food, it causes illness and reduces immunity. Therefore, they strictly forbid even their children from eating candy and sweets. The basis of the famous family's menu is fish (fresh and, of course, organically pure), lean meat, chicken and turkey, vegetables and olive oil.

Sweets are prohibited in celebrity families

At the same time, nutritionist Ellen Campbell herself preaches just such a lifestyle - giving up sugar, flour and junk foods. He calls sugar a “deadly poison” and advises celebrities to stay away from it, not only for the sake of their figure, but also for the sake of their health.

Models are the diamonds of the fashion world. They act in films, walk on the catwalk, marry the richest people.

The model's biography is like a fairy tale: having moved from a small Brazilian town to New York, a tall girl with an extraordinary appearance, long hair and eyes the color of the sky conquered the fashion world.

For the year, Giselle's earnings exceed $42 million. She even got into the Guinness Book of Records, as her fortune reached over $170 million.

Height Weight

Height: 180 cm

  • Now many fashion houses dream of seeing Gisele at their shows. It is very popular in eastern countries: China and Japan.
  • At the age of 14, during a school excursion, Gisele Bündchen was noticed by a representative of the fashion agency Elite Modeling and invited her to try herself in the fashion industry.
  • Since then, Gisele has participated in advertising for such famous brands as Dior, Versace, Dolce and Gabbana, Victorias Secret.
  • Giselle has become the standard of beauty and femininity. According to the criteria of the fashion world, her parameters are ideal: 90-60-89, with a height of 180 cm.
  • Gisele has a twin sister, Patricia, and 4 other sisters, each of whom has a modeling career.
  • She says that the main thing for her is family, and she really wants to realize herself as a wife and mother. This will make her a truly happy woman.

Gisele lost the lead for the first time in 15 years, but only because she announced her retirement a year ago. The 37-year-old Brazilian left the podium and took care of home and family. And in between, she earned 17 and a half million - wouldn’t you agree, not bad for a retired model? But seriously, Gisele is not just a beautiful fashion model, she is also a very successful businesswoman. Under her own name, she produces clothes, shoes and underwear. Ipanema beach slippers and sandals are very popular all over the world - 25 million pairs of them are produced every year. In addition, the model showed herself to be a successful businesswoman, investing her earnings in profitable projects, for example, investing in the purchase of land and real estate. Last year she earned as much as $30 million, this year - almost half that, but her income is still impressive. You have to give yourself a break sometime!

Gisele Caroline Bündchen is a famous British supermodel and former model for the Victoria's Secret lingerie company.

A few years ago she gave birth to her second child, but the pregnancy had virtually no effect on her figure, because Giselle used a special diet, thanks to which she quickly lost weight.

What could be more beautiful than a man who hugs your children? That's what Gisele thought and showed a cute photo

I can't handle it, so much love!

In the photo, the stern quarterback (passer) of the New England Patriots team is defeated by his two kids, everyone is happy and this can be called an idyll: “This is beyond my strength, so much love! / I can't handle it, so much love! ", Gisele captioned the photo.

Tom Brady has been playing American football for a long time and very successfully, but this week he suffered a serious setback - the team lost the AFC championship game, and Brady himself received many hits from the ball and condemnation from the fans. However, the support of friends, and especially family, helped me cope with the defeat relatively calmly.

“We love you, dad!” — this poster was drawn by 3-year-old Vivian and 6-year-old Benjamin to support their father at this difficult moment for him. How can you be sad when you have such a support group! The whole family often comes to Brady's games to support him during the game and especially during breaks.

35-year-old Gisele Bündchen is a Brazilian, known as one of the angels of the Victoria's Secret lingerie company, a supermodel, one of the most famous and richest in the world. In addition, Bündchen tried herself as an actress - she starred in two feature films, is the owner of her own brand of underwear, Gisele Intimates, and herself advertises it on television and in glossy magazines. She also became known to movie lovers as the woman of Hollywood heartthrob and model lover Leonardo DiCaprio, whom she dated for more than 5 years.

After breaking up with Leo, Gisele met a handsome athlete, football player Tom Brady. At the beginning of 2009, two years after they met, the young people formalized their relationship and organized a loud and magnificent wedding, and soon it became known that Giselle was expecting her first child. The boy was born in August and named him Benjamin Rain. For Brady, this was already the second child; the first boy was born to him by his ex-girlfriend, actress Bridget Moynahan, with whom he ended his relationship at the start of her pregnancy. However, he acknowledged paternity and was even present at the birth.

In the summer of 2012, the couple announced that they were expecting a second child and it would be a girl. Baby Vivian Lake was born in December 2012.

