Natural beauty has been a trend for the last few years. It is for this reason that more and more women are turning to eyebrow hair tattooing rather than permanent tattooing. Eyebrow tattooing using the hair method is similar to permanent tattooing in terms of application technique, since the same paints and tools are used. The idea is that individual hairs are painted with paint. This method of tattooing allows eyebrows to look natural. The result depends on the cosmetologist who performs the procedure. It is important to choose the right shade and technique.
Types of hair tattoo
Eyebrows look as natural as possible even when viewed closely. There are two types of hair tattooing:
- The European method consists of applying small, short strokes, equal in length and thickness, from 0.5 to 1 cm. All strokes are directed upward with curved tips towards the bottom. Eyebrows take on a curved shape and look neat and natural. Correction is recommended to be carried out once every 2 months;
- The Eastern method differs from the European one in that the strokes are not the same in length. The cosmetologist creates the impression of maximum naturalness by directing the hairs at different angles, but only upwards. Sometimes they can intertwine and go beyond the overall eyebrow pattern. This technique is more complex and requires certain skills from the cosmetologist. Correction is recommended once a year.
The quality and durability of the pigment depends on the country of origin of the paint.

There are several techniques by which hair tattooing is applied:
- The manual method involves microblading. It is performed using a nozzle, which has a built-in ultra-thin blade. The hairs are applied in the form of micro-incisions, in which the pigment enters the skin. The method is considered traumatic. With this technique of execution, you need to carefully choose a master, since you can get the opposite result instead of beautifully drawn thin hairs;
- The hardware hair technique is less traumatic, since the pigment is introduced into the skin not with the help of linear cuts, but with many micro-punctures. The disadvantage of this technique is that the hairs are not as clear as with microblading;
- Sometimes masters resort to a mixed technique, which consists of the artist drawing the hairs and shading them. The method is the most expensive of those listed, as it requires high qualifications and a lot of time.
The deeper the pigment is introduced, the longer its color lasts. Here it is important to correctly calculate the depth, otherwise, if you introduce the pigment very deeply, you can get bright, rough eyebrows.
Why didn't tattooing on eyebrows work?
In very rare cases, the pigment fits perfectly from the first procedure. This happens under a favorable combination of circumstances: high skill of the cosmetologist and good skin of the client (without fibrosis, dry, etc.). However, most need correction after the pigment appears. Reasons why an additional procedure is required may include the following:
- The master introduced the pigment superficially, going slightly deeper, which is why the paint came off along with the crusts. This happens due to insufficient experience, when the specialist “does not feel” the client’s skin.
- Incorrectly selected method of applying permanent makeup. For example, the hair technique is not suitable for oily epidermis, since the lines are unclear and blurry. In this case, it is better to use spraying.
- Applying pigment to scars. Fibrous tissue has its own characteristics and requires a special approach and knowledge of the nuances. The master must have experience in such work.
- Excessive secretion of lymph. A fairly common cause of paint rejection. Professionals use anesthesia with a vasoconstrictor effect, which reduces the secretion of lymph.
- Application of tint pigments. There are two types of dyes - basic and tint. The former have a high density and completely cover the skin color, the latter are used as an addition to give the eyebrows the desired shade. Some people don't know about this.
- Herpes. Most women have a herpes virus in their bodies, which can be awakened as a result of damage to the skin. The disease can disrupt the contour of the pattern or reduce its density.
- Incorrect care. If the liner has instructed the client on how she should behave after the procedure, then these recommendations must be strictly followed. Otherwise, all responsibility for the result will be on the careless client. Tearing off crusts and steaming the skin can cause the pigment to disappear.
- Properties of the organism. This may include increased immune activity, metabolic processes, and exacerbation of diseases. As a rule, such things are not noticeable to the master and he is unable to do anything about it. In this case, you will have to look for alternative ways to change your appearance.
Who is it recommended for?
