It’s not for nothing that face masks made with natural yogurt are considered an excellent product that can moisturize and nourish the skin. Yogurt face masks are easy to use and suitable for any skin type. Yogurt is good for the face, and you can make this mask all year round.

Cosmetics with yogurt have a positive effect on the general condition of the dermis. Many cosmetic companies add this fermented milk product to a whole line of skin and hair care products (moisturizer, face gel, hair balm).

But the greatest benefits to the skin will come from masks made from natural yogurt (necessarily fresh), prepared at home.

A yogurt face mask will help get rid of a number of defects, it:

  • perfectly moisturizes dry skin and eliminates flaking;
  • relieves redness;
  • gets rid of oily shine;
  • will increase skin turgor.

A face mask made from natural yogurt will give your skin a fresh, toned look. Ideal for women suffering from skin pigmentation, as it has a mild whitening effect. A yogurt mask helps combat seasonal freckles. Does not cause allergic reactions.

What is the use of such masks?

Yogurt is good for facial skin due to its huge amino acid content. It is these components that benefit the skin, they nourish and soften the skin well, give it youth, and slow down the aging process.

It also contains a lot of water, therefore, products based on it provide a good moisturizing effect.

The many vitamins contained in it (vitamins A, B, C, choline) restore the water-fat balance of the skin, strengthen blood vessels, increase its elasticity, cleanse and relieve inflammatory processes.

The presence of minerals (calcium, potassium) in fermented milk product helps nourish and tone the skin.

With regular use of masks based on natural fermented milk products, you can significantly improve your appearance and bring great benefits to the skin on your face. The main thing is to choose the right fat percentage:

  • Full-fat yogurt should be added to masks for dry skin that needs nutrition and hydration. It is also suitable for aging, sagging skin;
  • a low-fat product is an ideal solution for masks used for oily or combination skin.

Composition and benefits of yogurt for skin

Like any other fermented milk product, yogurt can be used for cosmetic purposes as a monocomponent, that is, applied in its pure form. However, to enhance the effect or obtain additional action, you can complicate the composition with other components.

However, it is better to prepare the fermented milk product itself independently using a yogurt maker or without it from whole milk and sourdough. The finished product can have any fat content, and so can the mixture—both drinking and thick Greek yogurt are suitable as the main component of a cosmetic product.

Purchased natural yogurt will nourish and heal the skin, because... it contains:

  1. Lactic acid. This is a gentle exfoliant used in beauty products (primarily for peels). The acid will remove rough particles, moisturize and brighten the skin, and help smooth out small wrinkles.
  2. Bifidobacteria that stimulate collagen production.
  3. Vitamins A, C, PP, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12. Those. actually all the vitamins we use?? in professional cosmetics and are needed to maintain healthy skin. They take part in providing cells with oxygen, restoration actions, help improve complexion, eliminate dullness, smooth out wrinkles and slow down the aging process.
  4. Magnesium is a macronutrient that regulates?? the functioning of the nervous system and increases the productivity of vitamin B6.
  5. Zinc, which has a wound-healing effect.
  6. Potassium, a deficiency of which in the body is indicated by acne and excessive dry skin.
  7. Calcium. The element is considered the basis of the formula for health and beauty. It is primarily needed by the bone structures of the body, but in the thickness of the skin this element is responsible for the proper secretion of the sebaceous glands and ensures the elasticity and firmness of the dermis.

It is better to use only natural yogurt for the mask.

Masks with yogurt - beneficial properties and recipes for use

Yogurt has been used for skin since ancient times.

For example, in India, this product is still valued as an excellent way to combat acne.

  • Lactic acid

Lactic acid is one of the key ingredients in yogurt and is widely used in many face and body care products.

Lactic acid helps smooth rough skin, exfoliates old skin, and hydrates dry skin.

In addition, lactic acid restores its elasticity, reducing existing wrinkles.

