Anna Netrebko is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and vibrant opera singers in the world. She has attracted the close attention of fans, who recently have not tired of complimenting the star on her slimness. Fans don’t recognize Anna Netrebko, who has lost weight

Fans noted that Anna Netrebko has noticeably become slimmer, and new outfits from famous world brands, which she recently demonstrated on her microblog, suit her incredibly well. Subscribers en masse ask the singer how she managed to lose so much weight. Anna took the floor, and probably disappointed those who were planning to go on the same diet as the opera diva. Netrebko said that she did not even think about losing weight, and her weight has remained unchanged over the past eight years.

“I finally decided to dispel the myth about weight loss, just to eliminate misconceptions. My weight has been approximately the same for the past 8 years, and I am quite happy with it. I do not accept any diets and eat whatever I like in moderation. And I am absolutely against stupid standards. Every woman has her own body and should remain herself, regardless of age, height and size,” Anna Netrebko wrote on the microblog.

The star's followers once again admired her position and amazing ability to remain herself in any situation. “You can immediately see the Kuban character. In Kuban, we are taught personality, individuality, and not to look up to someone, only if we have brains,” “Anorexia is not relevant today! A beautiful body - yes!”, “How right you are! I agree one hundred percent! Every woman has her own beauty, and that’s wonderful!”, “You look wonderful in any outfit because you are loved,” “You need to love yourself, the people who surround you, and your life and be grateful! After all, beauty radiates from within, and standards are imposed by the influence of fashion, that’s all,” fans supported Anna Netrebko.

The opera singer has repeatedly admitted that she is incredibly happy, having connected her life with her beloved person, Yusif Eyvazov. Fans never tire of admiring the family harmony of the artist and her husband. The artists fondly remember their acquaintance, after which they quickly realized that they were literally made for each other. “When Anechka and I met, we managed to become family in a short time. Now we don’t understand how we lived without each other before,” Eyvazov admitted to StarHit. Yusif also got along well with Netrebko's son Thiago. However, the couple dreams of having another child in their family. However, the couple does not force things and believe that at the right time they will definitely have a baby.

Childhood

The future legend of the opera stage was born and raised in Krasnodar. The house where Netrebko spent his childhood is located on Oktyabrskaya Street, in the very heart of the city. This is a pre-revolutionary brick building, surrounded by a flowering garden.

On her paternal side, her family comes from Zaporozhye Cossacks, but the singer’s ancestry also has Gypsy roots. Anna's father, Yuri Nikolaevich Netrebko, worked as a geologist, and her mother, Larisa Ivanovna Netrebko (died in 2002), was a communications engineer.

Anna also has an older sister, Natalya, who is three years older. Now she bears the surname Eskildsen and lives in Denmark; in her youth she worked as a model.

The parents expected their second child to be a boy. Perhaps that is why little Anya had a completely ungirlish character. However, she and her sister did not cause much trouble for their parents. In their spare time, they explored the surrounding area and staged home theater performances. They were raised mainly by their mother and grandmother, since their father worked a lot and often went on business trips.

Anna Netrebko has always loved to sing. She inherited her love of music from her father, who sings and plays the piano very well. From the age of three she sang lullabies, as a child she organized mini-concerts for relatives, and during her school years she became a soloist of the Kuban Pioneer musical ensemble, with which she performed at the Krasnodar Palace of Pioneers. The children's choir was so large that if they went on tour, they had to get a large “charter” plane. And Anya was his soloist.

True, the girl did not think about a singing career: she was a well-rounded child, she was involved in acrobatics (she earned the title of Master of Masters), basketball, athletics, horse riding and drawing, and at different times she dreamed of becoming a surgeon, an artist, or even a stuntman. At the age of 11, her passion for writing awoke. My father kept his student notebooks, covered with ballpoint pen, all his life. Anna's uncle was a photographer, and for some time she and her friend went to his photo studio and learned how to develop negatives.

As a result, Anna was an average student, sometimes getting C grades in quarters, but she always excelled in history and literature. Some hobbies, for example, the hippodrome, had to be abandoned at the request of her parents, who were worried that the girl was “sprayed” into many hobbies.

In addition to other merits, Anna, a real beauty, conquered the jury of the Miss Kuban 1988 beauty contest and took second place. As a prize she was given a color television.

First steps to glory

She was inspired to dream of an opera stage by a trip to Leningrad, or more precisely, to the Mariinsky Theater. At the family council, it was decided that the girl would study in the Northern capital, and not in Moscow, since in Leningrad Yuri Nikolaevich had many university friends who, if anything happened, could help Anya.

After graduating from high school, Anna Netrebko went to Leningrad, where she successfully entered the music school, since in those years only those who graduated from the music school were accepted into the conservatory. But instead of the required five years, the talented student was transferred to the Conservatory. Rimsky-Korsakov after the second year.

