Now every fan of Russian melodramas knows Olga and Tatyana. And what did the Arntgolts sisters look like when they came to conquer Moscow, having nothing in their souls? (Photo)

How girls from Kaliningrad ended up in Moscow

Olga and Tatyana Arntgolts ended up in Moscow at a very early age, immediately after graduating from the lyceum school, where they studied in a theater class. It was no coincidence that they arrived in the capital - the teachers of the lyceum advised them to do so.

Before this, the girls had already been to the capital more than once and sincerely loved this city. They never considered him cruel or cynical, but they took his conversations about the difficulty of living and living in the capital seriously.

The Arntgolts sisters arrived in Moscow not alone, but in the company of six classmates, but out of the whole company, only three entered the Shchepkinsky School: Olga, Tatyana and Artem Tkachenko.

Cinema

Olga Arntgolts made her film debut in 1999, receiving a role in the youth series “Simple Truths.” She played Masha Trofimova, the twin sister of Katya Trofimova (Tatyana Arntgolts). This was the actress's first work together with her sister. Then she starred in the mystical film “Cleopatra” from the film anthology “The Black Room”.

Olga could have ended up in the series “Next” in a scene where she appeared in a dream as a double of the main character, played by Tatyana. But on the day of filming, Olya had a test at school, and she could not come. A similar story happened on the set of the melodrama “Three Against All,” where she played the main role, Elena Vlasova. The actress explains: “In the series “Three Against All,” the director also came up with a scene where in Yura’s (the same one who offended my heroine) dream I split into two. To do this, it was necessary to invite Tanya. But this time it was not possible to film with my sister. There was no time."

The series “Three Against All” immediately made the young actress Olga Arntgolts very popular. Over the course of 30 episodes, the film was in full swing with Shakespearean passions. In the story, Lena's father goes missing and her mother falls into a coma. Together with their brother and sister, they are trying to survive in this cruel world, overcoming the greed and cynicism of others...

And yet, the sisters’ dream of playing together in one film came true. This happened in 2003 in the detective series by Rauf Kubaev “Why do you need an alibi?” Olga played the main role of the pretty and attractive Angelica, and Tatyana played the supporting role of Natasha. In this film, the sisters had the opportunity to play with such cinema masters as: Mikhail Zhigalov, Vadim Andreev, Olga Ostroumova. And their main partner was their childhood idol, Alexander Domogarov.

"Russian"

In 2004, Olga Arntgolts was approved for the main role of Svetka in Alexander Veledinsky’s film “Russian”. It took a long time to find an actress for this role. And then, when there was already talk about inviting one of the French stars, the director, quite by chance, saw photographs of Olga and Tatyana, who were being registered with one of the acting agencies. Pointing to Olya’s photo, he asked to find her. By a strange coincidence, for some reason they began to look for Tanya, who, having met Veledinsky, agreed with him to star in the film. But work on another film prevented her from taking part in this project.

How was life in Moscow at first?

Initially, the girls had a hard time. During their studies, they lived in a dormitory, where they accommodated four people in one room. The actresses once recalled how Tatyana, seeing the conditions in which she had to spend time, burst into tears: the scribbled walls, ugly floors and windows did not impress her. However, through joint efforts, order was restored in the room, and then student skits and birthday parties began - life became brighter.

Initially, none of them even dreamed of becoming a movie actress - they simply had no idea how they would get there. They hoped to simply get an education and then serve in the theater. But life decreed otherwise.

Interview

About myself and my sister:

Like all twins, the Arntgolts sisters are very attached to each other. Olga admits: “I always feel when Tanya feels bad, I know why this happens to her. I shake when she takes her exams. Before we left for Moscow, my mother said: “How will you continue to live? You can't live without each other. After all, someday you will have your own families and affairs."

Despite the fact that the sisters are similar in appearance, they are different in character. Olga Arntgolts says: “When we were still at school, I was always afraid of being late for the first lesson. She told Tanka: “Let’s run, we’ll be late!” “No,” she answered, “we’ll have time.” I couldn’t stand her calmness and ran forward. Now Tanya has become more sentimental. I, on the contrary, am sharper, tougher.”

“In our couple, I am the mind, and Tanya is the feelings. That is, I am more serious, reasonable. More collected. Tanya is a rather absent-minded person. He may forget about some things and then start doing them feverishly. I don't like being late. Punctuality is in my blood."

“And in childhood, we, like any children, could fight, quarreling over trifles - erasers and pencils. In such cases, my mother always said: “Tanya, you’re the eldest. You have to control yourself." Tanya is 20 minutes older than me. That's a lot for twins. On this basis, my sister always got a little more from her parents.”