  • Zinc

It is able to reduce skin irritation caused by acne or rashes, has a mild astringent effect, regulating the increased formation of oil in the sebaceous glands, thereby preventing the formation of pimples and blackheads.

  • Calcium

It perfectly helps in regenerating and renewing the skin, and also exhibits antioxidant properties.

  • B vitamins

Yogurt is rich in vitamin B2 (riboflavin), vitamin B12 and vitamin B5.

One serving of yogurt contains 30.5% riboflavin, which has a very beneficial effect on the skin, making it more radiant and hydrated.

Riboflavin is essential for skin cell growth and regeneration, and also protects skin cells from oxidative damage from free radicals.

Vitamin B5 is responsible for promoting the production of healthy fats in cells.

Is it possible to replace yogurt with kefir?

Kefir and yogurt differ from each other only in the composition of microorganisms.

In yogurt this is Bulgarian bacillus and thermophilic streptococcus, and in kefir acetic acid bacteria and yeast may also be present.

But kefir has a more acidic environment, so it should not be applied to sensitive and very dry skin.

Yogurt is softer and its effect on the skin will be less aggressive.

Use natural yogurt for your skin and always be beautiful!

Alena Yasneva was with you, bye everyone!

Since ancient times, almost all dairy products have been actively used to care for the skin of the face and body, as well as to strengthen hair. Milk and milk-based products contain nutritious fats that are good for skin and hair, and also contain many beneficial vitamins and minerals. This is why a yogurt face mask is great for facial skin care.

What is the secret of a “living” face mask with natural yogurt?

To prepare the mask, it is best to use a homemade product without any additives, since “live” yogurt contains only milk and yeast. These masks are universal and suitable for all skin types. Yogurt has a moderate natural acid and perfectly moisturizes the skin, soothes and saturates it with useful substances. It can simply be applied to the face for 15 - 20 minutes 3 - 4 times a week. Live yogurt cultures ideally care for the skin in the décolleté and neck area.

Adding berries and fruits to the mask helps saturate cells with vitamins and microelements. It is better to use fruits and berries in season - they are the richest and most saturated with vitamins (it is better not to use frozen berries). In winter, you can add apples, bananas, and orange zest.

Adding various oils to a mask with yogurt softens the acidic environment, improves the penetration of nutrients into cells and moisturizes the skin.

Yogurt as a universal remedy

Yogurt has a mattifying effect on oily skin, removing excess fat, tightening pores and smoothing out the texture. It actively nourishes dry skin, tones and moisturizes dull and dehydrated skin, and makes skin covered with spots, freckles and acne marks lighter and softer, while acting non-aggressively and without damaging sensitive skin like chemical bleaching agents.

Anyone can use yogurt masks, using it in its pure form or mixing it with various fillers. Naturally, only natural yogurt will benefit the skin, which it is advisable to make yourself. To do this, a special starter is added to warm peasant milk, which can be purchased at any pharmacy. As a result, in a few hours you will receive excellent, pure and completely natural yogurt without preservatives, dyes or other additives. 90% of the resulting product can be eaten, healing the body from the inside, and the remaining 10% can be used for external beauty.

For oily skin

Natural fermented milk products contain special lactobacilli, which have a positive effect on pathogenic microflora that provokes the development of acne. That is why a yogurt face mask has an excellent refreshing and anti-inflammatory effect. You can add other substances to yogurt that will help further affect the oiliness and porosity of the skin, for example, tomato pulp, grated carrots or their juice, potato starch or finely grated potatoes.

Masks with yogurt for fat and inflammation should be used in courses of at least 10 pieces, 2-3 times a week. They should be applied for 20–30 minutes and skin hygiene should be carefully observed after use. Yogurt can be an excellent breeding ground for pathogenic bacteria if it is not completely washed off.

Mechanism of action

Depending on the cosmetic purpose, all masks are divided according to the type of action into intense and delicate.

As a monocomponent, yogurt can be used every day; in this case, the rich composition of the fermented milk product will have a piquant effect as a moisturizing and nourishing mask.