First success

The debut work was not just successful: Anna’s performance of Suzanne became, in the opinion of opera lovers, the main event of the year. In a short time, Anna became such a popular creative talent that she could not attend classes at the conservatory. Due to the busyness of the professional scene, Anna did not have enough time to pass the exams and receive a diploma. But his absence worried only his mother; Netrebko herself had no time left to reflect on this matter: her schedule was now scheduled not by the day, but by the minute.

After The Marriage of Figaro, she was assigned to learn Lyudmila’s cavantina from the opera Ruslan and Lyudmila, with which the girl performed in front of the residents of San Francisco in 1995, after which she was invited to a three-month internship at the local opera house. A little earlier, she made her debut on the Riga stage as part of the opera “Queen of the Night”. In the USA, she studied a program developed specifically for opera singers: from morning to evening she choreographed French, Italian and German, and learned the intricacies of stage movement.

America became the singer’s home for several years, although it took her a long time to get used to a foreign language, cuisine and culture in general. In San Francisco, she made her debut in “Elixir of Love” (Adina). Placido Domingo, artistic director of the Washington Opera, invited Netrebko to play the role of Gilda in Rigoletto.

For several years, Anna, being involved in the operas “Boris Godunov”, “The Tsar’s Bride”, “Betrothal in a Monastery”, “The Barber of Seville”, “Somnambula”, “Rigoletto”, “Lucia di Lammermoor”, “La Boheme”, “ Don Juan" and many, many others, became one of the leading soloists of the theater. Together with the Mariinsky Theater troupe, she visited Finland, Germany, Israel, Latvia, and the USA.

Despite the great risk of earning star fever, Anna did not give in to temptation, but continued to painstakingly work on her vocals. As Valery Gergiev recalled, when Netrebko became a world star, one day, after a concert in New York, he went to see her backstage. She saw the old mentor and burst into tears: “I faked it at the very beginning!” Gergiev admitted that he didn’t even notice the falseness: “Since she now has such a standard, this is really quality.”

One of the most significant events in the singer’s career was the play “War and Peace,” staged on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera with the participation of Dmitry Hvorostovsky in 2002, as well as the production of “Don Juan,” presented by conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt at the festival in Salzburg, Austria (also 2002).

Career blossoming

After Don Giovanni, the opera diva’s life changed dramatically. In 2003, she shone on the stage of the Munich Opera in Verdi's La Traviata (the role of Violetta) and on the stage of London's Covent Garden in the role of Donna Anna. At the same time, the first studio album with parts performed by Anna (“Opera Arias”) was released. Anna sang accompanied by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. She changes management, and from now on hundreds, or even thousands of people line up for tickets to her concerts.

The following year, the opera diva appeared with a cameo in the Hollywood film “The Princess Diaries” with Anne Hathaway, presented the audience with her new album “Sempre Libera” (“Be free, be carefree” - this expression could well become the singer’s credo) and sang a duet with the Mexican star opera by Rolando Villazón in Romeo and Juliet. In partnership with him, she released the CD “Duets”.

In 2005, Anna received the State Prize from the hands of Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin Palace. Netrebko did not advertise this fact, but her father once told reporters that the singer transferred all the money from the State Prize (which is about 5 million rubles) to the Turner Children's Orthopedic Institute.

In 2006, Anna Netrebko began to seek Austrian citizenship. The singer planned to move to Salzburg. The Austrian government gladly granted her request. Netrebko also retained Russian citizenship. The jury of the Classic Brit Awards names her Vocalist of the Year.

In 2007, Time published its annual ranking of the world's 100 most influential people. That year, an opera singer, Anna Netrebko, entered it for the first time. “Stunning appearance and enchanting charm, amazing beauty and power of voice,” summarized the compilers of the rating.

Since 2008, Anna Netrebko has held the title of People's Artist of the Russian Federation. In addition, the singer’s personal collection of awards includes such awards as the Golden Spotlight, German Media Award, Golden Gramophone (for the song “Voice”), the Casta Diva Award, as well as the Classical BRIT Awards and many others.

Personal life of Anna Netrebko

In her youth, Anna was not interested in boys. Her first serious relationship came at the age of 22. Anna hides the name of her youthful love; it is only known that they studied at the conservatory together and that Anna’s chosen one was married. The singer, who fell madly in love, was forced to immerse herself in work in order to forget about the “forbidden fruit.”

While interning in San Francisco, Anna became interested in a baritone named Ted. But the relationship turned out to be short-lived: at first the man was very sensitive to his beloved’s successes, and then, when Netrebko returned to her homeland, he completely found a new passion. Anna had a hard time with the breakup. An affair with the grandson of the ballerina Inna Zubkovskaya, Nikolai, helped her cope with depression. He was 4 years younger than Anna. Their relationship lasted a couple of years, after which both decided to separate.

