When the muscles of the outer thigh are in hypertonicity, the legs become curved in an X-shape, and the foot tends to turn inward, and the person “bumps” when walking. Hypertonicity is a condition when muscles are under constant excessive tension. In this state, they are shortened and tightened, so a person quickly gets tired under load and his coordination of movements decreases. Hypotonicity is the opposite condition, where the muscles are stretched and relaxed, and it is difficult to “make” them work.
