Be sure to wash your hands before putting on or removing lenses.
When wearing contacts, never rub your eyes with your hands.

Semi-scleral (corneoscleral) - in volume they are something between types 1-2, the diameter varies between 13-15 mm, occupies both the cornea and the scleral area.

In addition, there are solid lenses that do not have a pupil. The creators produce them in white and gray colors, reminiscent of the effect of a cataract. This attribute can be purchased by ordering online. But it is advised to be mentally prepared for their use. By covering the pupil with this tint, the wearer is practically left in the dark. What are they made from?

They produce decorative black silicone hydrogel contact lenses in which silicone allows oxygen to pass through well, which allows the cornea to breathe freely under the lens.

The higher the oxygen permeability coefficient of the lenses, the safer they are to use.

Silicone hydrogel is resistant to low temperatures, so they can be used even in cold weather. However, in conditions of high temperature and humidity (for example, in a sauna), it is better not to wear black scleral lenses : actively secreted tear fluid provokes rapid swelling of the eye tissues.

Cheap Chinese analogues are made from a polymer composition with a minimal amount of silicone. It is not safe to wear such lenses: their level of gas permeability is very low. Long-term wearing of Chinese black lenses can lead to problems such as:

development of corneal hypoxia;
corneal edema;
ingrowth of blood vessels into the sclera.

production of a set of lenses that will be adjusted (prototype);
testing of the prototype by the owner. The patient wears trial clear lenses for several weeks, and the manufacturer's optometrist observes the results and makes the necessary adjustments to shape, size, thickness, etc.

Lenses that are not made to order, that is, using the conveyor method, are not only less comfortable to wear, but also dangerous. They do not adjust to the size of the cornea. Their inner surface may not fit tightly to the cornea or, conversely, prevent it from breathing. Being, in fact, a foreign body for the protein shell, factory black lenses can cause the following troubles:

oxygen starvation of tissues (cause if it fits too tightly to the sclera). This leads to the destruction of blood vessels, and, as a result, to decreased vision;
slip off the surface of the eye, scratching it (if the fit is insufficient).
