Too many shades in makeup is no longer fashionable / instagram.com Girls constantly sin by using elements for makeup that have long gone out of fashion and are an indicator of terrible taste.
Note that natural makeup with natural shades and tones is in fashion. Therefore, if you do not want to attract the surprised glances of others and run into criticism, pay attention to what has already pretty much outlived its usefulness in makeup.
Important Tips
Accent
The main thing to remember is that too much does not mean good. An overabundance of cosmetics will indicate that you are a vulgar person who is used to putting yourself on display. At the same time, a minimum of cosmetics will not be able to hide various skin defects. Therefore, always use the rule of the golden mean: either you highlight your eyes or your lips.
Skin tone
No matter what kind of cosmetics you apply to your face, your skin should always be perfect. After all, if the skin is smooth, even, without redness and pimples, you won’t even need to put on makeup.
Red lipstick and the suffragettes
Over the centuries, opinions about red lipstick have changed all the time. In the Middle Ages, such a bold accent could easily become a reason for accusations of witchcraft and burning at the stake. In the Elizabethan era, scarlet lipstick was very popular: it favorably emphasized the whiteness of the face, and it was also believed that this color almost protected against death.
By the end of the 18th century, morals at the European court were so loose that red lipstick became associated exclusively with women of easy virtue. Actresses could still forgive her, but off stage, such makeup was a clear sign of promiscuity.
The negative reputation of red lipstick lasted for quite a long time until the British Women's Social and Political Union Emmeline Pankhurst began using it at the beginning of the 20th century. Suffragettes wore red lipstick to show their opposition. They also attracted attention in more aggressive ways: breaking store windows and organizing protests.
Quite quickly in the UK and other countries, red lips became associated with female empowerment. From that moment until now, scarlet lipstick has been perceived as a symbol of courage, beauty and independence.
Makeup stages
The basis
Always start your makeup with a foundation. Thanks to a properly applied base, you will not only make your makeup more beautiful, but also protect your skin from aggressive compounds in the cosmetics themselves.
Take any cleansing facial toner and wipe the skin with a cotton swab. Afterwards, you need to apply a moisturizer to your skin, which should be selected based on your skin type. When the cream is a little absorbed, proceed to the next step.
Concealer
Concealer will help hide skin imperfections such as redness, blemishes, pimples, vascular networks, large facial pores, and dark circles under the eyes.
Concealer
The best choice would be to use BB cream, which has the excellent ability to fit perfectly onto the skin. Such creams are divided into different types, each of which is suitable for a specific type of face. You can apply it to your face using a convenient egg sponge.
Powder
Loose powder with a mattifying effect will complete the makeup base stage. Apply powder in the “T” zone. It is here that subcutaneous fat is especially prominent.
Sexy makeup. Shall we talk?
Today I would like to discuss with you the topic of alluring and attractive - sexy makeup, share my research on this issue and show photographs of different makeup options. I invite you to view and discuss! Every woman wants to be beautiful, first of all, for herself, but there is also a desire in us to attract the attention of men, right?)) Therefore, I decided to conduct a little research on the topic “What kind of makeup do men consider sexy?” To do this, I made a photo selection of several types of makeup and sent it to my respondents. They could choose one or more options, or formulate their own answer to this question. 20 men aged from 20 to 45 took part in the survey. The options that I offered them were the following (I don’t put the photo here, because it’s not my property))
1. Eyeliner and red lips 2. Colored shadows, neutral lips 3. Bright eyeliner with neutral lips 4. Nude makeup 5. Dark lips, neutral eyes. 6. Smokey eyes, pale lips.
Opinions were divided exactly in half! The two most popular options are winged red lips and nude makeup. Moreover, almost all the men who chose nude named only it, providing the answer with the comment: “And it’s better without makeup at all!” Some of those who opted for winged wings and bright lips called smoky eyes as an alternative, but they were few and far between. And only a few chose colored shadows/bright eyeliner with pale lips as the only answer. No one voted for dark wine lips with “nude” eyes! This is about “voting for a picture”.
