Born on August 20, 1971 in Odessa in the family of jazz saxophonist Mikhail Iosifovich and fashion model Nadezhda Arkadyevna Kostyushkin, in 1972 the family moved to Leningrad, where Stas spent his childhood. Paternal grandfather - Joseph Mikhailovich Shulman (born 1911) - front-line journalist, holder of the Order of the Red Star[1].
Stas's father was a famous jazz saxophonist, so Stas grew up listening to jazz concerts and communicating with jazz musicians; jam sessions were held at their house at night. The musicians called Stanislav Puna, when Stas was little he looked like a black child, they dedicated a song to him: “Oh you, Puna-karapuna.” At home, Stas played the piano from early childhood[2].
Since Stas’s mother was a fashion model, in 1976 (at the age of 5) Stas was photographed for a children’s fashion magazine; he was put on a yellow shirt with a wide collar and a checkered black and white jumpsuit with an image of an animal on the chest[3]. As a child, I went to Odessa in August, sold watermelons with my mother at the Odessa market, sold a watermelon to Mikhail Zhvanetsky when his mother, a fashion model, hid under the counter, her mother worked with Zhvanetsky in the same show, she was embarrassed by the fact that she was selling at the market.[4]
To tell the truth, I only recently fell in love with Odessa; as a child, it seemed like a real hell to me, because I was brought there in August, when none of the children were there, I had no one to communicate with - only my mother, grandparents. I don’t even have childhood friends in Odessa - I had one, but, unfortunately, he died. And, to be honest, I don’t often remember my childhood: I’m not one of those people who loves this period of life. Why? Probably because in childhood a person has no freedom, he is always told what to do, where he can go and where he can’t, put on a hat, take off a hat, find a hat... My parents were not tyrants (mom is a fashion model, dad is a jazz musician, what kind of tyranny is there?), nevertheless, I felt freedom only at 18.
— [5]
At one time I was a poor student at school. His parents were very surprised that he could come home at eight in the evening, all wet, because he was climbing in the reeds on the Bavarovka pond[2].
I was always a loser. I was such an outcast in class. Throughout my life throughout school, at music school, I was an absolute zero. Yes, I couldn’t study well, because at night I woke up: dad came drunk, we fought, we had fights. And then from time to time such huge grenadiers Skvortsov-Stepanov came and twisted my father. Therefore, there was no time for my personality.
— [6]
I went to music school, piano and singing, and was a soloist in the school choir. Stas had an operatic voice[7]. At the age of 14 he began attending the judo section[7]. I also went to a theater club, I really wanted to become an actor
I really wanted to be an actor. And on the way to the LGITMIK theater institute, a girl Nastya Barteneva meets me and says: “Where are you going?” I say: “Yes, I want to find out what exams are in LGITMIK and try to pass.” She says, “Are you stupid? What exams? What, aren’t you going to sing?” I say: “No, I want to be an actor.” “You need to sing! Go to the conservatory!
— [6]
Education
In 1989, he graduated from the Leningrad Music College named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov in piano, studied in the same course with Anna Netrebko, Stas’s mother wanted him to marry her, but Stas did not want that[8]. As a student, he often worked as Santa Claus[9].
In 1989-1990 he studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory in the Netherlands.
He also graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory (vocal department)
Theater "Through the Looking Glass"
After studying in Holland, he began working in the children's theater “Through the Looking Glass”. At the theater he met Denis Klyaver; it turned out that Stas’s father, Mikhail Kostyushkin, is Denis’s favorite musician, and Ilya Oleynikov, Denis’s father, is Stas’s favorite actor[7]. His future wife Marianne also worked at this theater[7].
"Tea for Two"
From 1994 to 2012 he was the lead singer of the group “Tea for Two”, together with Denis Klyaver. At first the group sang as an opening act for Laima Vaikule, then they started performing themselves. Soon the group became very popular, toured extensively, but broke up[7].
Solo career
He organized the group “Stanley Shulman Band”, performs works of the “academic pop” genre in it, named after Stas Kostyushkin’s paternal grandfather, journalist Joseph Shulman[10].
In 2012, he launched a new project “A-Dessa”. The most famous songs of the new project are “Fire”, “Woman, I don’t dance”, “Tuzzik”, “3G” and “I am a ballroom dancer”.
Since December 2020, he has been hosting the “Very Karaochen” program on Muz-TV.
Duet “Tea for Two”
An amazing coincidence: it turned out that Stas’s father was the favorite jazz musician in Denis’s family, and his father, Ilya Oleinikov, Stas really liked. Friendship and common interests, as well as the ambitious dreams of young and talented guys, allowed them to create the star duet “Tea for Two”. So in 1994 the musical group Kostyushkin and Klyaver appeared, whose producer was Sergei Kuryokhin.
The duet debuted with the single “Pilot”; a little later the guys made a video for this song. Mikhail Shufutinsky was the first to invite talented singers for joint tours. Together with the chanson star, the duo began touring throughout our country and abroad. Next on the path of the wonderful duet was Laima Vaikule, who included them in her solo project. Kostyushkin and Klyaver performed in the program together with the famous singer.
This became a breakthrough for beginning performers, the “Tea for Two” duet was noticed, and at this time the performers were gaining experience. During the period when the duo toured with Laima Vaikule, Stas Kostyushkin became acquainted with a completely new world of show business. The duo's performances gradually turned into mini-performances; the artists played out the plots of their singles, turning the concert into a show program.
In 1996, the duet “Tea for Two” performed at the “Song of the Year” with the composition “Cheryemukha”, thereby Kostyushkin and Klyaver opened a new page in their creative biography. The performance of two talented singers became significant for them and their group. In 1997, the duo released their debut album “I will not forget...”, which brought them great success.