You can simply wipe it daily with a cotton pad soaked in yogurt, or apply it thickly with a mask on your face for 15–20 minutes to enhance the effect. Such fortified “food” for the skin in almost a few days:

  • cleanses pores of dirt and narrows them;
  • moisturizes and tones;
  • has an anti-inflammatory effect;
  • removes shine;
  • regulates the functioning of the sebaceous glands;
  • smoothes and refreshes color;
  • improves collagen production;
  • stops aging.

Multicomponent compositions of anti-aging, cleansing, oil-regulating and lifting masks should not be used more than once a week. Additional components with frequent use of masks can have a reverse effect: become a prerequisite for allergic reactions, disruption of internal actions in the epidermis, clogging of pores and the formation of comedones.

If you follow all the tips, a yogurt mask will help with any type and condition of your skin. Procedures shown:

  • for dry (even cracked) skin that needs intense hydration;
  • regular and combined - for effective care;
  • oily, which requires adjustment of the fat balance;
  • lethargic, for which there has been no proper care for a long time;
  • fading to curb the effects of aging.

For dry, dehydrated or aging skin

Fermented milk masks at home have a great effect on dry, sensitive, aging and dehydrated skin. For these purposes, honey is added to it (if there is no allergy to bee products), various oils, fruits and vegetables, crushed into puree.

Note!
Especially useful for this type of skin are masks made from yogurt with strawberries, raspberries, apricots, peaches, watermelon and grapes. All these fruits and berries contain natural fruit acids, which, in combination with lactic acid in yogurt, act as a very gentle peeling. They also contain fruit sugars, which actively soften the skin and make it soft and velvety.

Contraindications

You should not apply a fermented milk product if there are open wounds, inflammations, or herpes on your face. Lactic acid can increase irritation in inflamed areas of the face or body. In addition, you should keep in mind that after treating your face with beauty products that contain lactic acid, you should not sunbathe either in a solarium or under the sun.

Traditional homemade yogurt is not related to products that cause allergies. It can be safely consumed by children, the elderly and even people with lactose intolerance. Dyes and preservatives that are used in industrial production are always a prerequisite for unnecessary reactions.

Therefore, it is contraindicated to use fermented milk products of unnatural origin, with sugar and fruit fillers, as a cosmetic product. If you don’t have the skill to make a product yourself, then when choosing in a store you should carefully study the label. Natural live yogurt has a short shelf life (less than 7 days) and contains only whole milk and sourdough.

Cleansing mask

Since this substance contains natural acids, a yogurt mask can be successfully used to cleanse skin with comedones and enlarged pores that are prone to rapid clogging. The most effective type of such a mask is a mixture of yogurt with ground oatmeal. This mass is applied to the face in a thick layer and left until it dries, but without allowing it to turn into a solid mass - it can greatly tighten the skin. If the mask dries very quickly, you can spray it with thermal or mineral water or moisten it with a new portion of yogurt from time to time.

By regularly applying such masks, you can achieve clean, fresh and matte skin with tightened and cleansed pores. The same mask can also be made with rye flour, in which case, in addition to cleansing, it will also be very effective against increased fat content. In the case of combination skin, such a mask can be applied locally to oily and porous areas of the face.

A mask made from a mixture of fresh yeast and yogurt is also very good as a cleanser. It smells unpleasant, but pleasantly impresses with its results.

You can use either just pure yogurt, spreading it on your face in a fairly thick layer, or soak special paper masks or ordinary gauze wipes with it. Apply this mask for at least 20 minutes, then wash off with cool water. You can add rinsing with cold water with the addition of lemon juice or rubbing with an ice cube with lemon; this will additionally whiten the skin, tighten pores and serve as a good tonic, especially for aging and oily skin.

Note!
Don't expect a miracle from one or two masks. To get a pronounced whitening effect, you need to make masks regularly over a long time, and even better, combine them with other lightening agents.

