How to do makeup for brown eyes? 4 Step-by-step makeup tutorials for brown eyes

Those with brown eyes, more than others, evoke a feeling of trust and reliability in others - this is a fact proven by scientific research. It’s just that owners of this eye color are naturally endowed with some features in their facial structure, which is why people like them.

People with brown eyes, according to astrology, are associated with the Sun and Venus, so they are gentle and hot at the same time. Men believe that this eye color is mesmerizing and hypnotizing, since brown eyes are the most expressive of all. They appear clear and large because they do not blend into the eyeball.

Since ancient times, our ancestors considered women with this eye color to have witchlike attractiveness and gifts, so brown eye color is without a doubt an advantage for any girl. After all, it is the dark-eyed woman who represents the prototype of the fatal and temperamental beauty.

How to calculate a drooping eyelid

The first thing you should find out is whether you need special makeup. If your upper eyelid hangs over the movable eyelid and covers some part of it, you may have a drooping eyelid. Some girls call this effect “hood”, because the visual effect is really similar.

Foundation for make-up

When creating natural makeup for brown eyes, applying foundation is a must. If you have pale skin, it is better to use a peach-colored cream. For reddish skin, a beige foundation with a slight green tone is suitable. And gray skin color will help correct the pink tint of the foundation.

You can also correct your face shape using foundation. For this purpose, they usually use a darker foundation, combining it with a light one.

Thus, wide cheekbones are visually reduced when a darker tone is applied to the side areas of the face. For a triangular face shape, a sharp chin can be reduced with a lighter color, and a wide nose shape can be narrowed with a light line in the middle and darker accents on the sides. For a square face shape, the lower jaw should be darkened. A rounded face shape needs to be made oval - the sides of the face need to be darkened.

Before applying the rest of your makeup, make sure that you have blended your foundation well and that you don't have any visible lines.

Makeup secrets

  • A primer or eyeshadow base should become your faithful assistant in creating long-lasting makeup. For girls with drooping eyelids, this remedy plays a dual role. The fact is that it is difficult for shadows to resist the pressure of their own eyelid, and they need additional support in the form of a primer.
  • If you are a smokey eye lover, you should know that a dark shade of eyeshadow should be applied not only to the movable crease, but also to the area above it. This technique ensures that eye makeup will be visible not only when the eyelids are lowered.
  • A drooping eyelid can visually make your eyes appear smaller. To correct this situation, avoid clear contours and shade the boundaries along the eyelash edge. And also take advantage of the makeup ideas from our article.

  • We advise girls with small moving eyelids to draw thin arrows and gently shade them. Graphic lines will look ridiculous.
  • Sparkling particles on an overhanging area always create an accent in this place. Therefore, it is better to use matte textures of shadows in neutral colors
  • Smoky eyes will be one of the best makeup techniques for you. You can safely use it in both daytime and evening looks. The only taboo will be pearlescent shadows.

Eyebrows are the most important touch of your perfect makeup. The straight shape and arched eyebrows are excluded. Also, they should not be too wide or narrow. The best solution would be soft shading, a smooth bend and a slightly raised tip of the eyebrow.

  • Apply your makeup with your eyes open. Yes, at first it may be unusual, but this trick guarantees that the shadow transitions will turn out the way you intended them.
  • The Cut Crease makeup technique, which is very fashionable in the 2019-2019 season, is ideal for correcting your features. It darkens the fold and the area underneath it.
  • Makeup artists also love to create emphasis on the lips - this is a 100% way to divert attention from the overhanging area.

Makeup for brown eyes with drooping eyelids

An eyeshadow palette, mascara and brushes are “life preservers” for any girl, because with their help you can play up all the nuances.

To visually “open” eyes with drooping eyelids, paint the eyelashes with a fan, and work more actively on the central part, go over the mucous membrane with a light pencil and don’t forget about the eyebrows.

