The face and voice of the famous Russian TV presenter are familiar to everyone. The girl’s success and recognition came after the release of a project called “Star Factory” on television.
Then she received no less interesting proposals for cooperation, in each of which she declared herself to be a professional, hardworking and versatile person.

Childhood, parents, education
Yana Alekseevna Churikova was born on November 6, 1978. At an early age, she and her family moved to Hungary, where her father was sent, he was a soldier. As for my mother, she is an economist by profession.
The girl spent her childhood in a city called Tekel. As a teenager, Yana clearly understood that she wanted to become a journalist, so she signed up for the youth newspaper “Glagol”, where they taught writing skills and interesting presentation of text. Later, the girl returned there to work as a correspondent.
Churikova is a graduate of Moscow State University, the girl studied at the Faculty of Television and Radio Broadcasting
Television career: Star Factory, 12 angry viewers, other shows and competitions
Churikova is the permanent host of the Star Factory musical project; she accompanied the guys for all seven seasons. This work was especially dear to her; she became attached to the participants with all her heart.
Yana has repeatedly become the presenter of many prestigious awards, including the Golden Gramophone. For several years she participated in a live broadcast from the global music competition “Eurovision”.
In addition, Yana participated in a television show called “12 Evil Spectators.” The essence of the program is to watch and discuss new music videos. In 2020, the program was returned to the air in an updated version, and Churikova was invited to the role of host.
Churikova enjoys participating in programs where she shows good results, and in the show “Together with Dolphins” she became the winner
MTV CEO
In the fall of 2013, the Russian TV presenter was appointed to the position of general director of the MTV Russia television channel, then it was already in an updated form. She manages it to the present day, and copes with her responsibilities very well.
Confidant of V.V. Putin
During the 2020 presidential elections, Yana became Putin's confidant. In addition, the girl was a co-host of a concert that was organized to support the candidate, it was held in Luzhniki. Dmitry Guberniev and Fyodor Bondarchuk appeared on stage with her.
Yana Churikova and Ivan Urgant were the first to greet the public at the opening of the Olympics in Sochi
Where does he live?
As for her place of residence, we can only say one thing: she is a native Muscovite. Churikova carefully protects her personal space, so no one knows where exactly she lives. Even when her car was stolen, and this story was included in the reports, the statement indicated that it was stolen from the driver’s house. Thus, the star again hid her address.
The only photo of the TV presenter's apartment was taken in the kitchen while preparing the cake.
Inna and Yana Churikova: famous namesakes
Yana is often credited with being closely related to the famous actress Inna Churikova; some even considered them mother and daughter. The women really do have a striking resemblance.
In addition, the press often raises the topic that success came to the TV presenter too quickly. Many colleagues were inclined to believe that she had an all-powerful protégé, and, again, they saw the same Inna Mikhailovna as a patron.
In fact, there are no family ties between Yana and Inna, they are just namesakes who are very similar to each other
Master class from Yana Churikova
Those involved in television know that every year, before the presentation of the big TEFI award, the TEFI-Region competition is held in several stages.
This year, the final stage of “TEFI-Region” will take place in the city of Svetlogorsk, Kaliningrad region at the end of April, and the first two took place in Stavropol (direction: “Information Broadcasting”) and Yaroslavl (“Educational and Entertainment Broadcasting”).
At each such gathering of representatives of regional television companies, the television academy, together with the Praktika School of Television, which is based in Nizhny Novgorod, organizes master classes where television stars share their experiences. Vladimir Pozner’s master class was published some time ago by RG - Nedelya. And today - notes from our observer, made during a lesson with Channel One TV presenter Yana Churikova and an interview with her. By the way, few people know that Yana works not only for “First Button”, but also for the satellite TV channel “Expert”, and is also the artistic director of the School of Contemporary Variety, Film and Television. verbatim
The topic of Yana Churikova’s training is “Universal journalist: working in different formats and genres.” And on it she said:
About work experience
— I worked on television as a correspondent, an author, an editor, and a chief editor of the program production department before getting into the camera. They don’t really like interns on TV - no one wants to bother with them. Therefore, you need to know the TV kitchen from the inside. So that when they give a full-fledged task, the person will already be, as they say in the topic. Instead of asking: “What is this?”, “Where is it?”
About working with guests in the studio
— Sometimes a person comes to a program and has a press release in his head. And he doesn't give anything else away. You can ask him any questions, he will not answer anything more than what he is “programmed” to answer. These types of shows are my least favorite.