Moisturizing express mask with yogurt

Both dry and oily skin require high-quality hydration. To prepare a moisturizing universal express mask you will need:

  • homemade yogurt - 2 tablespoons;
  • half an apple;
  • olive oil - 1 teaspoon.

If your skin is dry, then you should use sweet apples to prepare the mask, and sour apples for oily and combination skin.

You can buy yogurt in the store, but you should choose one with a shelf life of no more than two weeks and without flavoring additives.

Yogurt face masks: benefits of a mask made from natural homemade yogurt

Inflamed and oily skin, as well as dry and aging skin, requires special care. A yogurt mask can improve your skin condition. Yogurt is not only a food product, but also a means to restore fluid balance in skin cells. It heals, softens and cleanses the skin.

What information will you find out:

Tips for use

The versatility of masks lies in the fact that you can use yogurt of any fat content to make cosmetics. But cosmetologists advise adhering to the basic rule: use a product with the highest percentage of fat content to care for dry and aging skin, and a low-fat product for combination and oily skin.

Yogurt can be used as a self-sufficient cosmetic component, or you can enrich the composition of the mask with fruit pulp, berry juice, a decoction of pharmaceutical herbs, and essential oil. The product mixes well with almost all beauty elements. However, you should not make cosmetics based on pasteurized yogurt, which has no health benefits, or from an expired product.

The prepared mixtures should be applied to cleansed skin. In advance, it is also recommended to steam your face using a hot cloth or steam bath.

The duration of action is not limited, but for a mask made from a pure product, 20 minutes is enough. If the composition contains additional components, then the exposure time can be increased to 30–40 minutes.

Unsullied fermented milk product can be used frequently as a cleanser: apply for 15–20 minutes and rinse with cold water. And cosmetologists advise alternating masks by day of the week (like store-bought ones):

  • on Monday - feeders;
  • on Tuesday - rejuvenating;
  • on Wednesday - moisturizing;
  • on Thursday - with a lifting effect;
  • on Friday - cleansing;
  • on weekends, give your skin a break from cosmetics (including decorative ones).

This care regimen will eliminate the possibility of addiction and allow you to achieve the best effect from the use of beauty products. You should be especially picky about the schedule when caring for your face after thirty years, because... at this age, care should be comprehensive. It is enough for girls to use cleansing and nourishing compositions.

If fluctuations occur due to the hypoallergenic nature of the prepared composition, then a small amount of consistency should be applied to areas with narrow skin - behind the ear, on the wrist or elbow. The absence of an unnecessary reaction after 10–15 minutes indicates the possibility of using the composition.

If you have dry skin, choose high-fat yogurt for making masks

It is important to note that yogurt face masks are easy to prepare and do not require extra time or money.

Here are a few features of their preparation process that will be useful to anyone who decides to use them for their skin.

  1. Yogurts with artificial colors are not suitable for making masks. Choose yoghurts that are made naturally with natural ingredients, without any chemical additives.
  2. The main skin defects for which a yogurt mask is needed: dryness, peeling, acne, microdamage, wrinkles, lack of vitamins, crow's feet near the corners of the eyes.
  3. Restrictions on use: individual intolerance. Before applying the mask to your face, you need to apply the mixture to your wrist, then observe the reaction for several hours. If an allergic rash does not appear, you can safely use a face mask.
  4. If you have dry skin, choose yogurt with a high percentage of fat content for making masks and vice versa.
  5. The mask should only be applied to clean skin that has been previously cleansed by steaming and scrubbing.
  6. The duration of the procedure will depend only on the additional components, since in its pure form yogurt can not be washed off for up to 45-50 minutes.
  7. A properly prepared mask can be easily removed from the skin.
  8. At the end of the procedure, you need to lubricate your face with cream.
  9. The regularity of use is not limited: the mask is completely harmless.
  10. After some time, you need to stop using the mask and take a break. Since long-term use of the mask will cause the skin to become unresponsive to its components.
  11. The more often the mask is used, the better the result will be. The best effect can be obtained if you strictly adhere to the recipe.
