Types of cosmetics
Officially, there seems to be no special “summer” cosmetics. In fact, the products we use in the heat are very different from those we use in winter. Actually, any cosmetics aimed at solving skin and hair problems that arise during the hot period can be considered summer. If we were to single out something summery, it would most likely not be cosmetics, but rather these “rules of summer behavior.”
The main pleasures of summer - the sun and heat - turn into the main source of problems for beauty and youth. Judge for yourself: ultraviolet radiation causes the skin to dry out and age, people with oily skin have clogged pores and inflammation, many suffer from the appearance of freckles and age spots, hair becomes dull and becomes like tow - all this is the work of the bright summer sun. The heat causes any cosmetics to “leak” (from mascara to foundation) and instantly clogs the pores, the hair quickly becomes stale in appearance, becomes more greasy, sweating increases, which dehydrates the skin no less than from ultraviolet radiation. Naturally, the question arises - what to do? Strategically, everything is simple: cleanse, protect and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. From a tactical point of view, several rules can be distinguished.
Rule 1: Cleanse
It is necessary to make the skin cleansing ritual more gentle. If the foam is gentle, for sensitive skin. If the tonic is not alcoholic, but, for example, herbal. If it is a scrub, then it is soft, with small abrasive particles and a loose texture. If you have inflammation on your skin, it is better to use Miramistin or chlorhexidine as an antiseptic; unlike alcohol, they do not dry out the skin, which is especially important in the summer. Cleansing masks are also light - these are mousses and foams with cucumber or tea tree extracts.
And try to touch your face with your hands as little as possible! In summer, much more dirt and dust settles on our sweaty hands than in winter, so it becomes easier to cause an infection and provoke inflammation.
How to care for your skin in summer: professional advice
In the summer, every girl and woman wants to look especially beautiful and naturally believes that well-groomed skin is an important component of an attractive image. But, unfortunately, not everyone pays due attention to their skin, which in the summer is exposed to sunlight, dust and other factors. In addition, you must remember that in summer the skin requires completely different care than in winter, and many products used in cold weather may not have the desired effect or even be harmful.
When caring, as always, you should pay attention to two points: cleaning and protection. In both cases, it is important not to overdo it, because the skin already has a significant impact; there is no need to aggravate it with external factors.
How to clean
Let's start with the fact that the risk of acne or blackheads on the face and other places in the summer increases significantly. This is facilitated by a high level of sweating, as well as intense sebum production. To minimize the possibility of such manifestations, we regularly cleanse the skin. Twice a day is the norm for any time of year; in the summer, more frequent cleansing may be required. If you cannot wash your face during the day, then use wet wipes and wipe your face with mineral water or tonic. When washing, you should avoid using soap - it dries the skin, which is usually unnecessary given the similar effects from sunlight and wind. We replace it with foam or mousse. For additional moisturizing, we use light creams containing glycerin, vitamin E, lecithin or aloe extract. It is desirable that the cream also has a sun protection factor of 15 or more.
There are opposing opinions regarding the use of scrubs in the summer - some believe that the frequency of such effects should be increased, others advise, on the contrary, to reduce it. The truth is that there is no single recipe in this matter, and it must be decided based on the individual characteristics of the skin of a particular woman. I would like to advise you to listen to the needs of your body and treat any advice with caution. However, we can say with confidence that in the summer it is better to use scrubs prepared at home, without the use of chemicals. For example, it could be a scrub made from ground coffee and sour cream. It not only helps cleanse the skin, but also has a moisturizing effect.
Those with oily skin should be advised to pay special attention to it. To cleanse, it will be effective to wash your face not only with water, but also with chamomile decoction. But you should not use lotions containing alcohol. They only increase sebum production. The use of masks helps cleanse pores and remove excess oil, the best of which is a clay mask.
As for cosmetics, you should avoid applying multiple layers of makeup and limit yourself to light textures. This will prevent excessive sweating, which is already a significant problem. You can limit yourself, for example, to using BB cream.
What do we protect from?
The sun is what we look forward to most in summer, but it is also the biggest source of danger for our skin. First of all, in the summer the process of photoaging is activated, so it is advisable to treat the skin with protective creams. The SPF level should be selected depending on your skin type; they should be applied every time before going outside; in some cases, if you stay in the sun for a long time, you may need to reapply the cream. After you come home, don’t forget to take a shower and wash off the remaining cream, and with it the street dust. It will be very useful to soothe the skin after sun exposure. For these purposes, you can prepare a mask for the face or the whole body, for example, based on egg white or cucumber.
On clear days, we especially pay attention to the use of sunglasses so as not to squint and provoke the appearance of facial wrinkles.
To protect against dust, we use day cream and mineral powder, which does not clog pores, unlike regular powder. By the way, mineral powder also has a sunscreen effect, so it can be effectively used instead of creams with SPF.
Should I visit a cosmetologist in the summer?
During the summer, it is recommended to refrain from overly aggressive cosmetic procedures. This could be laser rejuvenation or various injection techniques. Of course, they are not prohibited, but it would be wiser to do such things in the spring to prepare the body for the beach season.