Eyebrow hair tattooing will help correct many aesthetic defects. Also, given the current pace of women’s lives, it helps save a huge amount of time when doing morning makeup. Cosmetologists recommend using this method in the following cases:
- Thin and sparse eyebrows;
- Eyebrow hairs grow unevenly;
- Asymmetry in the length or arch of the eyebrows;
- Not satisfied with the shape, including the rise;
- Scars in the eyebrow area;
- The presence of empty spaces in the eyebrow area;
- Correction of poor quality eyebrow work.
For those with oily skin types, the hair method is not suitable. The effect will last much less and frequent correction will be necessary.
Who is not suitable for the procedure?
Hair tattooing is a minimally invasive procedure, but it still involves violation of tissue integrity. And therefore the method has contraindications:
- periods of breastfeeding and pregnancy;
- oncological diseases;
- menstruation (the pigment may not take root as expected due to hormonal changes);
- exacerbation of herpes infection;
- any dermatological diseases localized in the eyebrow area;
- decompensated diabetes mellitus;
- diseases characterized by blood clotting disorders;
- intolerance to the pigments used or hypersensitivity to them;
- any skin infections (viral, fungal or bacterial);
- severe mental disorders;
- epilepsy;
- serious diseases of the cardiovascular system;
- tendency to form keloid scars.
Pros and cons of eyebrow tattooing
For the most part, women turn to this type of tattooing in order to correct cosmetic imperfections or, simply, improve their appearance. The advantages of the procedure include:
- Saves time when applying makeup;
- Elimination of visible visual defects of eyebrows;
- You can emphasize your individuality and look natural;
- The result lasts quite a long time;
- You can model any shape you want.
There are also negative sides. These include:
- Service cost;
- The result depends directly on the professionalism of the master;
- Local anesthesia is not always able to completely eliminate pain;
- With frequent correction, fibrosis of the subcutaneous tissue may develop;
- The eyebrow artist may turn out to be unprofessional and expensive pigment removal will be required;
- If the master does not properly handle the instruments, you can contract extremely dangerous diseases, one of the first is hepatitis;
- Using low-quality pigment may cause lines to blur or change color.
What to do if the scabs don’t go away after eyebrow tattooing
If proper care is not followed, complications will arise, the scabs will not come off as they should, and the whole process will drag on for several weeks. If the skin of the eyebrows becomes red, fever and pain appear, we can say that the infection has become active. Of course, it will be possible to eliminate harmful microorganisms in this situation, but the end result will suffer from this. When pigment distribution is disrupted, it results in uneven color and shape.
Another situation may arise in which the body itself reacts negatively to the pigment. Paint particles will be perceived by him as foreign bodies. With this development of events, the pigment will begin to wash out. In this case, the ichor will disappear, but a new layer containing paint will still begin to appear under it. Most often, this kind of increased sensitivity is the result of an allergic reaction. A negligent attitude to this problem can lead to long-term and painful loss of pigment with constant crust formation. If this happens, it is best to seek help from a cosmetologist who will remove the tattoo completely. It is not difficult to avoid such unpleasant consequences. It is enough to simply clarify in advance whether the client is allergic to the paint used.
The absence of crusts, as well as their long healing, is a reason to be wary. In this situation, ichor discharge may appear, but drying does not occur. Most often, a crust forms 4-5 weeks after tattooing. However, if after this time it has not formed, its appearance can no longer be expected. The reason for this may be that the tattoo was performed using a low-traumatic technology, and then this layer simply should not exist.
Typically, a scab does not form or come off in people who have thick, insensitive skin that can heal quickly. This situation can be considered a variant of the norm. However, there are cases when the crust does not come off because the pigment was not introduced by the master as deeply as required. This oversight can lead to eyebrows looking dull, not expressive, and losing their color very quickly. During the correction process, introducing pigment to a shallow depth is not difficult to correct, but the formation of a crust is considered a necessary condition. We recommend that before performing the procedure, you study reviews about how eyebrow tattoo comes off.

