Alexander Golovin, actor, personal life: biography facts
Alexander Golovin was born in the Czech city of Brno on January 13, 1989, where his father, a military pilot, was sent for military service. The mother was a housewife and was involved in raising Sasha and the boy’s older sister, Evgenia.
After his father retired, the Golovin family returned to Moscow to open a small hardware store in the capital.
The acting biography of Alexander Golovin began by accident. Mother decided to enroll Sasha’s sister in Vyacheslav Zaitsev’s modeling school, and Sasha begged her to take him to the casting too. The brother and sister were enrolled in studies, and there Sasha was noticed by Andrei Belkin, an actor at the Sovremennik Theater who taught acting.
A sensitive teacher and professional in his field helped the boy discover his talent to the fullest.
Childhood and early career
Alexander Golovin was born in the small Kuzbass town of Kaltan on May 30, 1996. Sasha dreamed of becoming a professional football player and playing for the Russian national team since childhood. He set this goal for himself and systematically moved towards it. Since there were no good football fields in the town, he started playing in the hall. Then he was taken to the school of Novokuznetsk "Metallurg-Kuzbass", the father took his son to training 30 kilometers away.
Sasha’s parents had nothing to do with sports, but the family’s tradition was hiking in the Altai mountains, thanks to which the boy grew up strong and resilient. At the age of 11, Golovin was brought to Moscow for a tryout at the Moscow Spartak school, but the future Russian football star was not accepted there, citing “lack of ability.”
From the age of 14, Alexander studied at the Olympic reserve school in Leninsk-Kuznetsk. His talent, which the capital’s specialists did not see, was considered by coach Sergei Vasyutin, who had previously trained the ex-captain of the Russian national team Alexei Smertin. During these years, Golovin hardly stood in goal, he tried out everywhere, but he still found himself in the center of midfield. Alexander worked out the most, staying for a long time after finishing training.
Alexander Golovin, actor, personal life: acting career
Golovin’s first acting job was filming in Nike Borzov’s video “Three Words,” when the young artist was ten years old.
Two years later, Sasha received a cameo role in the film “Pale-faced Liar” by Vitaly Moskalenko.
The next stage was the main role in the film “Lord of the Puddles,” where the boy played a little cadet at the naval school, Vanya. The short, fair-haired boy captivated the audience. This role largely determined the future role of the young artist.
After the release of the film, Golovin starred in the humorous film magazine “Yeralash”, where Sasha participated in thirteen issues.
At the same time, the young actor, not intending to stop there, decided to try himself on the theatrical stage.
Alexander auditioned for the children's troupe of the musical "Nord-Ost" and went down in history as the first performer of the role of Sanya Grigoriev as a child in the first Russian musical. Golovin, who was not involved in music professionally, was surprised to discover his vocal talents.
In 2004, Alexander acted as a presenter paired with Masha Rybakova at the Kinotavrik children's film festival.
A year later, together with Anya Tsukanova-Kott, the young man repeated the presenter’s experience at a concert dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Jumble.
At the age of fifteen, Golovin received one of the main roles in the patriotic series “Cadets”. The artist's character is Mikhail Obolensky. Golovin’s “cadet” image was developed in the role of Maxim Makarov in the large-scale project “Cadetism,” which continued with the television series “Kremlin Cadets.”
The relaxedness of Cadet Makarov, coupled with humor and charm, made this character a favorite of young fans of the series.
Alexander also voiced a character in a computer game based on the “cadet” TV series.
However, Golovin’s real serious acting work, appreciated by critics, relates to playing the main role in Alexander Atanesyan’s film “Bastards,” based on the story of the same name by Vladimir Kunin. Alexander got to the shooting by chance, he thought that he wouldn’t even have time to get to the casting.
The young actors spent a long time preparing for filming and underwent serious physical training, which allowed them to perform most of the stunts on their own.
The film itself caused many contradictory responses and complaints due to its provocativeness and free interpretation of historical material. At the same time, critics agreed that Alexander Golovin, who played the role of a street child named Cat, played beyond all praise.
For his high skill, Alexander was awarded the MTV-Russia film award in the Breakthrough of the Year category.
Alexander Golovin’s theatrical experience includes more than a dozen performances, among which there are both works based on already sensational projects (“We are playing Yeralash”, “Cadet Blues”), and plays based on classical works (“Decameron”, “Viy”).
The lack of a diploma from a theater university does not prevent him from performing as part of the troupe of the Moscow Independent Theater and receiving applause from an admiring audience.
