Making a passport completely or partially unusable is one of the options for losing a passport. In this case, you must immediately contact the Navy unit (Federal Migration Service of Russia). If you apply to the territorial division of the Navy (passport office) at the place where you have temporary registration or do not currently have registration at all, the period for issuing a passport will increase to two months.

What kind of damage can cause a passport to be considered worn out and unusable?
1. Violation of the integrity of the passport (missing pages, cover or photograph, torn or heavily frayed pages).
2. Visible consequences of exposure of the document to fire, water, chemicals, which led to complete or partial unreadability of information, blurring of stamps and seals.
3. The passport has extraneous notes, drawings and other marks that are not specified in the “Passport Regulations”.