Contraindications
There are a number of contraindications to the hair tattoo procedure. Unfortunately, many women neglect them. Most of these contraindications can affect not only the final visual result, but also the state of health in general. Before carrying out the procedure, it is better to consult a cosmetologist. This method should be abandoned in the following cases:
- Dermatological diseases;
- Prenatal period;
- Menstruation (lower pain threshold);
- Diabetes;
- Problems of the hematopoietic system;
- Herpes;
- Viral, bacterial and fungal diseases;
- Oncology;
- Epilepsy and neurological diseases;
- Individual intolerance to one of the pigment components.
Temporary side effects include redness, swelling and swelling. There may be slight itching during the healing process of micro cuts or punctures.
Features of care
To prevent permanent makeup from causing negative health consequences, you need to provide your eyebrows with careful care. The healing process usually lasts 5-10 days. To get the desired result, you need to follow these recommendations:
- After the procedure, sunbathing is prohibited until the skin is completely restored.
- You should not visit the sauna or swimming pool. Swimming in open waters is also prohibited. This will help prevent infection.
- During the healing period, you should not use scrubs or masks. At this time, it is necessary to apply a special ointment - a specialist will recommend a specific preparation.
- Do not touch your eyebrows with your hands or rub them with a towel.
After the procedure, ichor is usually released, after which a crust appears. It is strictly forbidden to remove it yourself, as this can lead to the removal of pigment from the epidermis. As a result, permanent makeup will become uneven.
Swelling may remain on the skin for some time after the procedure. In such a situation, it is recommended to drink any allergy medicine - for example, suprastin or tavegil . If pain occurs, you can take a pain reliever.
During the healing period, it is important to avoid damage to injured skin. Therefore, you should wash your face very carefully. It is strictly forbidden to rub your face with a towel - this can cause irritation.
Preparing for eyebrow tattooing
The master must consult the client to find out the following before the procedure:
- State of health, to exclude contraindications;
- Determine skin type;
- Model eyebrows based on facial features;
- Choose the desired shade.
After this, the skin is treated with a disinfectant around the tattoo area. Next, the sketch is drawn with a pencil and anesthesia is applied.
To select the desired shade, the master can mix several colors. One color never works. It should be understood that there are certain rules in choosing the appropriate tone:
- For brunettes, choose cool shades of dark brown;
- Warm chocolate colors are recommended for brown-haired women;
- For those with ash-colored hair, a gray-brown shade is suitable;
- For blondes - light honey colors.
Progress of the procedure
More is spent on preparation, consultation and selection of forms and materials. It is necessary to agree on all the nuances and wishes of the client in order to achieve the desired result. The procedure can be divided into several stages:
- Stage 1: Consultation with a specialist. Taking into account the client’s wishes, photographs or drawings of eyebrow shapes are selected, as well as the color of the pigment;
- Stage 2: Treatment of the eyebrow area. If there is decorative cosmetics, then it is removed with professional cosmetics. Disinfection of the affected area;
- Stage 3: Sketching. Eyebrows are drawn with a cosmetic pencil according to the approved sketch. It is adjusted until the client’s complete approval;
- Stage 4: Application of local anesthesia. Pain relief is carried out using an anesthetic cream or lidocaine injection;
- Stage 5: Application process. The paints are mixed to obtain the desired color and the drawing begins.
During this time, the master applies the main amount of hairs. After this, the client evaluates the result. If adjustments or additions are required, the master corrects the defects and then continues work. After completion of the procedure, there may be slight swelling and redness, and sometimes ichor is released. Such side effects disappear after a few days.
Important: instruments must be sterilized, and the package with the needle must be opened in front of the client.

What not to do if your eyebrow tattoo is unsuccessful
Langerists practice correcting errors in permanent makeup techniques by covering dark pigmentation with a beige shade or white tone. The method gives a short-lived effect, and it is almost impossible to remove beige paint from the skin using a laser procedure.
Bad makeup can significantly change a woman's appearance for the worse. To prevent problems, you should choose a tattoo expert with particular scrupulousness.
You must follow all recommendations for eyebrow care. If there is a violation in the technique of execution and after some time negative consequences appear, it is necessary to visit a tattoo artist who will offer an acceptable solution to the current unfortunate situation.