Later, one of the Mariinsky Theater employees told the press that Zubkovsky beat Anna out of jealousy: “Once he beat her so hard that her whole face and body were covered in bruises! After that she ran away from him!”

Then for about six years Anna dated Italian bass Simone Alberghini. For the sake of a passionate Russian woman, Simone left his former lover. However, Anna decided not to rush things. Feeling freer than ever, she did not want a serious, committing relationship, so the couple made do with rare dates a couple of times a month.

Around 2003, the Uruguayan baritone Schrott Erwin burst into her life like a hurricane. At that moment, she continued her affair with Alberghini, but in 2007, when their relationship finally faded away, the singer remembered Erwin. And now the newly-made couple began to live in a civil marriage.

In 2008, their common son Thiego was born. Unfortunately, the baby was diagnosed with autism. Anna Netrebko did not give up on her “special” son, but courageously endured all the hardships associated with raising a difficult child.

When the boy was 5 years old, Anna and Schrott separated. This is what Netrebko recalled about the reason for the divorce:

The sex was wonderful, there was love. But cultural differences played a very important role. We spoke different languages. We couldn’t explain to each other how we felt.

Yusif Eyvazov, a tenor from Azerbaijan, became Anna's new Prince. Their relationship was not hampered by either the age difference (the man is 6 years younger than Anna) or the presence of Anna’s “special” baby. Yusif fell in love with Thiago as if he were his own son. On December 29, 2020, Anna and Yusif got married in Vienna.

Thanks to the efforts of his parents, the boy learned to feel comfortable in society and even went to a regular school, where more than twenty children studied with him in the class. He travels a lot with his mother and grows up as a smart, inquisitive child.

Thiago has a good voice, but his parents do not intend to make him an artist. The boy himself wants to draw cartoons and computer games.

Anna Netrebko: “I am who I am”

“I’m having my best years now.”

Anna, today you are in Moscow, tomorrow in Vienna, the day after tomorrow in New York... The year is scheduled day by day. Were you able to get used to this kind of life?

To be honest, I don’t like airports or airplanes. When a person works in an office and flies on vacation 2-3 times a year, he enjoys it. But for Yusif and me, frequent moving is a routine, a discomfort.

On the other hand, if suddenly all this disappears from life, you might get bored (laughs). Our home is Vienna, where we spend most of our time, we feel good and cozy there. We also love New York, although it is difficult to be in its noise for a long time, we are starting to miss calm Europe. It was like we weren’t home for five months. We stopped in for one day to repack our bags and move on. But it’s not just us who live this way, all our fellow artists live this way.

Does your son Thiago travel with you?

Yes, my son really likes to travel by plane and train, it’s interesting to him. We leave him for a maximum of two weeks, and take him with us on long trips. Because of this, he misses school, so teachers and nannies work with him. Wherever we are, we try to go to museums, walk around the city, because the child wants to go to the park, he needs to move.

Thiago is already a fifth grader, does he go to a regular school?

He studied at a special school for autism in New York for three years, and is now going to a regular school in Vienna for the second year. He has made great progress, he managed to adapt and made friends with the guys. Tisha is a very sociable boy, a good student, and speaks three languages.

What gives you the strength to live in such a schedule?

Love for music. If she didn't exist, there would be no point in all of this. Now I have the best, most eventful years. And no matter how much I would like to rest sometimes, I understand that I have to work intensively, and after a few years I can slow down. Yusif and I have a serious repertoire that requires strength. I don't want to miss this moment.

On stage you live many destinies, many of your heroines die...

I have about 50 parts, I like to change roles. I refused some because they didn’t suit my soul, as they say. I had to leave some because of my age, for example, the part of Natasha Rostova, which was close to me.

At the age of 22, I performed the part of La Traviata, “dying” on stage for the first time - it was interesting. With experience came acting skills, deep immersion in the character. And when your heroine dies, you die with her - you give so much strength and emotion. After this, you want to quickly remove your makeup, go home and be in peace with your family and loved ones.

Today you are a world star, and you were able to reach these heights, being a simple Kuban Cossack...

When that same fame came, I began to fear that everything had happened too early, that people were putting me in the rank of a star, which I essentially am not. I can sing, I can do things that few people can do - I know this about myself. And this, of course, gives you self-confidence. On the other hand, if you sang well today, this does not mean that you will sing well tomorrow: suddenly the upper part does not sound or the muscles are hypotonic and do not listen to you... Therefore, every appearance on stage is a confirmation of your own professionalism. Singing is physically and emotionally difficult, which is why my profession is one of the most difficult of all.

“My voice needs space”

Celebrities often go on strict diets, how strict are you with yourself? Yusif, by the way, has become noticeably slimmer.