This unusually beautiful and apparently happy family constantly arouses unhealthy interest among the paparazzi and the tabloid press, the stronger the less reason they give for gossip. So recently the Internet was abuzz with the news that Gisele and Tom’s marriage was on the verge of collapse. Some publications claimed that they were ready to file for divorce. But Brady put an end to the baseless rumors, saying in an interview: “Everything is fine in our family. Nobody supports me more than my wife."

Gisele Bundchen was born on July 20, 1980 in the small Brazilian town of Horizontina. There are Germans in her family who emigrated from Germany in the 19th century, which is why she has a corresponding surname.

Since childhood, Giselle dreamed of a sports career, but ironically, everything changed when she was 14 years old: the girl went with friends to Sao Paulo, where an employee of one of the modeling agencies noticed her in one of the cafes. He offered her a job, but Giselle was not enthusiastic about the prospect of becoming not an athlete, but a model, and initially refused, but her father persuaded her to try herself in the fashion industry.

Bündchen agreed to the filming only in order to receive good money for her work, and at that time she did not even know that this step would become decisive in her career.

After concluding a contract with the Elite Modeling agency, Gisele participated in advertising campaigns for such famous brands as Dolce and Gabbana, Versace, Celine, Valentino, Jafranco Ferré and Ralph Lauren. She also appeared on the covers of Rollin Stone, Vogue, etc. magazines.

In addition to modeling, Bundchen also starred in two popular films at the time - “The Devil Wears Prada” and “New York Taxi”, and from 2000 to 2007. was one of the Victoria's Secret Angels.

While working with this company, Gisele dated the famous Leonardo DiCaprio, but after 5 years of relationship they broke up. In 2009, the girl married football player Tom Brady, with whom she gave birth to a son, Benjamin (born in 2009), and a daughter, Vivian (born in 2012).

What diets does Gisele Bundchen follow?

After the birth of her second child, Gisele Bundchen's height and weight ratio was impressive: 180 cm and almost 80 kg. Having extra pounds caused the model a little discomfort, so she decided to go on a diet, which she usually used before big shows. After losing weight, her weight returned to normal, and now it is only 55-60 kg.

Secrets of beauty and slimness Gisele Bundchen

  • She never adheres to strict diets, believing that a person’s beauty directly depends on his health, and strict dietary restrictions can be harmful. If desired, the model can eat chocolate, but only a small piece;
  • To cleanse the body and maintain a healthy skin color, Gisele drinks a lot of water every day, which is known to actively contribute to this;
  • For makeup, the model uses predominantly golden-beige shades, because... they favorably emphasize her facial features;

  • Giselle’s menu contains a lot of raw vegetables, and she also loves dishes: risotto, pasta, salads, etc.;
  • The model believes that, in addition to diet, sports are also of great importance, so those who want to lose weight should at least go jogging every day.

For girls, Gisele Bundchen's weight loss recipes may come in handy, but it is worth considering that her diet requires adherence to certain rules and small restrictions.

Introduction

If I were going to write a simple chronicle of my life to date, a short version would look something like this.

My name is Gisele Caroline Bündchen. I've been working as a model for the last twenty-three years. I was born in 1980 and grew up in Horizontina, a small town in the south of Brazil, an hour's drive from where you have to cross the river to get to Argentina.

I am a fifth generation Brazilian, although I have German roots on both my father and mother. My parents speak German with each other and Portuguese with my five sisters and me. I'm the middle child. As children, my twin sister Pati and I used to argue about who was third and who was fourth oldest. While I was growing up, I wanted to become a professional volleyball player or a veterinarian.

When I was thirteen years old, my mother, worried about my poor posture - I was already 180 cm tall - enrolled me and my two sisters in a local modeling course. At the end of our training we went on a special trip to Curitiba, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The bus ride seemed endless - twenty-seven hours on the road. Mom came with us, as did some other mothers. In a shopping center in Sao Paulo, a young man approached me and uttered the classic “bad” man line: “Do you want to be a model?” "Mother!" – I screamed, and she immediately ran up to me. But the man - his name was Zeka - was really a scout for the Elite Model Management agency. When we got to his office, Zeka told my mom that I should sign up for the national Elite Look of the Year competition, which she did. I took second place, which I couldn’t believe. As a reward, I received a plane ticket to Ibiza (Spain) to take part in the international Elite Model Look competition. It was my first time on a plane; it was my first trip outside of Brazil. Somehow I ended up in the top ten finalists. Everything happened quickly, very quickly.

This photo was taken for my first portfolio when I was fourteen years old.

