Yoga for the face: 3 exercises for beauty and youth

Strengthening facial muscles

This block is necessary to prevent early wrinkles. It is recommended to perform it in the morning, after waking up. First, perform massage manipulations to tighten drooping eyelids. To do this, use your index and middle fingers. Movements should be smooth, with light pressure. Massage the brow ridges, moving from the center to the temples.

Exercise 1. Eagle owl.

Then place your thumb under your lower eyelid on your cheekbone, and your index finger between your eye and eyebrow. Apply gentle pressure to the facial bones. Widen your eye, being careful not to damage the skin. Hold this for a minute. Then do the same with the second eye.

Exercise 2. Thinker's pose.

Prop your face with your hands on the sides and find support for your chin. Slowly move your jaw left and right and back and forth for two minutes. Try to be relaxed while doing the exercise.

Patting.

This element is more of a massage. Lightly pat yourself on the cheeks and head with your palms. Don't forget about the chin, using the backs of your hands for this. Such manipulations activate blood flow. Don't be alarmed if the skin turns a little red.

Important points

  • Each session consists of four stages: meditation, massage, self-perception techniques and complete relaxation.
  • You need to exercise when you are feeling well and an hour after eating or on an empty stomach. During practice, you should not think about extraneous things and solve pressing problems. It is recommended to free yourself from routine burden as much as possible.
  • There should be no distractions during class or in real space. You should choose a comfortable time and place, and if possible turn off your phone and other gadgets.
  • It is recommended to perform all exercises while sitting, with a straight back.
  • Before starting classes, thoroughly wash and warm your hands. Stretch your neck and shoulders. Also use light tapping movements over your face and head. All this is necessary to increase blood flow.
  • Mental concentration is very important. During practice, you need to focus on each element. Imagine that the skin is gradually smoothed out, blood circulation increases, and the muscles are saturated with oxygen.
  • At the end of each session, it is recommended to lie on the floor or close your eyes while sitting and let every muscle, every cell on your face and neck relax. And also wish yourself a good mood.

For fine/deep wrinkles

Particular attention in yoga for facial rejuvenation is given to the problem of combating wrinkles. The nasolabial and brow ridges are the most common and deepest. Therefore, this block contains exercises aimed at eliminating or smoothing out these kinks.

Exercise 1. Pipes.

Keep your back relaxed and straight. Draw out your lips with a tube. To enhance the effect, press your finger on your lips. Provide a little resistance. This exercise helps prevent/smooth out wrinkles around the lips and nose.

Exercise 2. Arrow.

Crow's feet, or wrinkles around the eyes, are another common problem for most older women. To solve it you will need a piece of ice. Apply it to the corner of your eye and hold for about a minute. Breathe calmly and relax. Wrap the ice in a napkin if it causes discomfort when touching your skin.

Exercise 3. Surprise.

Now you should pay attention to the bridge of the nose and forehead. Yoga for the face for this case includes a very effective exercise. Place the index and middle fingers of both hands on your forehead. Using light pressure, pull the skin first up and then towards the temples. Feel how wrinkles are smoothed out. Relax. Stay in this position for a few seconds. Rest and repeat three more times.

Exercise 4. Lev.

Take a deep breath through your nose, clench your fists and tense your facial muscles. Exhale through your mouth, stick out your tongue and open your eyes as wide as possible. Unclench your fists. Hold this for 10 seconds and relax. Repeat two more times. This element helps to stretch the facial muscles and relieve tension from them.

Reviews

Volnushka: Really, why are the facial muscles worse than all the others? They also need to be kept in good shape if you want not only your body to be young. I really like yoga, I go to classes with a good instructor. There are only ten of us in the group, each with an individual approach. I noticed that training relieved me of lower back pain, and my gait became more graceful, my mood was often high, there was a smile on my face and, of course, a sparkle in my eyes. I have become a calmer, balanced and harmonious person. Of course, a lot depends on the teacher. I changed several before I found my one.

Alisa: My new neighbor, a very active and well-groomed woman, encouraged me to do gymnastics and facial massage. She has been taking care of herself all her life, making homemade masks, using a mesoscooter and practicing facial yoga. Looks great without any cosmetologists or plastic surgeries! Following her example, I am slowly starting to study. It’s a pity that in my youth there was no one to tell me, after forty everything is more difficult... But still I see the results of my efforts. My skin looks clearly better, so I don’t plan to stop.

Reykjavik: I would like to take classes with some famous facial yoga instructor. It seems to me that he can well replace a good cosmetologist. But for now I’m working at home. Facial massage did not suit me. Even despite the visual videos, I’m afraid of ruining my skin. Still, you need to understand with what force you need to squeeze and pull it. But I enjoy doing yoga. Just 10 minutes a day, and how much benefit! I do this mainly in the evening, and I even sleep better, somehow stronger and calmer. Not to mention the fact that the face has noticeably tightened and the muscles have become stronger.

Correction of facial contour

With age, you can observe how the corners of the lips droop, the shape of the cheeks changes, and a double chin appears. This cannot be avoided, but you can cheat time and slightly delay the aging process. This technique is recommended to be used after 25 years.

Exercise 1. Jaws.

Open your mouth slightly. Fix your jaws in this position and close your lips. Pull your chin forward as much as possible. Breathe calmly. Stay in this position for 5 seconds. Feel your neck tense. Now slowly move your jaw left and right, holding each position for 3 seconds. Relax. Repeat two more times.

Exercise 2. Kisses.

This simple element consists of rhythmically stretching the lips forward (as if in a kiss) and returning to the starting position. Do the exercise for a minute so that wrinkles do not gather around your lips.

Exercise 3. Ball.

Puff out your cheeks as much as possible. Then slowly move the internal air clockwise. Make 5-7 turns and carefully release the “ball”. Rest a little and repeat a few more times.

Exercise 4. Fish.

Pull your cheeks in and pout your lips. Now try to smile in this position. Feel the muscle resistance. Hold for a few seconds. Rest and repeat four more times. This exercise will remove “hamster cheeks” and tone up the facial muscles.

Set of exercises

A complete complex of yoga for the face by Annlise Hagen includes 12 basic (basic) exercises (plus massage). In this article they are divided into groups according to the method of influence. Classes can be general (preventive) and targeted (aimed at solving a specific problem). In any case, before starting practice, it is better to consult a cosmetologist or dermatologist (if you have serious skin diseases).