He tries to go to the gym wherever we perform. As a result, I lost 14 kilograms, which I absolutely do not like (laughs). I myself don’t like diets, I just lead a normal lifestyle. You'd be surprised how little I eat. That's why my weight hasn't changed; I've been wearing the same size clothes for 10 years. I’m not going to lose even more weight, I’m comfortable with my weight. I am a person free from prejudices about weight loss and slimness. I’m happy with everything about myself, I haven’t lost any 15 kg and I don’t intend to!

You often share food recipes with your blog subscribers – do you really find time to cook?

I really love to cook, but I really don’t always have time. For example, I marinate pork in chestnut honey and bake it - it all takes 4.5 hours. I like to mix salty and sweet foods, I love meat with sweet lingonberry sauce. My husband and I don’t have the same taste preferences - he eats some dishes, I eat others. He doesn’t understand how you can eat boiled meat (laughs). But I can cook good Kuban borscht for him, and I got the Azerbaijani pilaf with herbs on the second try.

We are very hospitable, we love to host friends, for whom I happily cook different dishes - with chicken or meat, bake fish, and know hundreds of salads. I don’t really like sweets, but if the dessert is beautiful and tasty, then I’ll eat it.

Is it true that any weight fluctuations affect your voice?

Losing a little weight is good for your health, but losing a lot of weight is bad for your voice, it’s true. We opera singers can’t even pump up our abs. Because the abdominal muscles are the first to contract when there is not enough breathing. But I need, on the contrary, to relax them so that there is deep breathing.

By the way, my voice was affected by childbirth. After the birth of my son, my chest seemed to expand, and my voice became rich, deep, and needed space.

Do you have a fear of losing your voice?

No, I’m not afraid of this, but, of course, I know that this can happen and will definitely happen someday. We must be prepared for anything. Profession is not the most important thing in my life. I have a lot of other hobbies and interests, and I think that’s what saves me. As long as my voice obeys me, I don’t remember any failures. There are unsuccessful productions, from which the public may not be left with a very pleasant impression, but I am confident in myself.

You also absolutely cannot get sick - your fans are waiting for you...

If I suddenly cancel the performance, it means I physically couldn’t get out of bed. This happens extremely rarely. If I move, even if I don’t have a speaking voice, I will still sing the play. One time I went on stage absolutely sick, with a fever. By the end of the first act, I slowly slid down the wall and was replaced at intermission. Yes, this happens. You think you can perform, but your body says no.

On stage you move, dance, sing even while lying down... Does all this require stamina and physical fitness?

I had a fairly athletic youth, there were categories in acrobatics, basketball, and athletics. Such physical preparation, of course, helps. But today I mostly sing to the audience - this is real opera singing. And then there was a different repertoire - easy game games. Now the parts are difficult, they require a dramatic mood, not acting skills, the main thing here is to sing while breathing. You can’t sing them lying down, I have to be a “trumpet,” as we say. You give your all, it’s a lot of physical activity. The next day after the performance, my whole body hurts, and I definitely have no time for sports.

Do you have any worries about age?

Whether I have wrinkles or not, I don’t care. I don’t go to cosmetologists or spas, I don’t do anything to my face. I’m sad for another reason - over time you lose friends, more remain in the past...

Do you have an unusual wardrobe, do you choose your own bright outfits?

I am a professional shopaholic, I know where to buy and when. I have crazy, outrageous party items. I like to invent something every day, to combine the incongruous. And the more it doesn’t go together, the more I like it. I love avant-garde style, London underground, tackiness. Such crazy things suit me, they reflect my character. Although people are shocked by this, of course (laughs).

“My family is the most important thing”

How do you manage to maintain your individuality, spontaneity and ability to joke?

I try to approach everything with an open mind. I enjoy life, I feel good. I have no complexes and there are no things that oppress me. I have absolutely no envy. I was able to find myself, became myself - the way I am. I was never ambitious, I didn’t have a dream of becoming a world star, having crowds of fans. This did not happen, and no. I wanted to achieve something in my profession, I wanted to perform on stage, because I just love music and I love performing in the theater.

What helps you overcome various difficulties in life?

I think it’s my character and what I got from my parents. My dad worked as a geologist all his life, he is very active. I look like him and my mother. They are both very positive people, they have a zest for life. This was passed on to me from them and helps in many situations.

What does Anna Netrebko dream about?

My husband dreams of taking some simple car and driving through remote places - no matter what country. The main thing is to look around and live a simple life.

What do I want? At my age and in my position, it is strange to talk about dreams; on the contrary, I reflect on what has already happened in my life. A lot has happened and continues to happen. As they say in English – keep on going. You have to continue to live, do what you do, while preserving what you have. Sometimes you want peace and quiet, but only sometimes (laughs). Until the age of 35, only music and the stage existed for me, I did not think about family. And today family, my beloved man and child are the most important thing in my life.