How to prepare for filming a TV show
“Sometimes you spend the whole night preparing.” You don't sleep, you cram. In the morning you come to the set, and... you don’t remember anything. Like in an exam. Then you need to immediately before the program not think about the guests, about the speakers, but just go have a coffee and discuss the weather. Relax - in a word. And go into the studio, as they say, with a clean slate. And all the necessary information will emerge as soon as you start working.
TV professional motto
— My professional motto: “Being ready for a bummer is our strength!” Anything can happen, no one is immune from anything. On any shoot, you can fall into the so-called ethereal stupor. Or someone more professional than you will come. But this shouldn’t be a “break off”. The willingness to laugh at yourself is the main thing that helps you cope in any situation.
How to take a break from work
— I returned to growing plants in pots. Rhododendrons, philodenrons, all sorts of other dendrons. The humidity on my balcony, where the flowers grow, has already caused the plaster to collapse...
About the appearance of the TV presenter
“I’m better in life than on the screen.”
About the Channel One show “Cruel Intentions”
— This program is licensed. But in Russia, many changes were made to the format. We added a studio. The artist Sergei Ivanov made the figures in the Indian style, and so authentically that it amazes me how they could not have existed. And Dmitry Dibrov in the role of the wise gaucho fits into the setting so much that he seems to be one of these figures, and you are sincerely surprised when he comes to life. We, Kirill Nabutov and I, behave differently than our foreign colleagues - we act a little. And we laugh at ourselves. We cannot bully the participants like the presenters in a foreign format, because our viewer was raised by us ourselves. He will not tolerate such humor because he is not used to it.
About universal journalists
— I personally dream of such station wagons, when it’s not a “talking head” sitting in the frame, but a person in the topic who has his own opinion and who cares. I dream when many people will appear on our television, free in the frame.
About the most important
— When you make a broadcast, the most important thing is that your conscience does not succumb to the persuasion of your ego.
How to switch from entertaining TV to serious TV
— When I sat in the frame on “Expert,” it was important to remove some special “tricks” of the presenter that I had when hosting entertainment programs. That is, when pronouncing the text, one should not wave one’s hands, raise one’s voice, or laugh, but use other techniques and develop a calmer tone of delivery. If you have just entertained the viewer, then before you sit down on camera to host a serious program, you should work on yourself no less seriously. You need to find the switch within yourself and switch. When I come to the Expert channel, people in the editorial office relax and even if they have just written a serious text, they start joking and having fun. Apparently, they associate me with something light and entertaining. On the contrary, I’m tense. Now in the morning I have to read the business press - Kommersant and Vedomosti. Even the Expert magazine. Although, after reading each issue, I feel a state that I privately call “The Scarecrow and his Straw Brains.”
About teaching activities
— The profile of people who come to our EC TV school is such that they come to us with the mood of “Make me a star!” Like in the fairy tale about Cinderella - so that the pumpkin immediately turns into a carriage. I'm trying to tell people that even the most expensive carriage will turn back into a pumpkin if you don't put in the effort. If you only want to be in the frame, then we are out of the question. My studies begin with a change in a person’s attitude. In general, I believe that a person should come to television from a newspaper. And if not from there, then at least be able to write a meaningful text, where there is a beginning, a climax, and a denouement. Therefore, our educational process begins with a routine - we learn to write texts. The main thing in our profession is the word. And universal or not universal - the word is our everything.
DIRECT SPEECH
Russian newspaper
: Yana, you say that you read serious newspapers in the morning...
Yana Churikova
: And “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” too. Because it voices the official position. And laws come into force after they are published by you. So I read the whole spectrum of the press...
RG
: The question is related to the fact that, excuse me, it is very rare for TV presenters, especially entertainment programs, to have a thought flash in their eyes. In this regard, you differ in a favorable direction. What a TV presenter should watch and how to prepare for broadcast. Do you feel any responsibility to TV viewers?
Churikova
: There are two different questions here. How to prepare is one thing. But the effect, apparently, comes from responsibility. When you care. And you can cheer yourself up by the fact that, firstly, you don’t want to lose your face, and secondly, you yourself should be interested. Otherwise, there is simply no need to choose this profession. I would simply dissuade those who want to get into the frame for the sake of the frame - do not come if you are not interested in life as such. If you are not interested in anything in life except yourself, it is better not to choose this profession. Even if you have an attractive appearance and speak well...
RG
: But we have so many presenters who are fixated only on themselves.
Churikova
: So what. Life will still put everyone in their place.
RG
: What kind of school are you teaching at?
