A perfectly even tone is a beauty trend that has not lost ground for many seasons now. Beautiful skin with a slight natural glow has long replaced contouring, like Kim Kardashian. This spring, rely on a slight blush and glow - you won't go wrong. We'll tell you how to create such makeup right now.

What cosmetics will help even out your complexion?

When choosing products to create an even tone, focus on the look you want to create, but also consider your skin type.

  • Makeup base

Using a primer or base is the key to obtaining a natural, even tone. For oily skin, special mattifying bases have been developed that can control treacherous shine; for dry skin, moisturizing ones have been developed. The base fills pores and wrinkles, smoothing the skin texture and thereby ensuring an even distribution of the foundation. It also prolongs the durability of makeup.

  • Concealer

Applying foundation is an important step in makeup. An even tone is a must for any makeup. This is the ideal “canvas” for scarlet lips, smoky eyes and unusual art wings. When choosing a foundation, do not be lazy to test it on the skin: evaluate the texture, comfort of application, durability and, most importantly, the shade: it should not be darker or lighter than the natural complexion. How to choose a foundation - read here.

  • Powder

The powder can be used at the very end of makeup: it perfectly fixes the result and ensures its durability. However, it can also be applied as a stand-alone product: in this case, choose an option that provides dense coverage. If you have problem skin, the product should contain antibacterial ingredients. For dry skin, a powder with a weightless finish is suitable.

  • Concealers and correctors

These products are necessary for correcting local imperfections: for example, a green corrector successfully neutralizes redness, and a reddish pink corrector successfully neutralizes dark circles under the eyes. Foundation is not suitable for these purposes. To disguise dark circles, a special product is required - it will perform not only camouflaging functions, but also moisturizing ones.

We showed how to apply concealer correctly in our video tutorial.

Types of creams

There are several types of cosmetic skin care products available in the form of creams. They differ in their scope of application, so the same composition cannot be used in different situations, which many women often do. Care products are usually divided into the following categories:

Daytime

Daytime formulations are an emulsion of oil, water, aromatics and stearic acid. After application, the day cream quickly evaporates, leaving a matte film on the skin. This product is often used as a base for makeup. 3-5% pigment can be added to daytime cosmetics to give the skin a light tint. Creams with coloring additives are called tinting creams. Night creams are applied at home, preferably before bed, so they contain a large amount of oils and fats. Beeswax and other biologically active substances are often added to night creams.

You should not go outside after applying the night cream, as dust and dirt will accumulate on the greasy base.

Moisturizing

Moisturizing makeup can contain up to 90% water and a small amount of fat components. They contain no more than 3-5%. Humidifiers are mainly used for daytime care, but they can also be used in the evening. It is not recommended to use humidifiers in extreme heat and cold. The most effective are considered to be moisturizing formulations with liposomes, which deliver moisturizing components directly to the cells of the epidermis.

For the eye area

Products designed to care for the area around the eyes are expensive cosmetics. Since the skin in some areas of the face is very thin, the absorption of the cosmetic product occurs much faster, so such creams contain only natural ingredients of the highest quality. The composition does not contain irritating or overly active components so as not to cause damage to very sensitive areas. To care for problem areas of the face, cosmetic preparations in the form of gels can be used.

What a foundation mousse is is described in this material.

For hands

Hand creams contain a large amount of silicones, which creates a protective film from moisture and dirt. The basic composition of hand cosmetics is no different from a moisturizing night cream. Protective products are designed to protect the skin from any negative influences. These may be bad weather conditions, as well as some production factors that people encounter while performing their professional duties. Such mixtures contain a large amount of fatty components and silicones. They may contain zinc oxide. Zinc compounds have a beneficial effect on the epidermis and protect it from the negative effects of extreme cold, wind and solar radiation. For oily skin, protective creams with a reduced amount of fat are produced.

You will find a review of the best foundations for dry skin at the link provided.

A large amount of zinc oxide can protect the face from exposure to ultraviolet radiation and reduce the possibility of freckles.

Narrowly targeted

In addition to these main categories, there are special creams. These include massage, children's and tonal. Massage rooms should ensure good gliding of the massage therapist's hands. Often a component of such products is purified petroleum jelly.

Baby creams are made using only natural ingredients and do not contain any substances that can cause allergic reactions.

Foundation cosmetics are used to correct facial defects. They contain a large amount of coloring pigment and allow you not only to give the skin the desired tone, but also to hide many physical defects.

How to apply foundation correctly, how to highlight all the advantages of your face with blush, how to hide minor skin imperfections with concealer, and how to get rid of unwanted shine with powder? Almost all girls use cosmetics every day, but we don’t always know how to use our favorite beauty products 100%.

Bright Side has selected for you the best tips for creating perfectly smooth and beautiful skin. We hope you find them useful!

Method 2. Three-color harmony

Let's take and draw an equilateral triangle.

The three colors lying at the vertices of the triangle and their shades will be harmoniously combined with each other.

There are other ways to create the perfect palettes, but first, remember these two most popular ones. Is it possible to find a similar color wheel in GIMP? Certainly. To do this, click once on “Foreground or background color " and in the dialog box that opens, click on this tab.

Found it? This is the Oswald circle, of course it is slightly different from the Itten circle, but it can also be used when selecting colors.

Since in this lesson we will be tinting a monochrome image, let’s select several tinting options using the color wheel. I twist and turn... and I get the following colors for myself.

f4у500 – 6d398b

f4у500 — 2a71b0

f4у500 – e32322

And friends, one little piece of advice or rule:

It is advisable to tint the light areas of the photo in warm shades, and the dark areas (shadows) in cold ones.

Although no one forbids breaking this rule.

And so, we have selected the colors for tinting, and let's start working on the image.