Eyebrow care after the procedure
After the eyebrow tattoo procedure, careful and competent care is necessary. For the first few hours after the session, it is necessary to soak the released ichor with cotton pads so that it does not dry out on the eyebrows. After the ichor has stopped oozing, apply any antiseptic ointment.
A crust forms on the eyebrows. During this period they will itch. You cannot rip or comb your eyebrows. It is recommended to apply moisturizer before going to bed.
The healing period for eyebrows depends on the regenerative abilities of the body, usually from one week to three. During this period, it is important not to wet the tattoo, not to peel off the crusts, and not to apply decorative cosmetics over it.
How to care for permanent makeup
Are you going to get your eyebrows tattooed or have you already done it, but don’t know how to care for them? Then this article is for you. We have collected tips for you that will help you avoid scars, swelling, and dye bleeding after the procedure. After all, a lot depends on proper care, as well as on the right specialist.
Why do we resort to permanent eyebrow makeup? Because we always want to look irresistible. After all, eyebrows give our image even more attractive. Therefore, it is very important to choose the right form and then maintain it.
I also really want to save time in the morning and not waste it on eyebrow makeup. After all, sometimes it’s possible to quickly draw a contour and make the desired bend, and sometimes it takes a lot of time. Therefore, microblading or tattooing is our salvation!
For those who have not yet decided and are just collecting information, I suggest listening to real reviews about the permanent makeup procedure and its results. Since I only did arrow tattoos, I’ll leave my review when we talk about them)))
We warn you that you only need to contact a professional craftsman who will take into account all your wishes and will be very careful in his work. And we, in turn, advise you to use this information as a cheat sheet so that permanent makeup will serve you for a long time!
Immediately after the procedure, your eyebrows will be quite bright and their contour will be clear. This may scare you a little, since not every woman dares to go out with such bright makeup.
Do not worry! It should take some time to heal and the pigment will fade over time, leaving you with a nice, natural shade. Let's figure out how makeup heals day by day, and then we'll tell you what not to do after the procedure.
So, you have decided to get a tattoo. We have chosen a good salon, they have chosen a beautiful shape for you, the necessary shade that is in harmony with your appearance and hair color. You left the salon. How will the makeup heal?
Healing stages:
- Day 1−2. They are similar to each other, since the eyebrows have very bright outlines, as if they had just been drawn with a pencil or felt-tip pen.
- Day 3 - 4. Crusts are forming. They cannot be deleted! Otherwise, you may remove some of the pigment and have to redo the whole job. Be patient just a little. The crusts will come off soon.
During this period, we advise you to apply Bepanten or D-panthenol . They relieve tightness. Avoid dryness and discomfort. Treat skin every 2-3 hours.
- Day 5 - 6. The crusts will begin to disappear, the pain will subside and the pigment will begin to lighten. But after a while the brightness will return, but the shade will no longer be so saturated.
- Day 7−8. The crusts have already completely disappeared. You may be upset by the fact that the pigment is almost invisible. But don't worry! After two days, the brightness will finally return. This will be the final version of the procedure. If you still lack color, then the specialist can add a little dye during correction.
Result before and after
How your eyebrows will look in the future depends on proper care. This is a very important stage. Do not neglect it, otherwise the master’s labors will not be crowned with success, and you will be full of disappointment.
Follow these tips and you will prolong the amazing results of permanent makeup for a long time.
Immediately after the procedure and for the next 2 weeks it is prohibited:
- Refrain from visiting the sauna (bath), swimming pool, solarium, do not dive into the sea. Various infections can occur with water. After all, there are still unhealed wounds on the skin now.
- After washing, gently pat your face dry with a towel. Try not to get your eyebrows too wet.
- Do not apply masks, scrubs, or peelings to the skin after permanent treatment. It is better to give up cosmetics for a while.
- It is not recommended to wet your eyebrows for the first 2 days. Therefore, wash your hair before the procedure.
- If ichor appears, it should be slightly blotted. And treat the skin with ointment, chlorhexidine or miramistin.