To make the eyes appear wider, the bend in the eyebrow should be almost in the center: between the pupil and the outer border of the iris.

Eyes with drooping outer corners and drooping eyelids are even easier to correct. Lighten the central part of the eyelid, darken the outer edge of the eye and apply mascara. However, touching the lower eyelid is taboo.

Another option is smokey! See how a few touches can transform a girl! And it’s not at all difficult to repeat, right?

Makeup is a delicate matter. To learn how to truly transform, you need to feel colors and know the features of different types of faces. There is nothing complicated about it, and good makeup courses will help you!

What to look for when choosing courses?

  1. The teacher must be a master with good work experience and a portfolio. It is important that he knows how to explain and that his presentation is close to you.
  2. The training program must include training on models.
  3. Do they provide models and cosmetics? If not, be prepared to work on each other and shell out another 10,000 rubles for a starter kit.
  4. Number of practical classes. There must be at least 10 of them.
  5. The group size should not exceed 5 people. This way the teacher will be able to pay attention to you and correct mistakes.
  6. Student reviews.

The cost of courses starts from 3,000 rubles and reaches 35,000 rubles.

Learn how to apply eyelashes correctly

A drooping eyelid presents rules for choosing mascara. The best option would be a waterproof extension agent. We advise you not to save money and choose a really high-quality mascara that will not mark and will create separated, voluminous eyelashes. With the impending century, this is very important!

Don't get carried away with carefully tinting your lower lashes, otherwise you risk creating a heavy, gloomy look that definitely won't be your adornment.

The preliminary step before applying mascara should always be curling your eyelashes using a curler. This technique will give them a flirty curve and make the look more expressive.

Do not use mascara of incredible colors - this will only draw attention to your features. You need to paint the entire length of your eyelashes and especially highlight the ends.

Blue eyes

Makeup for beautiful blue eyes is unthinkable without a sand, pink, gold and purple eyeshadow palette. Here is a win-win option for an easy daytime make-up that won’t take you much time.

Paint the entire eyelid with a light matte eyeshadow. Armed with a dark (but not black!) pencil, draw a thin arrow, heading towards the temple. It must be shaded using an applicator or a cotton swab.

Paint the outer corner of the eye with brown shadows and feel free to go into the overhanging area. The eyebrow and inner corner of the eye should be highlighted with a light shade. Lightly outline the lower eyelid with brown shadows, and the mucous membrane with a light pink pencil. Apply mascara to only the upper eyelashes.

Rules for choosing eyelash extensions according to eye shape

To create an attractive image, you need to choose the right size and technique for attaching hairs according to the shape of the eyes and the distance between them.

Correct eye shape

The correct (classic) eye shape is almond-shaped. Its owners can resort to any extension technique. The most optimal is the natural effect and 2D volume.

You can place a light curl on the outer corner, emphasizing the almond-shaped shape of the cut.

Asian eyes

Asian type eyes are distinguished by a narrow cut, the presence of a skin fold (epicanthus) on the inner side and a smooth upper eyelid. The purpose of extensions is to visually open the eye and enlarge the incision.

To add roundness, the inversion technique is used: the longest eyelashes are extended not at the outer corner, but in the middle of the eyelid. The cat eye technique is also suitable for opening and giving expressiveness to the gaze. The use of a strong bend is mandatory.

Small eyes

For those with small eyes, neither long nor too curved eyelashes are suitable. The contraction of the pronounced eyelashes and eyes will visually reduce their size.

To visually enlarge the eyes, medium-length eyelashes are used. The natural extension technique is optimal. The coal-black shade of the material should be avoided, because it enhances the contrast. Instead of black eyelashes, you can use dark brown or a combination of black and graphite. The choice of shade depends on your skin tone.

Big eyes

Large eyes do not require visual opening or increased expressiveness. For constant wear, you can choose hairs of medium length and thickness (10–12 mm and 0.1 mm, respectively).

