Benefits of olive oil for skin

Olive oil is rich in beneficial substances. Vitamin E helps remove harmful substances and free radicals. Vitamins A and D keep the skin young, promote skin renewal processes, as well as rapid wound healing.

Carotene protects the skin from exposure to ultraviolet rays. In addition, olive oil helps soften the skin and maintain moisture balance.

For fatty

As part of masks, this natural component can improve the condition of oily skin: smooth, tone and reduce the activity of the sebaceous glands.

For sensitive

Olive oil is a natural product. It is also suitable for sensitive and delicate baby skin, does not cause irritation and relieves inflammation.

For dry

Olive oil is indispensable for dry skin. It helps retain moisture, leaving skin smooth, fresh and rested. The oil can be used for dry skin on the hands and neck.

For the fading

Olive oil is beneficial for skin that has undergone age-related changes. It makes the skin young, moisturizes and smoothes out small wrinkles. Olive oil only helps retain moisture, so be sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.

Lemon juice

Lemon juice exfoliates lips well and brightens them a little. If you mix 1 teaspoon of lemon juice with the same amount of honey and half a teaspoon of castor oil, you will get a mask that will act as a light whitening peeling and at the same time nourish the delicate skin of the lips. The mixture should be left on the lips for no more than 10 minutes and then washed off with water.

It may not be the season right now, but it’s a good idea to remember how to care for your lips in the summer. Especially if you are planning a trip to hot countries.

Coconut oil for hair

Legends are made about this hair oil and odes are sung to it from every iron.

Coconut oil is the first of all oils recommended for restoring, strengthening hair, restoring shine and for treating split ends.

I’ll tell you the most popular homemade recipes or how to use coconut oil for hair and what my “before-after” results were.

Let me remind you that my hair is very problematic. Thin, capricious, greasy at the roots, dry and brittle at the ends. At the moment, I don’t paint them so that they periodically “please” me with their loss and generally behave absolutely inappropriately for the amount of money and time that I spend on them.

1. Coconut oil hair mask is perhaps the most popular recipe in the coconut hit parade.

Recipe: 1 tablespoon of coconut oil+yolk of 1 egg+1 teaspoon of honey+2-3 drops of Bay oil

Apply the mask to the roots and entire length of the hair, put on a plastic shower cap on top, and wrap a towel on top to allow a thermal reaction to occur. This hair mask “hits” on all fronts at once, coconut oil nourishes and restores hair, lecithin from the yolk and vitamins from honey saturate the hair shaft, bay oil enhances hair growth.

My reviews - the mask is not bad, it helps in the fight against dandruff and itching and solves most possible hair problems, but I use it very rarely, because... firstly, I try to wash my hair in the morning, but in the morning I never have those 20-30 minutes before washing my hair. Besides, all this fuss with kneading, washing hair... is not for the lazy.

2. Oil hair wrap

So coconut hair oil is most often used to restore brittle and dull hair, 100%

Massage the scalp and entire length of hair with coconut oil. You can add essential oils for an additional effect (lavender - soothes, rosemary will help reduce oiliness, bay - promotes hair growth, rose, neroli - moisturize hair.

With or without a cap is optional. We wait as long as we have enough patience and time. You can leave the oil wrap on for half an hour, but some leave it on all night.

My reviews - I do not recommend using oil ON your scalp if you have a tendency to get oily, or at least do it very often. Personally, long-term use of this oil led to clogged pores, and the ends of my hair eventually became even drier.

I don’t know if this is just a coincidence, but I don’t do any more such experiments with long marathons using the same oil. I remember the advice and recommendations of trichologists, who advise ALTERNATING different oils and NOT using them more than 1-2 times a week.

3. Express hair mask

And this is what I and all those who do not have the time or desire to bother with masks, hats and towels do.

Mix a spoonful of coconut oil and add 2-3 drops of essential oil to a portion of your shampoo. If desired, wash your hair again with just shampoo without additives.

My feedback - recently I personally replaced the oil wrap with this format. The effect may be lower, but the pores do not have time to become clogged. Of the minuses, the hair becomes more vibrant, shiny, but... lighter and airier, dandelion-like. This is not very comfortable for me.

I still like amla oil and bhringraj oil for hair more than coconut oil, because they thicken the hair shaft and visually they look somewhat thicker.

4. Repairing split ends

As a remedy for dry split ends

Distribute coconut oil in a thin layer over your palms and apply it to the ends of your hair with light movements like a special cosmetic silicone oil.

