Every year, the Cannes Film Festival attracts thousands of guests from all over the world, hundreds of world cinema stars, 4 thousand journalists and more than 35 thousand specialists who fine-tune the entire process to perfection. In recent years, events in Cannes can also be observed online - the film festival has its own channel on YouTube. The most anticipated event of the 69th festival is the premiere of the film by Venezuelan director Jonathan Yakubovich “Fists of Stone” with Robert De Niro in the title role. In Yakubovich's new film, the actor played the role of the legendary trainer of the 70s and 80s, boxer Robert Duran.
The film festival opens with out-of-competition film , High Life , which tells the story of a guy who came to Hollywood in the 1930s in the hope of conquering his bosses and becoming a world-class star. Instead, he is drawn headlong into the quagmire of love affairs typical of any secular society.

Films of the Cannes Film Festival
The main principles that are followed when selecting films for the festival are their artistic content, and not the influence of the countries represented in the competition. The festival also supports filmmakers from developing countries or those who are persecuted for their political views.
Applications for participation in the competition program are accepted from everyone. Those whose films will be shown are selected by members of two commissions. The first selects between French directors, the second among representatives of other countries.

As a rule, films by established directors are shown at the festival. But there are also debut works from promising participants.
The main thing is that the film has not been shown anywhere before to the general public. As a result, about eighty films premiere at the Cannes Film Festival every year.