Churikova
: This is EK TV - School of Contemporary Variety, Film and Television. We are located at the Gorky Film Studio. It accommodates children from 6 to 16 years old and adults from 16 and older. It was created a little over a year ago, and I was attracted at a stage when nothing existed. It was difficult for me to immediately agree, because I had never studied pedagogy in its pure form. And I didn’t know whether I would succeed or not. But, you see, I am the middle link in the chain of transfer of professional experience. Having learned a lot from my elders and accumulated my own baggage, I am ready to share with those who come after us. In addition, I am the artistic director, my task is to plan in which direction to develop. In particular, since September I want to reformat training, add new disciplines, and make it even more adequate to the modern situation. Unfortunately, the country today does not need too many singers or TV presenters. And tomorrow - who knows? But at least the skills that we are developing - anyone will need them.
RG
: I remember your work at Eurovision. You conducted the draw, and I was pleasantly surprised by your good level of English. How important is this for a TV presenter?
Churikova
: Definitely! Today, without knowing a foreign language, there is absolutely nothing to do on television. If a person wants to be part of the global environment, he must read English-language sites on the Internet. The transition from mentality to mentality is already underway. What to do now - English is a global language. We won't get away from this.
I worked for MTV, and this was originally a foreign structure. Each of us performed several functions at once. I was also a translator. At all conferences when Americans came, I translated. But knowledge was still lacking. I wasn't familiar with half the TV terms. She asked me to explain this or that with my fingers. The foreigners laughed and explained, and I got my universities.
RG
: What kind of sports uniform should a TV presenter wear? You took part in the show “Circus with the Stars,” for example.
Churikova
: (Laughs nervously.) Well, that’s it - just laughter.
RG
: Laughter with laughter. But even now, when I watch “Cruel Intentions,” I understand that without good physical preparation, I can’t get anywhere. Tomorrow you may be offered this or that project. How to always be prepared?
Churikova
: It’s clear that it would be necessary. I can't say I'm a fan of the idea of being on Cruel Intentions as a contestant because I'm scared. I'm standing on the side and I'm afraid. RG: Do you do anything yourself?
Churikova
: After giving birth, I can’t go back to the gym. And I must say that this time it doesn’t bother me at all, because I spent many years in the gym, lifting all sorts of weights, building up muscle mass and losing fat. I can’t say that it helped me much in terms of volume - I’ve always been strong. But this sport perfectly prepared me for childbirth. I didn’t have half the problems that women usually have. In particular, with the back.
RG
: I was waiting for your return to the air after giving birth. But I see that you work very hard. How does a child fare without a mother?
Churikova
: (Sighs). We cope. Here I prefer to put an ellipsis. Everything is fine.
RG
: Yana, they say that the era of entertainment television is coming to an end. Again the emphasis is on information broadcasting. Maybe you started collaborating on the Expert TV channel because you felt it.
Churikova
: I don’t quite agree that the era of information is now coming. After all, the viewer is already accustomed to some special television dishes. Entertainment is here to stay, at least not for years to come. But with us everything is modified. And any genre ceases to be as pure as it once was. News is no longer really news—some new colors are added to its presentation. Entertainment formats are also trying to expand their space. In particular, in “Cruel Intentions” Dmitry Dibrov is doing this in the role of a seasoned gaucho - he is trying to transfer all our action from a sports and recreational one to a philosophical plane. Therefore, I will not make loud statements and I think that television will develop the way it develops. And the trend towards mixing genres will continue.
RG
: When you, as a presenter, go on stage with Ivan Urgant and Alexander Tsekalo, do you have any complexes? Like, they’re so witty, what am I doing here next to them?
Churikova
: (Sad). Firstly, Urgant and I in this trio for some reason began to kill Tsekalo...
RG
: For some reason? He gets wet both in “ProjectorParisHilton” and in “Big Difference.” I even feel sorry for him sometimes.
Churikova
: Secondly...You know, being paired with Vanya, it’s easier for a girl, no matter what she is, to give her lines. Because Urgant is self-sufficient. I don’t “fail” in any role that fate has in store for me—I take everything as practice. At least this allows me to avoid adjusting the crown on my head and leave it somewhere else.
First husband Gregory: development of relationships
Yana met her first husband at one of the concerts. That day they talked a lot and walked for a long time. Already seeing her off, Grigory proposed to the girl. Despite the fact that they have known each other for only a few hours, she gave her consent.
It was a bright and romantic relationship. She recalls how one day he got bored and flew to see her in France, where she was for work. Moreover, he appeared in front of her in a tuxedo.
