Wash for dry skin. Careful but effective!

Proper facial skin care involves proper cleansing. One of the best ways to rid your face of dirt and makeup residue is to wash your face with special soap. In addition, this procedure will prepare the skin for the application of care products. After preliminary cleansing, the active ingredients of cosmetics will better penetrate the skin, having a beneficial effect on the epidermis.

What distinguishes facial soap from body cleansing composition is its “soft” composition. In some cases, manufacturers even enrich their products with nutritional components. Thus, in modern conditions it becomes possible to combine the procedure of cleansing and skin care.

Today, there are the following types of soap compositions for cleansing the face, depending on the consistency:

  • Helium.
  • Cream.
  • Solid.
  • Oily.

When choosing soap for cleansing your face, you should consider your skin type. So, they distinguish:

  • Soap for dry skin.
Basically, these are compositions with a creamy consistency. Such a product will contain mild moisturizing ingredients, such as petroleum jelly or glycerin.
  • Soap for oily skin.
These formulas are designed to help the epidermis regulate sebum production. Manufacturers often enrich these types of formulations with tea tree oil, calendula extract and other useful natural ingredients.
  • Soap for all skin types.
These, as a rule, are distinguished by a balanced composition and a gentle effect on the skin.

Beauty in Details

Some people say that you can’t wash your face with soap. But at the same time, the cosmetics industry continues to produce soap specially created for facial cleansing.

I don’t know who to believe, but soap always lives in my bathroom. This is solid soap for the face. I wash my face with it in the evenings. In the morning - foam.

As strange as it may seem, I wash my body and hands with shower gel and liquid soap, respectively. I don’t like these soap “bars”.

One of the arguments against using soap as a face wash is that it dries out the skin. Today I will tell you about one product that not only does not dry out the skin, but also moisturizes it.

This is AVANE Super Nourishing Cold Cream Soap.

I left a miniature of this soap in my November ElleBox box. True from last year.

The volume of the piece is 25 grams. It lasted me about 8 months. Now we are left with these “remnants” that are no longer convenient to hold in our hands. Therefore, urgently and from fresh memory, I am telling you about it. As always, I store my soap in a convenient Clinique bar soap dish. (I myself know that soap is soapy, but today I can’t think of any other way)

Package:

A classic bar of soap, wrapped in a layer of paper and packed in a cardboard box.

Aroma:

Unobtrusive, creamy-soapy aroma.

Texture:

When soaping in your hands, a thin foam forms. Quite pleasant and gentle. You can feel the presence of cream.

Information from the manufacturer:

  • Cleanses: Enriched with Cold Cream and lipids, the soap cleanses sensitive skin and provides comfort with a light scent.
  • Protects: Restores comfort and elasticity to your skin
  • Soothing : Aven Thermal Water, with its soothing and softening properties, provides your skin with an immediate feeling of comfort.

Compound:

My opinion:

Soap does an excellent job with its main task - cleansing the skin.

The soap is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. During use, neither allergies (although this is not typical for me) nor comedones arose.

Soap does not dry the skin, does not tighten or irritate it.

I once conducted an experiment and after washing my face with AVENE soap , I did not apply moisturizer to my face. I didn’t even wipe it with toner. And oddly enough, my face remained moisturized. And there was no desire to go and apply cream to my face.

Since I had a small piece, I didn’t wash my body with it. But I think since it doesn’t dry out the face, it shouldn’t dry out the body either.

And it is beautiful for everyone, and it is wonderful for everyone. But you know, I can’t live without my beloved BUT. ))))

But when using it, I constantly had déjà vu. And it is connected with DOVE soap, which is much more affordable in price . Here is the same smell, the same foam when lathering and the same effect on the face. I wrote a review about him a long time ago. (Please don’t judge him harshly, this is an old review. Then I wrote according to the principle: “Brevity is the sister of talent.” Maybe I’ll return to the same format???)

And as a conclusion: What does the advertisement say? “And if there is no difference, why pay more?!”

Volume (full version) 100 g. Price ~ 300 rubles.

Moisturizing soap? where is the truth?

Friends, hello!

Many of you ask very interesting questions, and I decided to take some of them out of the comments into separate posts. Few people read the comments, and they often appear in unexpected places, and some of them may be interesting to others.

Today is a question from Julia, which she left for the post “Goat's milk” milk soap from scratch, in which I said that soap cannot moisturize.

Julia

Natalya, good afternoon! Please tell me, you claim that soap cannot moisturize. When making soap, superfat is taken into account; as I understand it, this is oil that will not react with alkali and will remain in its original form. For example, grape seed oil has moisturizing properties; if such oil remains in superfat, why cannot soap be called moisturizing? Thank you.

Excellent question, thanks to Yulia.

Indeed, how can we not think about moisturizing soap if on the labels we often see “moisturizing soap”, “anti-cellulite soap” and other calls.

Do not attribute mythical properties to soap. It has a high PH, stays on the skin for 10-20 seconds, and its main property is to wash!

I repeat!

The main property of soap is to wash. This surfactant, by the way, is quite aggressive, which washes away not only dirt, but also the protective lipid layer of the skin. The oils that go into superfat can partially close the holes that soap has made in the lipid layer, and also soften the skin so that it looks as if it is moisturized. Softening is an immediate effect. Humidification - no. This may be news to you, but the oils themselves also do not have moisturizing properties. For example, I can recommend pouring oil over raisins. It will remain as wrinkled as it was.

Humidity is the property of moisture. There is no moisture in the oil. Oils can lock moisture into the skin (form a film that prevents moisture from evaporating from the inside, but it also prevents moisture from penetrating from the outside, so waterless products are not recommended to be applied to dry (not moistened with water) skin, otherwise it may become even drier), as well as -due to their composition, oils (as biologically active substances) can synthesize collagen synthesis, renew cell membranes and otherwise affect the skin, which ultimately can promote hydration, but this process is slow and only acts in combination with a bunch of other factors, just oils You won't moisturize your skin. So, to the soap