For the summer we reserve various wraps and massages, including facial massage. Such procedures serve to relax overly tense muscles of the face and body, which is especially important in the summer. The use of cosmetics during a massage will ensure that the skin is saturated with the necessary components and ensures optimal hydration.
In addition, for the summer we can recommend non-injection mesotherapy, which involves saturating the skin with a cocktail of beneficial elements, including hyaluronic acid. Such an effect does not injure the skin and occurs without complications, while it is highly effective.
Rule 2: Protect
Review your set of creams. All summer products must include mole removal and photoepilation; cosmetologists advise postponing it until the fall.
Dolgireva Olga Mikhailovna, dermacosmetologist, medical:
“In the summer, it is strictly not recommended to do all types of peels, except for almond and gluconic peels, since exposure to sunlight on the skin after such a procedure can cause pigmentation, the manifestations of which the client will have to struggle with all his life. Also, in the summer, you should not remove moles or papillomas on open areas of the body, as this threatens the formation of keloid scars. Due to pigmentation, cosmetologists advise not to do photoepilation before traveling to hot countries. The Moscow sun in this case is considered safe.”
Hydration
You can nourish your skin in different ways, the choice is yours. Biorevitalization gives a powerful moisturizing effect, improves blood supply and metabolic processes, eliminates wrinkles and creates ideal conditions for cell activity, “forcing” the skin to produce its own HA and new collagen and elastin fibers. The problem will be solved by a course of 3-4 sessions. If you are planning a vacation in the south, then another session after your vacation will help your skin recover. Bioreinforcement - a physiological technique that ensures deep introduction of hyaluronic acid into the skin. The effectiveness of the procedure allows us to speak without exaggeration about a radical improvement in skin tone. A course of 3 sessions (1 procedure per month) not only restores hydrobalance, but also ensures the skin's hydro reserve. Dermadrop is the most comfortable way to moisturize the skin: active components are introduced into the deep layers of the skin without injections, without pain and without rehabilitation. Individually selected cocktails at the same time solve other pressing problems: eliminate facial wrinkles, even out the color and surface of the skin, and have an anti-inflammatory effect.
Rule 3: take care of your hair
Shampoos, balms and styling products with sun protection factors are now sold in any cosmetic store, not to mention hairdressers with their stands of professional cosmetics. Choose a shampoo that moisturizes your hair and enjoy the sun in peace. Those who regularly color their hair should take care of color-preserving care before summer: shampoo with special filters, intensive balms and masks that preserve hair color. It is good to use such products in turn with a moisturizer. And don't forget about hats. Hats, scarves, caps are the most reliable protection not only from sun exposure on the hair, but also from sunstroke.

What cosmetic procedures are useful in summer?
You may get the impression that in the summer you should forget about going to the cosmetologist, but this is not the case. Despite the fact that it is better to avoid a number of cosmetic procedures in the summer , there are other opportunities to take care of your beauty and skin health:
- Non-injection mesotherapy is an excellent opportunity to moisturize and nourish the skin in the summer. The product applied by a cosmetologist provides the skin with nourishing mesotherapy cocktails with hyaluronic acid, lipids, etc. The procedure is not only useful, but also pleasant - it refreshes and provides pleasant coolness when exposed to oxygen under pressure. This also produces a rejuvenating effect, because the skin receives not only a range of vitamins and minerals, but is also saturated with oxygen molecules.
- Body and facial massages. In beauty salons you can be offered relaxing massages, lymphatic drainage massages, and massages using masks and light gommage peelings. These restore the water-salt balance, relieve tension from the muscles (including the face, which tenses from facial movements).
- Hydrotherapy is a great solution in the summer. While you should be careful about exposure to the sun, exposure to water in open ponds, pools and spas will be beneficial. However, keep in mind that water does not protect the skin from solar radiation, and feeling pleasantly cool can easily cause a sunburn. In addition, excessive stay in ponds and swimming pools can provoke an exacerbation of chronic diseases (prostatitis, mastitis, cystitis, etc.). When leaving the water tank, hurry to change your swimsuit (for the same reason, so as not to get sick).
- Cold wraps - if hot wraps in summer can cause dry skin, then cold wraps will be the ideal solution. Algae, menthol or floral, they will even out the skin, ensure its firmness and elasticity, reduce varicose veins, and produce a pleasant cooling effect.
It is necessary and recommended to completely abandon professional facial cleansing in the summer, but this is not a categorical instruction. Laser facial resurfacing, deep and medium peels are dangerous for the formation of sunburns - then the surface epidermal layer is exfoliated and the skin is completely defenseless under the influence of ultraviolet radiation and photoaging processes. If you give preference to superficial peels, for example, glycolic peels, and avoid tanning after them, harm can be avoided. However, even such gently treated skin is best protected from the sun as much as possible - use daily not just a day cream with ultraviolet protection, but sunscreen emulsions with a high SPF factor (70-100).
Skin care in the summer should be in no way inferior to that at other times of the year. Consider the seasonal needs of your skin and choose cosmetic procedures based on your capabilities.