Singer Stas Kostyushkin and his wife Yulia are expecting their second child. The long-awaited baby, whose gender the happy parents do not reveal, will be born in December. The musician’s wife told the website 7days.ru about her pregnancy.
“I’m in my fifth month. A future child is a long-awaited gift from fate for us. We have long wanted our son Bogdan - he is almost nine years old - to have a brother or sister. And so the Lord sent us this happiness,” Julia shared her joy.
The expectant mother easily tolerates pregnancy: she feels normal, toxicosis does not torment her. “I’m just getting ready to give life to another little person - and this is an indescribable feeling, a whole cosmos of emotions, no matter how many children a woman has,” she admits.
Thanks to her interesting position, Julia can not deny herself food: “I enjoy the fact that I can afford to eat everything! Previously, when I was preparing for the world championships in acrobatics, or when I worked on television, I constantly limited myself. And now it’s a happy “meal time” for me: I eat bread, potatoes, and pasta.”

True, because of this, Kostyushkina has already gained eight kilograms. So she had to buy a larger size underwear. However, she assures that the excess weight and belly are not yet very noticeable - she doesn’t even have to wear special clothes for pregnant women yet.
Nine-year-old Bogdan, having learned that there would be another child in the family, at first experienced a slight shock and even burst into tears. Now he kisses his mother's belly and talks to the future baby.

Four years ago, the Kostyushkin family experienced a tragedy. Julia found out that she was pregnant, but this news did not bring her joy. “I suddenly realized that I was not ready to have a child. There was a conflict within myself. I began to think: “We have a child, he is growing up now, he needs so much. And here is the second one...” And the house is rented, and this is a huge expense item. In general, due to the fact that there was no normal ground under my feet and no understanding of what would happen tomorrow, I was in complete denial of my situation. But I couldn’t allow myself to think about abortion! And suddenly the doctor told me that I had an undeveloped pregnancy. I felt an incredible shock. It’s like a blow to the head…” says Yulia in an interview with OK! magazine.
The doctor explained to Kostyushkina that the body rejected the unhealthy fetus. The couple did not tell anyone about their trouble and tried not to discuss this topic among themselves.
At the beginning of this year, the musician’s wife underwent serious surgery on the lymph nodes. Despite this, she did not stop dreaming of a baby, and then a miracle happened.
Let us recall that from his second marriage Stas Kostyushkin has a 12-year-old son, Martin.

It was because of Marianna that Stas created the group “Tea for Two”, became rich and famous, but the marriage broke up, she left for someone else.[8][18][19]
- Second wife (May 29, 2003[20] -2006) - Olga - originally from Magadan, dancer (we lived together for 3 years), Stas loved, got married. Stas leads a healthy lifestyle - he does not drink or smoke, and practices boxing.[5]
What does Kostyushkin do during quarantine with children?
Recently, musical performer Stanislav Kostyushkin shared photos with his grown-up heirs, which show how they spend their time in quarantine. The singer sets a good example for his children. The former lead singer of “Tea for Two,” as you know, has three sons.