A year later, in 1995, I moved to Sao Paulo to begin my modeling career. I was fourteen years old. As you can imagine, moving from a small town of just 17,000 inhabitants to Brazil's largest city was a big change.

After working in Sao Paulo for a few months, the agency sent me to Tokyo, Japan, where I lived for three months while shooting for a catalogue. My first big break came a few years later in London when designer Alexander McQueen chose me to show his ready-to-wear collection. I was terrified. I had to go on the runway without a shirt, the white top was drawn on at the last minute by the makeup stylist. Artificial rain poured from the ceiling.

After the Alexander McQueen show, I received the nickname “Body”, which stuck with me for a long time.

An early behind the scenes shot of a photo shoot. I'm sixteen, filming takes place in Rio de Janeiro

In 1999, I walked in shows for Versace, Ralph Lauren, Chloé, Missoni, Valentino, Armani and Dolce & Gabbana. Vogue magazine chose me to represent the end of the "heroin chic" era in modeling. That year I appeared on the covers of Vogue magazine, once in the French edition and three times in the American edition. One article's headline announced "The Return of Curves." I ended the year having received Vogue magazine's Model of the Year award. In the spring of 2000, I modeled for Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Prada, Valentino and many other famous brands in New York, Milan and Paris. From 1998 to 2003, I appeared in every Dolce & Gabbana fashion campaign, and from 2000 to 2007, I was one of the Victoria's Secret Angels. Over the past twenty years, I've been featured on 1,200 magazine covers, 450 fashion editorials, and 500 catwalks. In 2020, I deliberately reduced my participation in fashion shows because I wanted to focus on family and personal projects. The last time I walked on the podium was in 2016, at the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. I walked down the longest catwalk of my life while the pianist played António Jobim’s “The Girl from Ipanema.” It was amazing! I felt it was the culmination of everything that had happened before.

* * *

All this actually happened, although I have left out the details. This is the story of the “public” me. But the life I lived in public has little to do with who I really am, or what matters most to me, what I believe in and what I want to tell the world.

The irony is that although I became famous as a model, I never felt like the girl on the runway, in magazines and in TV ads was me. At school in Brazil, my classmates made fun of me because of my height, weight and appearance. I don't believe that any level of success as an adult completely changes how you saw yourself as a child.

So when I started modeling, I felt awkward, even though I supposedly had model looks. It didn't help my self-confidence that some people in the business told me my eyes were too small and my nose and breasts were too big. At fourteen, nothing made me more self-conscious or self-conscious than a designer telling me I was pretty, a photographer telling me how to stand, or an editor making comments about my body, eyes, or nose. as if I wasn't in the room.

That's why, at about eighteen, in an attempt to protect myself, to keep myself from getting hurt and turned into an object, I put on armor. The real me was Giselle, and the model Giselle was just her. That's what I said - she. She was an actress. Performer. Chameleon. An invented character expressing the designer's imagination. I came to work. I understood what the photographer, stylist, and makeup artist wanted. Their ideas came together to create a mood, and suddenly I saw her, felt her. Modeling became a way for me to explore all the colors of my personality, including those I didn't know existed. Becoming her, I could portray any emotion, any attitude. It was as if by being separated from her, I could be free while keeping the real me safe. She could be sexy or demure. She could be a soldier or a shameless woman. She could be a face or a body. The real me never dreamed of becoming a model.

While I was growing up, I didn’t even know that modeling was a real profession. I saw what happened to me as an opportunity to make a living. The doors opened - first one, then another - and I entered them. There was also a practical component to what was happening. As a child, I heard my parents quarreling over money. I thought that if I became a model and possibly a highly paid one, I could help my family instead of being another hungry mouth. So I decided to take the opportunity that presented itself to me and see what would happen.

I'm a baby, at home in Horizontina, 1981

But instead of writing about her, I want to focus on who I am. So in this book, I've shared lessons that have helped me live a more mindful and joyful life, inspired me to overcome the obstacles I've faced over the years (including panic attacks), and given me a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me. .

I learned some of these lessons the hard way, and it was hard. Others I learned by watching others, realizing that this is not the way to do things and that is not the way to behave. In each chapter of this book you will find stories from my life that illustrate the process of my movement forward. Along the way I met many teachers. I realized that nature is the greatest mentor. I learned to listen to my inner voice, which more than once told me the right decision, although I did not want to listen to it. I realized that our thoughts, words and actions are interconnected, and why we need to be careful with them. I began to nourish my body, mind, and soul through meditation, healing food, and a positive outlook, resulting in greater clarity and a clearer sense of purpose. I hope my story inspires and helps you.