But after some time, the couple realized that they were not ready for family life, so they filed for divorce. The presenter has very warm memories from this marriage.
Biography
Yana Alekseevna was born in Moscow on November 6, in the family of an economist and a military man. The nomadic life of the officer father brought the young family to Hungary, where the little girl spent her childhood. But she went to the first grade of a general education gymnasium in her homeland, in 1985. At the same time, the girl studied at a music school. She mastered the piano “excellent”. The future multimedia personality had unusual dreams about professions. As a teenager, Yana Churikova wanted to study the remains of extinct animals. But the desire to become a paleontologist was replaced by the idea of singing.
With the curiosity of a teenager, she tried to take in everything at once. The girl realized that this could become her profession. So, she joined the editorial office of the publication “Glagol” in 1992 and worked there for four years. At the same time, he received silver at the Literature Olympiad. Next, the future celebrity will receive professional education at Moscow State University. M. V. Lomonosov. Yana chooses journalism to be closer to television (1995). It is his influence on the consciousness of the masses that the journalist will choose as a topic for her thesis (2000). For example, let’s take the activities of the Russian music channel – MTV. To grow her professionalism, she takes up practice from the first days of training. At this time, Yana Churikova is working in a program on author’s television – “Vremechko”. Here the young correspondent begins to learn the basics of creating a talk show. Then on MTV Russia she becomes the face of the programs “12 Evil Spectators”, which brings her recognition, and “Big Cinema”. The girl got a job here, “embellishing” her age a little. The revelation was not followed by dismissal - Yana had a positive impact on the growth of TV ratings. She also combines her postgraduate studies with work in the media - this is collaboration with television, programs on Channel One - “Objective” and “Good Morning”.
Since 2002, a program began to search for artistic musical performers in a project that combined daily living in a reality show format, as well as performances at weekly concerts. “Star Factory” needed a lively and educated presenter. Yana was invited to play this role. The producers appreciated her work, so she did it for all 6 seasons.
The project occupied all the free time of the journalist, who practically lived in the studio, but by force of will returned home to at least get a little rest. Fatigue does not have the best effect on her appearance. And for public figures this is important.
The role of the “all-time leading” celebrity was cemented after working in the “Universal Artist” project (where singers performed compositions of different musical genres). She also voiced and commentated for Russian TV viewers at Eurovision. The talk show star was then in the last trimester of pregnancy.
The list of events hosted by Yana Churikova includes such well-known projects as the “Golden Gramophone” (awarding performers for the best songs), the opening of the Anzhi Arena in Kaspiysk, the show before the opening and closing of the main sporting event of the beginning of the third millennium - the Olympics. 2014 in winter Sochi.
The flexibility and professional growth of the star lies in the fact that she is not afraid to participate in competitive programs as a participant - this is “Two Stars” (with Prokhor Chaliapin), the extreme show “Circus with the Stars”. At the end of 2020 - beginning of 2020, viewers saw the popular presenter in a swimsuit in the show “Together with Dolphins” and the dangerous television project “Without Insurance.”
Now Yana Churikova is the editor-in-chief of the “best magazine about stars” called “Viva!”, the director of “MTV Russia” and the head of the “Viacom” music channels in the Russian Federation. With such a busy family, the journalist has practically no time.
Second husband Ivan Tsybin: what is known, the reason for divorce
The second official husband was the famous director Ivan Tsybin. Moreover, their romance began at work, they were working on a project alone. Churikova was not embarrassed by the rumors that circulated among her colleagues; she did not pay attention to the age difference; her lover was nine years older than her.
At the time of the breakup with her second husband, Yana was pregnant, and the father of the child was not Tsybin at all
The girl, without hesitation, accepted the offer of marriage, despite the fact that Ivan had already been legally married twice and had children. Three years later, Churikova left her husband and announced a divorce.
Third husband Denis Lazarev: who is he, daughter Taisiya
The famous TV presenter also had an office romance with Denis Lazarev, which they carefully hid for a long time. The acquaintance took place in 2009, when she came to work as editor-in-chief of the VIVA publication. Denis was a member of the board of directors.
At that time, the girl was still in an official relationship with Tsybin, but as soon as she received a certificate of divorce, she immediately moved to live with her lover.
In the spring of 2009, Yana and Denis had a daughter, who was named Taisiya
In 2020, the couple announced the end of their relationship. The reason for the breakup was her career as a TV presenter; according to her husband, she devotes much more time to it than to her family.
Daughter Yana’s hobbies include snowboarding, skiing, and yoga. Recently, the girl has been diving, Yana attracted her to this. The TV presenter has been practicing scuba diving for 15 years.