But the survey also included masterpiece answers formulated by the respondents)) For example: “Contrasting, but not flashy. Burgundy lipstick, moderately light foundation, expressive eyelashes, well, like in an advertisement about the max factor and neat eyebrows.”
. No, well, did you hear that?
"Moderate light foundation"
Men in life understand more than I thought!))) And here’s another:
“Large bright lips, long eyelashes,
smooth skin . Vulgar, but attractive."
Inspired, I conducted the same survey among women and girls (without offering them pictures)
Here the leaders were smokey eyes and winged eyeliner + red lips (exactly in half!) Only a few girls voted for nude as an alternative to bright makeup. And one of the most popular comments was something like this: “In general, sexy makeup is the one with which the girl herself feels sexy. It has to be organic."
The most creative woman I interviewed wrote a mini-essay on this topic, here is a fragment:
“If we talk specifically about expressed sexuality, and not just attractiveness-femininity, it seems to me that raised eyebrows, with a fairly pronounced arch, are very important. No eyebrows - this is anti-sexual. And just soft arcs don’t roll either, in my opinion. But there are no extremes - house-brows begin to live on their own and pull the blanket over themselves, what kind of sexuality is there..."
And some people, in response to my question, sent a personal photo of me - “Like this!”)) (flattered, yeah))
(avatar on social network)
Well, to end the post, I’ll present you with my photographs in different – the most popular – looks:
Nude
Smokey (I have a bronze accent)
Arrows-red lips
Let the extreme make-up be in the style of young Bridget, which I also used to really love - active arrows on a “clean” face. With this makeup I feel young and languid)
As it turns out, men are maximalists. Either give them a “washed” woman, or give them full “war” paint)
Personally, I consider the image from the title photo to be the sexiest for me - bloody lipstick, winged eyeliner (with a drawn corner) and false eyelashes that form a slight breeze) As one smart man said above: “Vulgar, but attractive”)))
And you, dear girls? What makeup is the sexiest for you? Which of my options did you like? Let's discuss this!))
ps - initially I wanted to write instructions for all my images, but I realized that reading it for you would last until dawn) so if anyone is interested in looking at any of them - write, I photographed everything)
With love, Annushka.

Using a clean eyebrow brush, comb your eyebrows in one direction and lightly tint them with a pencil. You choose a pencil depending on your hair or eye color. You can find out how to choose a color for brunettes and blondes by following the links.
The future of makeup: bare face or sparkling mask
When we at Woman.ru published material about Alexander Wang’s show as part of New York Fashion Week, most of your comments were devoted not to the collection itself, which critics unanimously recognized as super successful, but to the images of the models. And it was predictable: in a black-black hall, girls reminiscent of gloomy ghosts walked along a black-black podium.
However, this is how many of us look in the morning, without really having time to wake up and put on makeup.
This is the effect that the makeup team that prepared the girls for the Alexander Wang fashion show achieved. The models didn't even apply concealer under their eyes, limiting themselves to a couple of swipes of the lightest powder on their cheekbones and a generous dose of dry shampoo at the roots of their hair.
Then bare-faced models were spotted in New York at the Proenza Schouler duo show.
Just a week later, something similar happened in Paris at the show of the ultra-fashionable brand Balmain. The only difference was that the models no longer looked like ghosts. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Georgia May Jagger, among others, walked briskly along the bright catwalk. There were no traces of makeup on their faces either. Top makeup artist Tom Pecheux still ordered a little transparent concealer to be applied to their eyelids, but, frankly speaking, he was not generous. And no mascara.
Runway makeup is a long-standing topic of heated debate. The top makeup artists themselves, who are responsible for the models’ images, do not call for copying the “looks” they created, but over time, even the most daring makeup ideas from the catwalk are implemented in real life.
Suffice it to recall the legendary smoky eyes, which shocked viewers at fashion shows a little more than ten years ago, but are now considered a makeup classic.
The same was true for the black nail polish that debuted on the runway. Now, slowly but surely, unusual lip shades are coming into our lives, which we still see on stars like Rihanna, but believe me, the day and hour are not far off when blue-blue lipstick will become an excellent finishing touch to makeup.