My Reviews - This recipe did not work for me. Perhaps for those whose hair roots are not prone to oiliness, for those who do not touch them from morning to evening, this recipe is suitable. But for me, using oil in this way immediately kills the volume, and besides, if you have medium-length or long hair, there is a high risk of staining your clothes with oil. I don’t know how those who recommend this recipe cope with this problem.

5. Sunscreen for hair

Protection from the scorching sun, hair-drying sea water, and chlorinated pool water.

Apply coconut oil to your hair, tie it in a braid, bandana, or walk along the beach with the “wet hair effect.”

My reviews - if you don’t want to return from the sea with a pathetic washcloth instead of hair, you should take this recipe into service. In addition, the “wet hair effect” from an oil mask on the beach looks very organic and stylish.

Well, if you are planning to treat your hair with oil, I recommend watching the video of Dr. Amina, a professional trichologist, with her rules for choosing and using hair oil.

Olive oil masks

There are many recipes for face masks with olive oil. They can be used for different skin types:

  • for oily skin . Mask of 1 tsp. starch, tomato juice and olive oil controls the functioning of the sebaceous glands and reduces the amount of fat secreted.
  • anti-aging mask . A mixture of olive oil and lemon juice will help fight wrinkles. Combine them in equal proportions and wipe cleansed skin with the product.
  • to add freshness . One of the components of the mask – mint – has a cooling and refreshing effect. Mix 1 tsp. olive oil, mint and honey in a blender. Apply to clean skin for 10 minutes.

Feedback on effectiveness

How effective is coconut oil for lips? Reviews indicate that it gives an excellent effect in combination with honey. If you mix ½ teaspoon of honey with 1 tsp. coconut oil, it turns out to be a homogeneous mass. How to use the finished composition? The skin is cleansed of decorative cosmetics, steamed, then a damp, warm cloth is applied to the lips. Next, a mask is applied for 15-20 minutes, and warm water is used to remove it.

Nivea lip oil has earned excellent reviews from the fair sex. This product contains various emollients:

  • glycerol;
  • Shea Butter;
  • Castor oil.

NIVEA Paradise Coconut lip oil is offered by the manufacturer in a tin can. It has a pleasant coconut scent, perfectly protects and moisturizes lips, and is economical to use.

The oil spreads well over the skin and looks colorless on the lips. Women who have tried this product from Nivea note its amazing effect, greater efficiency in comparison with hygienic lipstick.

After slightly melting it in a water bath, you can then apply the product to the skin of your lips. To obtain a beautiful shine, cosmetologists advise adding a couple of drops of oil to regular lipstick.

FAQ

Olga, 40 years old

- Good afternoon! If I want to mix oils, do I have to heat them? Do they lose their beneficial properties?

Oils for the face, body and hair quickly became part of our everyday beauty routine, although a couple of years ago they were new to many.

These products are really effective in care: when you need to get nutrition and hydration in SOS mode, they do a great job.

It is not surprising that they are now also producing oil-based make-up products - for example, for lips. Some of the most prominent representatives of lip tint oils are Volupté Tint-in-Oil from Yves Saint Laurent Beauté and Juicy Shaker from Lancôme. What you need to know about lip oils and which one is better to choose?

Oil selection

If your skin easily reacts to the effects of various allergens, then you need to be extremely careful when choosing an oil, paying special attention to the properties:

  1. The oil must be natural, without chemical additives;
  2. It must have the property of good penetration into the upper layer of the epidermis, otherwise in the cold period it will freeze on the lips, not providing the necessary protection, and blur in the summer. Only those oils that are perfectly absorbed can cope with the function of nutrition and moisturizing.
  3. It must be remembered that all oils must be selected depending on the purpose. So, if the skin is dry, then it is better to use moisturizing oils; if there are cracks on the lips, then regenerating or antiseptic ones, for example, lavender oil.
  4. The balm that you bought in a store or pharmacy should be easy to apply - with a dispenser or brush. It is not recommended to apply with fingers!
  5. Try using oil. How does it make you feel? Is there any discomfort? Do you like the smell? The balm should be enjoyable and completely satisfying.

Thanks to our recipes, you can make your own lip balm using natural, high-quality oils based on your favorite care products.

The skin on the lips is very thin and delicate. Any errors in care, lack of vitamins or microelements in the body, windy and frosty weather immediately affect its condition.

You can also use for lip care.

The described oils can be applied to the lips as a balm. But in order to achieve the greatest effect, you can add a few drops of essential oils to vegetable oils. Which base oil to choose and which essential oil to add to it depends on the effect you want to achieve.