For stage and festive makeup, it is permissible to use volumetric effects from 2D to 4D. Thick, heavy eyelashes create an unnatural look and unnecessarily load your own hairs.

Round eyes

If the height of the cut approaches its length, then the shape of the eyes is round. The goal of the extension is to bring it as close as possible to the classic almond shape, visually stretching the corners to the sides.

The optimal solution to an aesthetic problem is the cat's gaze method. The use of the foxing technique is also acceptable, but it may not compensate for the strong roundness of the incision.

Protruding eyes

For bulging eyes, it is not recommended to use eyelashes of the same length. Instead of a natural and doll-like effect, you should use the cat or fox look technique. This will narrow the cut a little and stretch out the corners.

To visually cover your eyes, you need to use hairs with minimal bending.

drooping eyelid

If the eyelid droops (the presence of a “skin hood”), correcting the location of the eyelashes and using a large degree of bending will help.

Extension is carried out from the middle of the century, because... filling the entire row enhances the overhanging effect. The area where the hood is located should contain the longest and most curved hairs (up to grade D–L).

Deep-set eyes

When planting deeply, you should focus on the midpoint of the eyelid. To open the eyes, lash artists attach the longest eyelashes with a pronounced bend to the middle of the growth line. This allows you to push your eyes forward and highlight them against the background of the brow ridges.

Strong color contrast exacerbates the depth of planting, so it is recommended to use brown, graphite or mixed material for extensions.

Close-set eyes

The nature of the landing is determined by the distance between the inner corners of the eyes. When placed closely, this value is inferior to the length of one eye.

The purpose of the additional row of eyelashes is to extend the outer corners towards the temples, without emphasizing the inner ones, so as not to increase the incision proportionally. The fox gaze technique is suitable for this. The outer side of the growth line is additionally thickened with fine hairs.

In this case, it is allowed to use contrasting (black), long and curved material.

Wide-set eyes

With a wide fit, the distance between the inner corners exceeds the length of the eye. To reduce this distance, it is necessary to focus on the internal corners.

It is impossible to place the longest eyelashes at the beginning of the growth line, so they are attached to the center of the eyelid. A slight curve opens up the look and draws attention away from the wide fit. The optimal technique is natural extension.

A similar principle is applied when correcting raised corners of the eyes: hairs with a slight bend (B) are used on the outer side, and hairs with a medium bend (C) are used closer to the middle of the eyelid.

Brown eyes

Brown eyes are always beautiful and expressive on their own, and if you complement them with spectacular makeup, a stunning look is guaranteed.

The best eyeshadow colors for you are beige, purple, brown and blue.

Remember this step-by-step makeup tutorial, and it will help you out every time you need to transform into a fatal beauty in a matter of minutes.

Mark the moving eyelid, crease and the area above it with a basic light brown shade. The outer corner of the eye should be darkened with a rich color. Note! The shading should be directed towards the tip of the eyebrow.

Lighten the central part of the eyelid unobtrusively. Highlight the area under the eyebrow with light shadows. Using a damp applicator with dark shadow, highlight the lash line. The final touch will be a layer of lengthening mascara.

Green eyes

We advise girls with green eyes to have plum, peach, purple and golden shadows in their cosmetic arsenal.

You can repeat this makeup for drooping eyelids and enlarged eyes using step-by-step photos for a luxurious evening look. And for daily make-up it is better to choose less contrasting shades.

The common “loop” technique is ideal for green eyes. Shade the outline of the eye with a pencil and draw a loop as in the photo. Use dark shadows to create a soft outline. Paint the entire eyelid with peach eyeshadow. Apply a light tone under the eyebrow and in the inner corner of the eye, and lengthening mascara on the eyelashes - this will open up the eyes even more.

For honey eyes

Honey eyes are a real miracle, shining and sparkling with red shades. In daylight, they themselves resemble the sun, so they need to be emphasized both boldly and carefully so as not to hide their features and advantages. Classic delicate nude in beige tones is almost a classic in 2020. Against the background of a sandy shade, the eyes bloom, a simple spring make-up becomes cleaner and more charming. Bronze tones highlight the eyes and make them more expressive.