Perhaps the whole point is that makeup artists working with designers at fashion weeks are engaged by cosmetic concerns. Pat McGrath designs makeup for Dolce&Gabbana, Tom Pecheux does the same for Estee Lauder, Peter Philips collaborates with Chanel, Charlotte Tilbury has been creating for her own makeup brand for some time now. This means that the ideas that came to their minds in a burst of inspiration have a chance to be realized in makeup collections for a wide consumer audience.
But what to do with the “naked” faces that models so often showed at next season’s shows?
Firstly, no one is asking us to give up makeup: it is simply impossible, and it is not beneficial either for women who want to look a little better, or for manufacturers who earn a lot of money from sales of products. Secondly, makeup artists themselves are increasingly talking about the benefits of taking a temporary break from cosmetics. As well as the need to preserve individuality, to remember your true face, on which a thick layer of makeup is sometimes perceived as a mask.
And, by the way, about masks. The theme of makeup as a mask in every sense was brilliantly dreamed up by the same Pat McGrath, who spent half a day on the eve of the Givenchy show, together with her large team, gluing rhinestones and sequins onto the faces of models.
On her Instagram, Pat posted photos of her masterpieces, giving clear statistics: 40 pairs of hands, 12 hours of work.
It took no less time to prepare the models for the Vivienne Westwood fashion show. There were masks on their faces too, only painted on with paint. Makeup artist Val Garland, believe it or not, was inspired by Diaghilev's Russian ballet seasons. At the same time, in combination with Vivienne Westwood’s clothes, this strange makeup really played.
Garland herself, who has been considered a makeup guru for decades, honestly says that fashion show makeup is a figment of the imagination of the designer and makeup artist, which can take both far, far away. You probably won’t want to copy her work, and you don’t need to (unless it’s a good idea for the upcoming Halloween). And yet, the message of makeup artists is clear: remember about your face, don’t be afraid to go without makeup if you haven’t yet figured out which mask to choose for yourself.
Eyes
Shadows
To make the shadows look brighter, apply a base on them. It will not only make the shadows brighter, but also prevent them from falling off during the day.
Then we start working with shadows. Apply dark shadows to the corner of your eye and light shadows to the inner corner. Blend the border well so that the junction of the two shadows is not visible. Then you can draw an arrow on the upper eyelid using eyeliner or a black pencil.
Mascara
Then coat your upper and lower eyelashes well with mascara. It is best to choose black mascara, because black is a universal color. Apply mascara using gentle curling motions to make your eyelashes curl upward.
Smokey eyes in deep blue tones
Deep Smoky Eyes in a dark blue hue add expressiveness and a dewy shine to the look.
In addition, dark blue is an excellent alternative to black, so the image will be bright, but less provocative.
- Apply a metallic blue eyeshadow along the upper lash line and blend with a soft brush onto the eyelid. In this makeup, they will act as a colored eyeshadow primer.
- Use dark blue metallic eyeshadow to easily fill the outer corner of your eye. Blend along the crease of the upper eyelid and towards the temples with a fluffy brush.
- Use a dark blue pencil to fill in the lower mucous line and the contour of the lower eyelashes. Blend with a flat brush along the border with the stroke.
- Apply dark blue eyeshadow to the lower eyelid. Using a soft brush, extend the shadow from the outer corner onto the eyelid. For shading, you can additionally use blue shadows of a lighter shade.
- Using gel eyeliner, draw a line along the upper lash line and blend immediately before it dries. Repeat the same along the lower contour, including the mucous line. This will give the look depth.
- Blend the edges of the shadow pattern using a shade of dusty lilac and extend it towards the temples.
- Color your eyelashes brightly.
- Highlight your face shapes with a dark corrector, apply highlighter to the main highlight areas.
- Paint your lips with matte lipstick in a natural shade.
- Add a softening, delicate blush to the apples of your cheeks. Choose a shade that matches your lipstick shade.