Step 1. Open the GIMP program if you do not already have it running.

Step 2. Using the “File - Open” , upload the photo you like. And in the same step we make a copy of the layer in order to continue working without affecting the original image.

Step 3. Using the “Color - Lightening” , desaturate the top layer.

Step 4. Make a copy of the black and white layer through the “Layer - Create a copy of layer” or by clicking the corresponding icon in the “Layers” panel. Next, right-click once on the top black and white layer to bring up the context menu, where we select “Add layer mask”

Step 5. Select the setting in the dialog box - “Copy of layer in grayscale”

Step 6. Create a duplicate of the top layer. Then, with the mouse cursor, click on the mask at the top layer to enable working with the mask (the white frame around the layer mask is activated). After that, go to the menu “Color - Invert” .

As a result of this, we will get the following picture in the layers panel.

Step 7. Now the fun begins. Go back to the first layer with the mask and rename the layer “Lights”. Then we go to the palette and select the color that we selected earlier. In this example, I will paint the light areas with color -f4у500

Then we go to the top layer with the mask and rename it “Shadows” . Then go back to the palette and select a color for the dark areas.

Did you manage to do the above? If yes, then we move on.

Step 8. Now friends, we need to set the correct layer blending modes. To do this, we go to the top “Shadow” layer and select “Multiply” from the drop-down menu.

In addition, we can adjust the intensity of the shading of the dark areas using the layer opacity. I put it at 50%.

Step 9. Did it work? Looks good already? In order to adjust the “Light” layer, we must also adjust the opacity (I also set it to 50%) and select the blending mode - Multiply.

Now, friends, we can quickly change the tint shades in the photo by repainting the “Highlights” and “Shadows” layers in the previously selected colors using the Itten circle.

Let's summarize. During today's lesson, we learned how to correctly select a color using Itten's color wheel, and also learned how to divide an image in GIMP into light and dark areas for their subsequent toning.

How to choose the right color.

• The primer should be the same color as the leather. And there should be no contrast in comparison with the neck. Only when the primer is not lighter, darker, pinker or grayer than the skin does it spread naturally and there are no borders. Along with the choice of primer color, the lighting where you plan to travel also plays a role. In warm light - such as flickering candles and yellow lamplight - the tone of the primer may be cooler, that is, a pink tint with some gray. Cold neon or daylight, on the contrary, requires warm yellow-golden nuances. But this does not mean that the primer should be yellow-brown or reddish-brown. Brown tones are as good as they are unnatural - it’s a different matter if you are really tanned and your skin color matches this tone.

Do cosmetics harm the skin?

• The old prejudice that cosmetics clog pores and prevent the skin from breathing has long been unfounded, because even the smallest particles of powder and pigments are too large to penetrate the skin. In addition, cosmetic production now uses substances that do not swell, as was the case in the past.

• For irritated, painful skin, do not stop using primer. On the contrary: a good primer hides irritation, and the woman feels more well-groomed and attractive. It is only important that the cream is not too greasy and contains antibacterial substances. Primers from the anti-acne series are almost or completely fat-free and contain high doses of disinfectants and anti-inflammatory substances. However, if there are several small pimples, you should not immediately resort to a special product: it still dries out the skin greatly. Individual pimples can be covered over regular primer with a touch-up pencil. Such pencils contain antiseptics that stop the inflammatory process. Tiny irregularities can be successfully smoothed out with a sharp brush: use it to take paint from the tip of a retouching pencil and apply it exactly to the place that needs to be covered. The brush should always be disinfected with alcohol.

• There are special covering creams to cover under-eye circles and skin abnormalities. They contain especially a lot of pigment. Such a cream should be lighter than the primer. Professionals do the opposite, but amateurs are better off applying the tint first and then the covering cream: it is less noticeable over the tint and dries out the skin under the eyes less. The covering cream is applied sparingly to the skin with a flat brush or soft applicator. And then gently rub the primer with your fingertips until all the transitions disappear. Finally, all this is carefully dusted with loose powder.

• It is best and easiest if the tint exactly matches the color of the skin under the chin. Then you don’t have to paint your neck without fear that a visible border will form along the contour of your face. You need to rub the primer thoroughly with your fingertips or a sponge towards the neck. The same must be done with the transition to the ears and to the base of the hair. The neck should be lightly powdered. This makeup technique has the advantage that the collar of the blouse or the edges of the neckline do not come into contact with the coloring preparations.

How to choose a good tinting cream for problem skin

Choosing the right tinting cream depends on a number of factors. These include the following:

  • the presence of useful nutritional components in the composition;
  • ability to even out tone;
  • reasonable cost;
  • possibility of daily use;
  • color spectrum;
  • smell;
  • light texture;
  • does not clog the skin;
  • masks;
  • dispenser;
  • duration of effect;
  • season;
  • against sun and ultraviolet radiation.

The packaging of any composition must contain a list of vitamins and biologically active components included in the cream. Vitamins A, B, E and P are especially useful for the dermis, and natural oils and hyaluronic acid are among the nutrients. Almost all tinting cosmetics allow you to even out your tone, albeit within small limits and are suitable for daily use. The cost, color scheme and smell are selected individually, based on your own preferences.

The best foundations for oily skin are described in this material.

You should not purchase products that are too cheap, as well as those that do not indicate the composition and do not have an expiration date.

The light texture of the cosmetics is provided by natural oils and herbal ingredients. The presence of beeswax can cause some clogging of pores, so it is not usually used in daytime tinted creams. The pigment included in the composition allows you to mask some defects. For ease of use, some tinting creams are equipped with a dispenser. This allows you to use the product more economically. Typically, the tinting composition is applied in the morning and retains the effect throughout the day. Cosmetics can be used throughout the year, excluding very frosty and hot days.