Light honey color is still quite light, so black mascara and eyeliner are prohibited. You can try dark burgundy or brown eyeliner.

For an evening out or a party, girls often experiment with shades of mascara. In 2020, a light gradient on eyelashes came into fashion: a dark tone should be applied at the base, and a bright color, for example, beige or light orange, should be applied at the ends. This technique works well for charming almond-shaped eyes, just study the whole process step by step in advance and consider the possible options. The result will be spectacular, don’t be afraid to try new things.

What not to do

Makeup mistakes with a looming eyelid are almost inevitable. Girls rarely know what classic make-up techniques can be included in the list of strict taboos. But we want to protect you from embarrassing beauty mistakes, so we have compiled a rating of the most common mistakes.

  • Too wide arrows look like a dark, incomprehensible spot. But beautiful cat eye makeup with thin elegant lines will be very useful.
  • Soft shading is your everything. This applies to the boundaries of shadows, color transitions and the line of eyeliner or pencil. But for some reason many girls neglect this stage and get the “black eye effect” as a result.
  • False eyelashes are a girl’s main weapon when creating an unforgettable image. But the makeup will be hopelessly ruined if the edge of the tape is wide and has no gaps.
  • The lower eyelid, emphasized with a pencil without shading, is another common mistake.

Shading is the main ally of the impending century

Age make-up

Women over 50 often face the problem of impending age. The most enterprising of them find a solution in proper makeup. Remember these simple rules and nothing can interfere with your impeccable appearance.

  • Choose medium eyebrow thickness and soft contours.
  • The key to perfect makeup is naturalness and authenticity.
  • It is necessary to emphasize the upper eyelashes with a pencil and soften this line with shading.
  • Use matte shadows in muted tones as the basis for your eye makeup. Makeup artists recommend that dark-skinned ladies prefer a beige-brown palette, while fair-skinned women should choose shades of tea rose or ivory.
  • Light shadows should also be applied to the inner corner of the eye.
  • Above the crease of the eyelid, we recommend applying eyeshadow slightly darker than the base color.
  • A thin line of white pencil along the mucous membrane of the lower eyelid helps to enlarge the eyes.
  • The final detail of age-related makeup is a layer of mascara.

We hope that our step-by-step photos taught you how to apply makeup for drooping eyelids and enlarged eyes. As you can see, any feature of appearance can be corrected and delicately hidden. This means there are no barriers to being the most beautiful!

Selection of eyelashes

Eyelash extensions vary in length, thickness and degree of curl. Despite the characteristic names (silk, mink, sable), the material for all types of hairs is obtained synthetically.

Types of bends

The curl on synthetic eyelashes is formed using hot tools. After this, the tip is lightly sanded to thin the hair and give it a natural look. In the practice of lash masters, several types of bending are used:

  1. J(A). This type has the least pronounced bend. The hairs have an almost straight shape and are used to create a natural effect. They are not placed on the area that is traditionally curled with mascara, but rather are attached closer to the inner corner of the eye.
  2. B. This type features a slight natural curl. When creating a natural effect, this degree of bending can be the highest. When there is a strong bend in the longest eyelashes in the working area, type B is used to work on the inner corner of the eye.
  3. C. Curved C eyelashes are characterized by a pronounced curl. This type enhances the expressiveness of the look, but does not yet look deliberately artificial. Long C-type lashes are used to open the gaze and highlight deep-set eyes. You can create this effect in the absence of an extended row using an eyelash curler and intensively lengthening mascara.
  4. D. This degree of bending is used when building up for stage makeup or bright holiday makeup. In this case, the thickest hairs are used. A variation of degree D is the U-type curl. Eyelashes of this type are curved in the shape of a semicircle.
  5. L and L+. The bending angle for this type is 70–80° (for L+ it can reach almost 90°). A distinctive feature of the L-type is that the hairs form not a single arc, but 2 conjugate lines. Material with this degree of bending is practically not used for everyday wear.