“Outwardly, we were very similar until our second year. We had the same haircuts. I remember that my sister had her bangs cut off for her first movie shoot. When I saw this, I burst into tears: “Tanya, you and I are not alike now.” She replied: “If you want, I will pin up my bangs and we will look alike again.”

“My sister is the closest and dearest person to me. I am often asked if there is any competition between us in the acting profession. Of course not! In general, I believe that envy of a loved one is a pathology.”

“Tanya films more often than me. She has a lot more work in films. But this doesn’t bother me at all. Yes, even if she filmed three times more, I will only rejoice and wish my sister good luck.”

“Yes, in our profession the element of luck is very important. And we were really lucky. Back in Kaliningrad we were warned: you are similar, and this can play either a deeply negative role or a deeply positive one. Fortunately, so far life is going according to the second, positive scenario. And, frankly, I'm surprised. I won’t speak for Tanya, but I have always considered myself an inconspicuous person. Yes, in fact, I continue to count.”

“We buy each other clothes very often. And we always guess. For example, I’m just sure that Tanya will never buy something that I don’t like. We often exchange outfits...

And we dressed the same until we were about 13 years old. Then we got tired of the fact that everywhere - on the street, in transport - we heard: “Oh, what cute twins!”

To put less emphasis on this, we asked our parents to buy us different things. It got to the point that sometimes on the street they tried to walk away from each other so that our similarity would not be obvious.”

“I remember the period when I first had a boyfriend and I began to spend a lot of time with him. For Tanya this was a real tragedy. Those around her tried to somehow calm her down: “Well, what are you doing? You should be happy for your sister.” To which she replied: “He’s taking her away from me. I was left alone."

And then we switched places. Tanya has a young man. And although I mentally understood how to behave, I still suffered terribly. Apparently, we both needed to experience this. Now, of course, we are wiser in these matters.”

Sisters often ask what to do if they like the same man? And they have an answer to this question: “We feel and understand each other. And if, say, one of us falls in love, the other understands why she fell in love with him and what she found in him. We see right through each other! We decided a long time ago that we would both leave the young man if he became an obstacle between us.”

Olga and Tatyana now

The girls do not regret at all that they once decided to start a creative path together. The two sisters represent eternal mutual support and a valuable friendship that continues to this day.

As children, the girls did not always live peacefully with each other, but with age, all disagreements disappeared somewhere, as soon as the sisters realized that they needed to look for new opportunities in life, and together they were much stronger.

Now Olga and Tatyana Arntgolts are famous actresses who are easily recognized by television viewers. Despite the fact that they appear more often in TV series, they still prefer to work in big cinema, since they require a completely different level of professionalism, and hard work and further development are always interesting.

The sisters are far from events in which the “social crowd” takes part. They try to spend their free time with close people. Tatyana and Olga love going to bowling, cinema and theater, as well as trips to nature.

Biography

Olga was born into a family of actors of the Kaliningrad Regional Drama Theater - Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Albert Alfonsovich Arntgolts and actress Valentina Galich.
She is considered to be the youngest, since she was born twenty minutes later than her twin sister Tatyana. For her unusual surname, the girl should thank her grandfather, Alfons Avgustovich Arntgolts, a German by birth. And when the twins were born, without hesitation, they were named after Tatyana and Olga Larin from the novel “Eugene Onegin.”

“Even at school, my sister and I wanted to become sports journalists,” recalls Olga, “although we grew up in an acting family. Tanya and I did gymnastics, swimming, and were even into ballet. But then we stopped playing sports professionally and decided that we would at least cover it...

Yes, my sister and I never thought of becoming actresses! We didn't even have such a dream. It’s just that after the eighth grade, our parents decided to transfer us to a lyceum, which is considered the best in Kaliningrad. It is almost impossible to get there. And the only class where they could place us, so to speak, through connections, was the theater class. My sister and I resisted terribly and cried. But mom and dad said: “Don’t be hysterical! Here you can gain excellent knowledge in humanitarian subjects.”

In general, we went to a new school on the first of September and did not expect anything good. And when they saw dance, vocals, movement, stage speech in the schedule, they were completely depressed. For some reason it seemed that this was not ours at all. But literally on the second day of classes we fell in love with both the new class and the teachers. We enjoyed participating in theatrical productions. And at the end of the eleventh grade we decided that we would go to Moscow and enter the theater school.”

The final point of training for the girls was the graduation school performance “Little Tragedies” based on Pushkin. Tatiana played Laura in it, and Olga played Donna Anna. The sisters set off to conquer the capital. And on the first try we entered the famous “Sliver”, which we successfully graduated from in 2003.