- Try not to touch the skin with your hands, scratch your eyebrows or touch the scabs!
Agree, the recommendations are simple and easy to follow.
The most important thing is not to touch the crusts and at this moment moisturize the skin as much as possible. Otherwise, it can lead to the appearance of scars, scars and swelling. It can also easily become infected. Take care of yourself and your health, follow all care instructions!
Surely you are concerned about the question: “How long does permanent makeup last?” Now we will answer it. But remember, how long it will decorate your face depends on you, or rather on how carefully you took care of your makeup after the procedure.
- The brighter and more intense the permanent makeup is, the longer it will last.
- Individual characteristics of the body.
- Skin renewal. A young woman renews herself faster than a mature one, and accordingly, the tattoo comes off faster.
- The pigment lasts longer on the eyelids than on the eyebrows and lips. Take this into account.
- Moisturizing your skin is essential if you want to make your makeup last longer.
- Sunlight causes the dye to fade.
Over time, the pigment comes out of the deep layers of the skin and is washed away. This happens not only with makeup, but even with a regular tattoo. To avoid complete “washing out” of the dye, you can make a correction. We will talk about this in more detail in the next article.
Effect duration and correction
The need for correction depends on various factors. It happens that not everyone needs it. Sometimes correction is resorted to to add brightness to the color or adjust the shape. Tattoo correction is carried out no earlier than a month later. And it involves the same care as after the first procedure.
Factors influencing the durability of tattoos:
- Skin type. For those with dry and normal skin, the tattoo will last for 2-3 years;
- The properties of dyes are another important factor. German-made paints last six months to a year, American-made paints last 2-3 years. Professional tattoo ink lasts up to 10 years;
- Durability also depends on the depth of pigment introduction into the skin. The deeper the color is introduced, the longer it retains its brightness;
- The individual characteristics of the body affect the shade of the pigment and how the body perceives it. Some reactions to the procedure that cannot be predicted.
Reviews with before and after photos
The result depends 95% on the professionalism of the master. For the most part, clients are satisfied with the new look of their eyebrows. Elena, 28 years old:
I have been doing eyebrow hair tattooing for about four years now and undergo correction once every 2 years. Each correction is very painful for me, even anesthesia does not help. The eyebrows heal in about a week. I'll have to go back for another session soon, but the result is amazing and worth it.
Anya, 27 years old:
For me, the hair method procedure was actually a salvation. I always struggled with choosing the color of the pencil, and in the summer it would spread or smudge from an accidental touch. Now I have a wonderful shape and a gorgeous color!
Lisa, 25 years old:
I got my eyebrows tattooed a little over a week ago. I found a very good master. She quickly helped me choose both the shape and color. The procedure was completely painless! For three days I smeared my eyebrows with a special ointment. My crusts were small and almost invisible. I was very pleased!
Nastya, 29 years old:
A month ago, at a tattoo parlor, I had a hair tattoo on my eyebrows, which I ended up greatly regretting! I went there because a friend of mine did my eyebrows there and it was very good, and the price was very low. After the scabs came off, it turned out that the eyebrows were not the same in length and had different heights. I had to fix it. Yesterday I visited a good salon and they redid everything for me. It was very painful, despite the anesthesia. Conclusion: don't skimp on yourself.
Anya, 33 years old:
I had my eyebrows done using the hair method a month ago. I didn't experience any pain at all. The crusts fell off after a week and, as the master warned, half the color was gone. They became just as light as I wanted. Now I don’t have to draw my eyebrows with a pencil for an hour in the morning, I’m just happy! I'll go for a correction in a week. The main thing is to find a good master and you will be very satisfied.

How to get perfect eyebrows out of nothing or everything I know about eyebrow makeup
Fashion is so fleeting that you just have time to follow the trends. We don't have time to adjust. It would seem that quite recently thin threads were in fashion, which gradually transformed into more natural, neatly plucked eyebrows, and now, as soon as I learned how to make a beautiful shape for my eyebrows, how, hello, wide natural thickets are already in fashion. And what should I do if my eyebrows are rapidly tending... to the image of the Mona Lisa (and she, as you remember, has no eyebrows at all)? Now I will tell you what way out of the situation I find. And I’ll tell you in detail what, how and why.