Length

The length of the extension material varies depending on the depth of the eye set, the wishes of the client and the degree of curvature used. Lash masters use hairs from 8 to 17 mm long. To emphasize the lower eyelid and inner corners of the eyes, shorter eyelashes can be used - 4-7 mm. The most commonly used eyelashes are 8 to 12 mm long.

Volume and thickness

The thickness of synthetic eyelashes depends on the desired effect. To create a row, hairs from 0.03 mm to 0.2 mm (less often, up to 0.3 mm) can be used.

In classic extensions (to obtain the most natural look), a material with a thickness of 0.09–0.1 mm is used.

Fine hairs add fluffiness and volume to the row, so they are used to create 2D and 3D effects. The largest volume is provided by material with a diameter of up to 0.07 mm. In order not to create the appearance of a brush, thin eyelashes are attached alternately with longer and thicker ones.

Thick hairs (0.15–0.3 mm) can reduce the duration of the procedure, but they unnecessarily load the patient’s own eyelashes, so they are used only in combination with others. Eyelashes with a thickness of more than 0.2 mm can be used for short-term extensions (for example, in preparation for a performance or photo shoot).

Hair material

Artificial eyelashes are classified into mink, silk, sable, etc.

Despite the apparent naturalness, the name does not indicate the material that was used in production, but the thickness and structure of the hairs. Silk ones are the thinnest (up to 0.1 mm), and sable ones are the thickest (more than 0.2 mm).

The material for making hairs is micropolyester and silicone. They retain their bend well, provide shine and do not cause irritation. Natural materials are not used due to the high risk of allergies and the high cost of production.

Build-up effects

The combination of hairs of different lengths and their arrangement allows you to create the following effects:

  1. Natural look. To create a natural effect, eyelashes with medium thickness, short length and curl are used. The inner corner is extended with hairs 8 mm long, and the outer corner - up to 10 mm. The thickness of the material used is 0.09–0.1 mm, but those with strong and thick natural eyelashes can have a row of extensions with a thickness of 0.13–0.15 mm.
  2. Puppet effect. The doll's look is created using hairs of the same length (10–12 mm) and medium thickness. The material in the inner corner may be shorter than the outer corner by no more than 1–2 mm. Fine fluffy hairs that create a strong voluminous effect are prohibited.
  3. Cat's eye. The cat's eye effect is created by a smooth transition from shorter hairs (7-8 mm) on the inner corner to the longest ones (11-12 mm). At the edge of the outer corner there are 2-3 small zones with a gradual decrease in length (10-9-8 mm). The characteristic degree of bending is C–D.
  4. Foxy look. The technique for modeling a fox's gaze is similar to the principle of creating a cat's eye, but the length of the eyelashes increases more sharply from the inner to the outer corner. This allows you to stretch your eyes to the sides and look slightly sideways.
  5. Squirrel eye. In this technique, hairs of approximately the same length are attached to the eyelid (a gradual increase of 1–2 mm is allowed). To fill most of the eyelid, a material with a short length of 6–9 mm is used. On the outer side of the eye, the length of the cilia increases sharply to the longest few, and then just as sharply decreases. This way a “squirrel” brush is formed.
  6. Sun rays. To create a solar effect, synthetic eyelashes with a large difference in length are used (for example, 6–7 mm and 12–13 mm). They are attached alternately. The difference in the length of the material on the inside and outside of the eyelid is no more than 1–3 mm. This buildup technique is also called the rarefaction effect.
  7. Millennium and cocktail. These effects are used to create a festive look. To build up the row, colored hairs, rhinestones, feathers, beads, sparkles and other decorative elements can be used. The basis for holiday compositions is most often the “squirrel” or solar attachment technique.