The daughter took after her star mother, she is a versatile person, she is attracted to absolutely everything new
Personal life of TV presenter Yana Churikova
Does the star have a family and children? How does she manage to combine both her personal life and career success? Yana manages to do everything and everywhere, thanks to her innate optimism and activity bordering on hyperactivity - that’s what she says about herself.
Churikova Yana was married twice. Her first husband was the famous Russian director and presenter Ivan Tsybin. The man was much older than Yana, more experienced in every sense - he already had a marriage and a divorce behind him. His second marriage also broke up - Churikova and Tsybin divorced four years after the wedding, in 2008. There were no children in the marriage, and there were no mutual claims after the divorce.
Yana Churikova’s second husband is a businessman, owner of a PR agency, Denis Lazarev. They have a common daughter, Taya. The girl was born in 2009, and her parents formalized the relationship only 2 years later - in 2011. But this TV presenter’s marriage also broke up, and again after 4 years. In 2020, it became known that Yana and Denis are no longer together, but sometimes they appear “in public” together. More often these are children's events, where they come together with their common daughter Taisiya.
Former spouses never talk about the reasons for the divorce, and it is their right to limit outsiders’ access to their personal space, to make decisions without listening to the public and without fear of reaction to them from the outside.
Yana Churikova now
Yana Churikova does not relax today. Immediately after the self-isolation regime was lifted, the TV presenter visited Rostov and Tver.
Also during this period, she and the Russian Geographical Society announced the start of a competition called “Discovering Russia.” According to the conditions, participants must talk about places where they managed to visit or relax.

Yana Churikova has said more than once that at some point her life turned into an endless struggle with excess weight. The TV presenter claimed that she weighed about 100 kilograms. True, looking at the fit Yana, it’s hard to believe.
Yana Churikova prefers active recreation. Vacation for her is not lying on the beach, but an exciting adventure. For many years, her favorite hobby has been diving. After hundreds of dives in a good half of the globe, the presenter even joked: “I feel like a fish!”
Now she loves to go SUP boarding in the sea . The TV personality posted several photos from Gelendzhik on her blog. She appeared before the public in black mini-shorts, a white transparent T-shirt and a black bikini.
“As you already understand, I am a lady of strong build, and I am not at all shy about it. But I won’t allow myself to fall into the trap of pseudo-body positivity (not to be confused with body positivity). For me it’s like this: as soon as you “let go” of yourself, a complete hello will begin. I simply don’t have the moral right to eat with the same mouth, as if I’m not myself, and to urge everyone to love me for who I am. Although I will never in my life “sham” anyone for being overweight. I myself weighed under 100 kg, I know what it’s like ,” the 41-year-old celebrity frankly wrote.
She said that on vacation she allowed herself to relax. “I won’t lie, I also took a break from basic physical training during the holidays. But if there is an opportunity to relax actively, I’m in!” Yana emphasized.
Churikova also posted a photo in a black swimsuit . The celebrity showed off her curvy figure to the public; she sits on the shore and sunbathes.
Previously, Churikova reported how she fought against excess weight. “When I was losing weight, then gaining it again, and bulimia was giving way to anorexia , I suddenly developed a fixation on sweets. I devoured kilos of cakes! Fortunately, I gradually learned to tell myself “enough is enough.” Now I can easily replace the cake with nuts, dried fruits, and dates. Although I don’t refuse homemade baked goods, prepared with love... I only sacrificed fried potatoes forever. I loved her very much before. I was ready to do a lot for fries!” she shared.
At the same time, Yana is sure that even the most brutal fast food will not affect your figure if you consume it in the first half of the day . By the way, it was her hobby - diving - that always helped Churikova lose weight. Because underwater it takes a lot of energy.
By the way, she does not jog or go to the gym. “Cardio training and running are, in my case, killing my joints. Now, for me personally, Pilates, swimming and yoga are the most convenient. If I understand that a load is needed, for example on the buttocks or arms, I simply add a certain exercise. I do yoga in the morning: either a shortened program - 15 minutes, or a full one - an hour,” says the TV personality.
She doesn't eat anything before training. He just drinks a glass of water. Then breakfast. “I love porridges, for example millet. I don’t understand the lamentations of some girls - “necessarily water and no sugar”! It's breakfast, baby! He must charge it so that the strength lasts for a long time. Sometimes they say: “I eat gluten-free, lactose-free, caffeine-free.” It’s like non-alcoholic beer and a rubber woman!” says Yana.