The elder Martin was born married to Olga. In just a few weeks he will celebrate his seventeenth birthday. Stas very rarely shows it to fans, unlike his younger children, who were born in marriage with his current wife.
Kostyushkin made a video of himself playing sports with Martin and his younger sons Bogdan and Miron. The music artist captioned it like this: “All the men are assembled. We start the morning with gymnastics. Dad doesn’t want to give in to his sons!” Fans of the singer noted that the father sets an excellent example for the children.
Business projects
I have a childhood friend, Borka Kopylov, who emigrated to Israel 18 years ago. He left to win and conquer, but, like many, he probably didn’t defeat anyone and, alas, didn’t conquer anything. When we met, he was already 35 years old. I tell him: “Fight, come home! There is some free money, so let’s open our own business!” Four years ago, he came to Yulia and I’s wedding, and I suggested that he open a chain of cafes. They began to think about which ones, and then they remembered their childhood. Borya, like a real Jew, always knew how to run a business. We were nine years old then. He comes to me one day and says: “Do you have twenty kopecks? Went! Now we’ll make a ruble out of them.” The cinema cost 10 kopecks, ice cream, and not the most delicious one, cost the same. In addition to this, I also wanted donuts and tea. So, we came up with a fantastic scheme. They approached people and asked them to change a twenty-kopeck coin. They cried that they were lost and that we urgently needed to call home. People simply gave us two kopecks, and in an hour we managed to collect sixty kopecks.

Stas Kostyushkin is actively developing a chain of cafes in shopping malls, which he opened together with his childhood friend, chef Boris Kopylov (b. 1971; Leningrad)[27][28].
In 2020, Kostyushkin had three donut shops - one in St. Petersburg and two in Rostov-on-Don[29]. TV presenter Lera Kudryavtseva bought a franchise for the production of donuts from Stas Kostyushkin in 2020[29]. In 2020, he opened a “Donut Wagon” in Moscow, Khimki Park[30]. Since 2020, it has been producing and selling its tea “My Tea”[31].
I also opened smoking rooms where you can smoke and drink coffee.
you arrive at Sheremetyevo, smoke, drink a cup of espresso, and get on the plane. In Russia there are restrictions related to smoking, and we cannot afford to open such a room everywhere, but where we can, we build, and people are grateful, because they don’t have to go somewhere around the corner to smoke. I myself am a non-smoker, but I do not condemn those who have such a habit, since it is impossible to eradicate something that has taken root since the time of Peter the Great.

Family of Stas Kostyushkin
When his son turned one year old, Stasik began to live with his mother and father in the city on the Neva. My father became a member of an orchestra that performed jazz music. From that time on, the boy began to absorb a love of music. His father's cheerful friends nicknamed the boy Puna, and then dedicated one of their compositions to him.
The popular artist’s mother was involved in modeling shows. She wanted her son to follow in her footsteps. At the age of 5, Stasik appeared on the pages of a modeling magazine. But then the young model refused to take part in the filming. Currently, my mother runs her own atelier, where famous people of the country and the world place orders.
The family of Stas Kostyushkin is currently happy. The singer communicates with his parents, believing that each of them deserves to be happy.
Stas Kostyushkin's family was ordinary by Odessa standards. The parents decided soon after the birth of their son to move to Leningrad, since his father was invited to work as a saxophonist in a jazz orchestra. Since childhood, Stas has become accustomed to the company of adults - his father’s friends, his work colleagues. They gave Stasik the name Puna, since he reminded them of a tiger cub. One of the songs of the music-jazz orchestra was dedicated to him: “Oh, Puna-karapuna.”
Stas's mother was a very famous model. She wanted to make her son a star in the modeling business. At the age of 5, he was photographed wearing a yellow shirt that had a wide collar and a checkered black and white jumpsuit. There was a drawing of an animal on the chest of the jumpsuit. The photo was posted in a magazine that featured fashion trends for children.

His parents divorced in the late 80s, but Stas communicates with them in the same way, believing that each person should have their own personal life. Recently, Stas’s father married again, which he notified his son about only after the fact. The singer was very surprised, but congratulated his father and his chosen one.

The eldest son of a famous singer
It was hard not to notice how Martin had grown. The eldest son simply captivated the singer’s fans. Many fans left comments under the video: “How grown up”, “I didn’t even think that you had 3 sons, all handsome.”
It should be noted that Stanislav Kostyushkin’s departure from his previous family occurred with a great scandal. The musical performer left his wife Olga when their son was one year old. This happened after the singer met Julia. The artist said that he had remorse for a long time. But he couldn't cope with his feelings.
According to Kostyushkin, he never walked either left or right. There were 4 girls in his life, 3 of whom he married. If in his second official marriage the singer was to blame for the breakup, then his first relationship fell apart through no fault of his own. The musical performer said that Marianne was unfaithful. The artist learned that his first lover was cheating quite by accident - from his neighbors. Having learned about Marianne's infidelity, he decided to divorce.
