Vaenga likes to hide her personal life behind seven seals. Almost a year and a half has passed since the birth of her son Vanya, and until now no one knew who the baby’s father was. “StarHit” found out that the boy’s father is a percussionist and drummer from the Vaenga band, 30-year-old Roman Sadyrbaev.

The country first paid attention to Roman in February 2012, when the musician had an accident while driving a white Mercedes that belonged to Vaenga. No one understood why he was driving her car. But the band’s musicians already knew: Roma and Lena were together. He often drove her car - he took his pregnant lover on all errands. Roman is caring, tenderly looks after her: he brings sweets to the dressing room, irons her stage dresses before performances...
The guy came to St. Petersburg from Krasnodar to enroll in the pop department of the State University of Culture and Arts. He made his own career. At first he worked as a percussionist in Surganova’s team for two years, and in 2008 he moved to Vaenga. Over time, he became Elena's favorite, her right hand.
“Roma knows how to charm the ladies,” Sadyrbaev’s friend Renat shares with StarHit. “At first he just wanted to stand out among the musicians, to make friends with the star, and then a spark really ran between them. We used to go with him to sit in a bar, but two years ago he literally disappeared, no matter how much I adjusted to his schedule, I could not get him out. He was always busy. And then I found out that he, it turns out, is in love.” The lovers did not advertise their relationship. On tour, they performed on the same stage and spent the night in different hotel rooms. “Romka is a romantic guy,” continues Renat. “He’ll secretly put a gift in Elena’s room, or he’ll book a table in a restaurant and invite her after the concert.”
Sadyrbaev used to rent an apartment not far from Vaenga. He often came to visit her, and when feelings flared up between them, he began to stay with the singer, and then practically moved. Having learned about the affair, the tactful musicians of the group continued to pretend that nothing was happening. And Sadyrbaev’s friend, musician Sergei Sokolov, thinks: “Romka is generally handsome and a cool musician. Even when he didn’t play with Lena, we participated in different projects. Now, however, we rarely see each other. I know that he and Lena had a son. The last time we crossed paths was in Chelyabinsk: both I and he had concerts there. And then we had an afterparty at the club and walked until the morning. True, without Lena.”

The mystery of the pseudonym Vaenga
The stage name itself - Vaenga - is associated with the famous Bulgarian fortuneteller, the great Vanga, which means it makes people think about the presence of some otherworldly force and energy. Meanwhile, the young singer Elena Khruleva got her pseudonym largely by accident. In the early 1990s, Lena tried to conquer Moscow for the first time. She signed a contract with a production company, which, instead of treating the girl’s talent with care, began to “break” her into the then fashionable Zemfira. Lena broke the contract and returned to St. Petersburg with nothing. The show business sharks promised that they would block all channels on TV and radio for her (this is what happened over the next seven years). The company received the rights to all the artist’s best songs, and even her name - Elena Khruleva - now did not belong to her. In desperation, she called her mother, and she wisely advised her to write new songs, even better, and take some sonorous pseudonym, well, at least Vaenga - the name of a northern river in the Arctic, where Lena spent her childhood. “I didn’t take someone else’s last name, this is a river, this is the Vaenga River, that’s all.” And you know, I just now thought that I have a song with the words “I wanted to become a river, and so that the sun would bathe there...”. The song is called "Dunes". I wanted to become a river, and I became one! — Vaenga admitted in an interview. - So my mother gave birth to me, count me, twice: as a person and as an actress. And I never argue with my mother at all. Mom always says everything right!
Why kiss on stage?
Lena’s relationship with admirers of her talent is a topic for a separate study. There are also mystical motives here. — My fans are very different. There are many people who have walked with me for several years, and they will react very painfully if I suddenly change the style and manner of communicating with them. I often ask them: “You’ve known me for five to ten years - tell me, have I changed?” There are people so devoted that they never cease to amaze me. Aunt Sima, for example: a few years ago she gathered my fans for a picnic, and we had a very heartfelt sit-down. And recently, Aunt Sima took upon herself all the worries about organizing my first creative evening, which took place at the Lycedei Theater, although she is not a concert manager. And what bouquets and gifts they give! At the evening at the Litsedei, an ash tree seedling was also brought onto the stage. I was happy to plant it in my summer cottage. Many friends say to me: “Why kiss and communicate on stage?” But I cannot turn a person away if he came up to me with a bouquet and opened his soul. Although there are all kinds of people, with different thoughts. In Düsseldorf, which I will never forget, I died within five days. There a woman brought me flowers from the grave, all in the ground. Such disgusting that it makes me sick to remember. The German doctors did not understand what was wrong with me, but I was simply suffocating. It was very scary. At some point I was scared - not for my life, but I thought I was going crazy. I never believed in these things, but here you will! My musicians helped me get back to normal: I open my eyes at five in the morning, and the guys are sitting by the bed, worried. I WAS VERY ILL. But how everything in life is mixed up - good and evil. Imagine, the audience in Berlin waited for me for five days; they didn’t know why I wasn’t performing, but they didn’t hand over their tickets. And after that, well-wishers here wrote in the “guest section” (section on Elena’s official website - author’s note): “Of course, our Savraska was running around!”
Country house Vaenga
The village of Kuzmolovo is where the estate of the chanson performer is located. There is no luxury here, everything is simple and sweet, everything is so familiar to those who have dachas. Vaenga’s country house is her family estate, which the singer is still building. In addition to the two-story cottage, she added a summer kitchen, a greenhouse, a swimming pool, and an aviary for chickens nearby. She seriously decided to plant vegetables and run a household. The windows of the cottage overlook a garden in which trees and flowers grow. They want to make the terrace of the estate as convenient and comfortable as possible.
On a note! She inherited this estate from her grandfather, which is why this place is so dear to Elena, and she is not going to part with it. Having carried out some renovation work, she is determined to visit here more often with her family, enjoying the fresh air, close to nature.
