Capsule wardrobe

At the age of 40, a woman should already understand what she wants and who she really is. She needs to be able to use clothes and accessories to emphasize her strengths and hide her flaws, present herself correctly, have her own unique style, and reflect her personality.

Bold and daring women can highlight their character traits with punk aesthetics in age-appropriate clothing. Modest and sensitive natures will prefer classics and elegance.

In the wardrobe of a woman of Balzac's age who wants to attract attention and not look funny, there should be the following things:

  • 2 “bottom” elements (skirts, trousers);
  • 5 upper elements;
  • 2 costume options;
  • various accessories.

Having such a “capsule” wardrobe, a woman will not need to make much effort to always look luxurious.

Rules for choosing clothes for women over 40

Fashion for women of Balzac age has its own characteristics, but this does not mean that it should be boring. The irresistible desire of women to look younger than their age pushes them into careless purchases of outfits. But the best choice is the classics. There should be no shapeless outfits. Things should fit your figure, and dresses or skirts should be of medium length. Because short dresses look vulgar at 40 years old. And fashion for the summer season of 2020 only contributes to the right choice.

Classic clothing for women of Balzac age

Classic clothing looks most advantageous on ladies over 40. You can afford to buy expensive, respectable things for yourself by investing in your individual image.

Traditional classics are not boring and banal, but something that will allow a 40-year-old lady to look more advantageous compared to her peers. Moreover, classics can always be combined with trendy fashionable items, complemented with stylish accessories, creating creative looks.

What should a woman over 40 pay attention to in her wardrobe?

Stylists recommend that women over 40 get rid of toxic items in their wardrobe. These are clothes that remind of an unpleasant past, bad events that happened in life. If a ring, dress or coat was given by an ex-man and these things cause sadness, depression, negative memories, it is better to put them in a distant drawer and not wear them.

Women in their forties should also pay attention to their sunglasses. If they are massive or large, then it is better to replace them with models with minimalist details. These glasses will look more appropriate.

House shoes, clothes and linen in the wardrobe of a 40-year-old lady deserve special attention. At home, you should not allow yourself to look unkempt, wear worn-out slippers, a wrinkled, torn robe, washed pajamas and old underwear. This is a sign of disrespect for yourself, and this should not happen.

A WOMAN OF BALZAC'S AGE IS CREATED FOR SEX, LIKE A BIRD FOR FLIGHT

Twelve episodes of “Balzac’s Age, or All Men Are Theirs...”, which started at the end of May and finished at the beginning of June, became our answer to the American series “Sex and the City.” The long-standing debate on the topic: whether there is sex in Russia or not, has continued. But now on an artistic level

ABOUT

The last thing I would like to say is the artistic level of our film, as well as that of Hollywood. That's not what television series are made for. They are made for ratings. And a side consequence of this irrational process is the subconscious complexes of the masses that come to light.

If the series is watched, it means that it has touched some nerve in our community. And if not in the entire community, then in some separate part of it, in one or another age group. Actually, artistic merits in this case do not matter much. A certain aesthetic minimum is important here. We will assume that it is observed in our case as well. And let's not talk about the patient anymore, about art. Let's talk about life.

.. The Thompson man, who won through the court the right to go to work without a tie, ended up on the news agencies and in the news broadcasts of television channels. At first it seems that this happened due to the curiosity of the trial. But upon reflection, you come to the conclusion that public attention was attracted to the “Thompson incident” not by chance and that the public knows better.

By analogy (or by contrast?) we recall our Soviet times, when bosses forbade subordinate ladies to come to work in trousers. We didn't know then that this was called gender discrimination. Gradually, it (discrimination) somehow evaporated by itself, disappeared from the office premises without any litigation. And the trouser suit ceased to be a secondary sexual characteristic.

And the tie, therefore, remained... At least in the West.

And now, when feminism is marching victoriously across continents, a distant friend, Mr. Thompson, has risen to fight for equality with business women. And he won. And he created a precedent.

What is this: a triumph of “machismo”? Or just an act of “male feminism”?

However, no matter what you call this phenomenon, it turns out that, despite all the efforts and successes of the human race in the centuries-old battle for gender equality, new inequality has emerged. Now men sometimes feel at a disadvantage: why is their striptease less popular and respected than women’s, why does the law protect only women from sexual harassment, and not men? Either there their rights are infringed, or here they feel like victims of female chauvinism and snobbery.

Strictly speaking, “Balzac’s Age” is not an imitation of “Sex and the City,” but an adaptation of someone else’s television format to the mentality of the Russian viewer.

“Sex and the City” is an encyclopedia of various conflicts drawn from the experiences of the sexual lives of four girlfriends. Collisions are given not in alphabetical order, but, perhaps, in chronological order - day by day, from week to week. At the same time, a strange feeling remains from the spectacle: it is clear that this is not art at all. Like chewing gum, it’s not food at all. And yet, this audio-visual taffy must have some meaning...

First of all, it is instructive for the female part of the population and optional for the male population.

Our “answer to Curzon” from this point of view is not so informative, not so brilliant. We still live on the streets of broken lamps, where it is not the packed detective Nash in a luxury car who is responsible for our safety, but a team of cops in a broken UAZ, our own guys, eking out from paycheck to paycheck, and not fools to drink.

The American “Sex and the City” was not particularly successful here. So is Detective Nash Bridges. And “Balzac's Age” climbed to a respectable rating height. Just like Streets of Broken Lanterns. Your realities, therefore, are closer to the body, to the matter.

The romantic realities of Russian girlfriends of Balzac's age Vera, Yulka, Alla and Sonya turned out to be recognizable. That's why they resonated. The girls are not all mean. But, on the contrary, they are good, especially in the soul. They are not chasing erotic joys, but happiness. Friendship for them, participation in the fate of each and everyone together is the same as taking part in the family talk show “What a Woman Wants.” Their life is their own, personal talk show. And the man is a representative of some other civilization. Almost an alien. First you need to establish contact with him.

There is an American film about Bambo the pig and his barnyard mates. Domestic animals have their own relationships with each other and with people who are on the periphery of the livestock’s consciousness. Animals are the same people, people are the same animals. They form one community, but represent two different subcultures.

We see the same thing in TV series: “M” is one subculture, “F” is another. Birds-friends, engaged mainly in hunting for males, flock together at a table in a cafe or at a bar counter and exchange impressions, observations, as well as some general considerations.

It's not that all men look somewhat flawed and defective. The fact is that the parties exchanged positions: now it is not “F”, but “M” that is the object of sexual harassment. That is, a man has become a thing and, in some cases, a commodity. Feminism won in two separate television series. And this victory could be considered complete if in its very triumph one did not feel the complex of that very inferiority, which seems to have already been dealt with.

These eternally horny ladies resemble not only Bambo the pig, but also two other literary dogs - Medji and Fidel from Notes of a Madman. They are no less concerned.

“I’ll tell you,” Medji writes to his girlfriend Fidel, “that I have many courtesans. I often sit on the window and look at them. Oh, if you only knew what kind of freaks there are among them.” Well, what follows are details similar to what girls from big cities tell us in the evenings.

Crazy Poprishchin was shocked, but not surprised: “I have long suspected that a dog is smarter than a man.”

A shocked TV viewer could say the same about the woman.

.. It’s always like this: too intense a struggle to blur the boundaries between opposing sides ultimately digs out between them, if not an abyss, then an impressive ditch.