Yes, blonde hairs can be dyed with permanent dye, and in the summer that’s what I do. But I don’t paint in winter, and I’ll show you why later. The good thing about blond hairs is that I can make anything out of them. Although this is little consolation, it would be better if I had naturally wide, beautiful eyebrows, even if there were fewer opportunities for experimentation, but more natural beauty. My eyebrow makeup arsenal looks like this:
1. Eyebrow shadow in a natural brownish-gray shade, without a reddish tint, I use the usual El corazon 38 eyeshadow, there is absolutely no difference between eyeshadow and eyebrow shadow.
2. Eyebrow pomade. My favorite is from Inglot, longevity, blendability, choice of shades - I'm happy with everything. And its most important advantage is that it weighs only 2 g and does not have time to dry out.
3. Angled brushes for drawing clear boundaries of the eyebrows. I have a lot of different ones, my favorites are these Zoeva No. 317, 322. In eyebrow brushes, the main thing is that the brush is very flat, with a thick one it is difficult to draw a clear boundary and preferably dense artificial bristles, natural bristles are difficult to wash off from liquid eyebrow lipsticks.
4.Powder eyebrow pencils. There are also wax ones, but in my situation they are not suitable, because wax ones very naturally fill the gaps between the hairs, but practically do not complete the shape, and as you saw, I have to draw and draw there. I have El corazon pencils in radically different shades.
5.White and beige kajal for working out the area under the eyebrow. I have a white El corazon kajal and a beige El Corazon Lipliner pencil No. 264 Beige classic. I practically never use white in everyday life, but beige is my must-have
6.Sharpener. I probably shouldn’t have made it a separate point, but since I started it. A dull pencil can ruin the line, will never give a clear shape and in general... The pencil must be kept sharp, like a surgical instrument.
7. Concealer to eliminate imperfections. I love Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat because it works as a light highlighter, but it's a matter of preference
I explain the situation with pencils.
Shade
312 Cand topaz
is very light, with a slight reddish tint, suitable for natural blondes with warm undertones. In my case, this pencil comes in handy when I need makeup without makeup, I don’t finish drawing anything, but just slightly shade my eyebrows. Like this
311 Milk Chocolate
is the most used. Brown without reddishness, beautifully draws the shape of the eyebrow, easily and naturally fills in the missing hairs. Like this.
I rarely use shade 302 Charcoal, only for some bright smokey eyes. This is cold graphite, but of all the pencils it draws the clear shape of the eyebrow better.
Now it’s funny even to myself how different these pencils look on skin without makeup. In life I don’t compare them like that, but here I did it for the article. funny
Recently I came across a publication on some blog, a girl was talking about the most beautiful shadows, and I couldn’t help thinking: why don’t you do something with your eyebrows? In makeup, eyebrows are everything. Don't believe me? I'll prove it now.
This is the makeup I did specifically for this article. Agree, eyebrows make makeup unfinished.
In general it looks even worse. There seems to be no color in my face, although I have bronzer and blush on, and my eyes are painted quite brightly.
That's why I'm showing you how I draw my eyebrows. In this tutorial I did everything with an angled brush and shadows, but they do it exactly the same way with a pencil.
1. I start everything from the bottom line. I have to finish drawing a lot.
2. Eyebrow tail.
3.Draw the upper border of the eyebrow.
4. I connect the tail with the upper border.
5. Filling in the eyebrow.
6. I use beige kajal to work the area under the eyebrow. In general, makeup should start with the eyebrows. Then this stage will not spoil the makeup that I have done with shadows, but since I started doing everything backwards, I tried to carefully mix the pencil and shadows.
7. Using a flat brush, I shade the beige kajal under the eyebrow and use concealer to remove all the blemishes, making the eyebrow line clearer.
Here's what I got. The difference is significant.
And let's compare the general plan.
Now do you agree that eyebrows are everything?
