SPIVAKMaryana Timofeevna

Maryana Spivak is known as a Russian theater and film actress. The girl is a representative of the director-actor dynasty. The artist’s first episodic roles in the serial films “The Smart Man” and “Son of the Father of Nations” brought her the love of the audience. But real fame came to Maryana Spivak thanks to her leading role in the dramatic film “Loveless” in 2020. The actress’s brilliant work was noted by both the domestic and international cinematic communities.

Maryana Spivak

The future celebrity was born in 1985 on March 23 in Moscow into a legendary creative family. The girl's parents are famous actors. The public remembered Maryana’s mother, Ekaterina Vasilyeva, for her role as Alena in the melodramatic film “You Never Dreamed of It,” and her father, Timofey Spivak, for her work in the films “It was the fourth year of the war” and “Maritsa.”

Maryana’s grandmother, People’s Artist of the RSFSR Zhanna Trofimovna Prokhorenko, was remembered by viewers for the films “Kalina Krasnaya” and “The Ballad of a Soldier.” An interesting fact is that little Maryana called her grandmother Zhanetik, as did other family members. After all, this woman, even in old age, looked impressive and attractive.

An equally famous film personality in the USSR was also the girl’s grandfather, Evgeny Vasiliev. The man was known as the director of the cult film “Farewell of the Slav”.

Obviously, the future of a child born into such a famous acting family was predetermined. However, Maryana herself, having heard a lot of behind-the-scenes and off-screen details about the lives of artists as a child, flatly refused to follow in the footsteps of her parents. The girl said that it was better to study to be a journalist, veterinarian or even an astronaut, but not to become an actress.

It is worth noting that Maryana’s statements were not simple words. Young Spivak was seriously engaged in studying English, for which she attended courses at the Diplomatic Academy, after which she was awarded a diploma with honors. In parallel with English, the girl also managed to study French and Latin. Maryana also pleased her family and teachers with excellent grades at school.

However, apparently the genes still “took their toll,” since Spivak was always an active participant in all school concerts. The girl’s godmother, actress Marina Levtova, with whose daughter (Daria Moroz) Maryana had been friends for a long time, helped her finally decide on her future profession. After a serious conversation with her godmother, the girl, not really believing in her own strength, applied to several theater universities in the capital at once. To Spivak’s own surprise, she was able to enroll in three institutes at once. As a result, Maryana chose the Moscow Art Theater School, where her friend Daria Moroz was already a student.

The girl learned the secrets of acting in the workshop of Igor Zolotovitsky and Sergei Zemtsov. Maryana’s debut works on stage were roles in “Hamlet,” where she portrayed Gertrude, and in “The Nameless Star,” where the actress played the main character, Mona. After which the young artist played in the productions “Don’t Part With Your Loved Ones” and “Three Sisters.”

In 2006, Spivak received a higher education diploma with honors. Immediately after graduation, the girl was accepted into the troupe of the Satyricon Theater. The actress really enjoyed performing on the stage of this legendary theater. Over the years of work at Satyricon, Maryana played many main roles: Cordelia in King Lear, Anna Pavlovna in A Profitable Place, Masha in The Seagull, Desdemona in Othello. The artist’s talent did not go without praise from critics: for example, Spivak became a laureate of the. V. Meyerhold.

But Maryana made her film debut much earlier. We can say that she first appeared on the screen even before she was born, because her mother starred in “Farewell of the Slav” while pregnant. And at the age of 5, Maryana got an episode in one of the films that her grandfather filmed. In her youth, Spivak played the main role of Vasilisa in the fairy-tale film “Grief and Misfortune.” The director of this film was Maryana’s dad, Timofey Spivak.

The actress was remembered by the audience for her roles in the following films: “Son of the Father of Nations”, “Fyodorov”, “The Smart Guy”, “Capercaillie”, “Partner”, “Fool Bullet”. Often the girl had the opportunity to work on the same set with her famous mother and grandmother.

2017 brought the artist work in the dramatic film “Loveless” by Andrei Zvyagintsev. It is worth noting that this film created a real sensation and soon won the jury prize at the Cannes festival. In addition, the film was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Picture.

Maryana Spivak’s first husband was actor Kirill Petrov, a relationship with whom the girl does not like to remember. The second time she remarried her colleague, Anton Kuznetsov. For the man, this marriage also became the second. The young people met at Satyricon. Working together on one performance brought them closer: soon the theatrical feelings became real.

Before filming the series “Partners,” the artist became a mother, giving birth to a son, Gregory, from her beloved husband in 2015. By the way, the boy has already appeared in films: Grisha starred in a detective film with his parents.

According to some reports, Maryana and Anton live in a civil marriage and do not put a stamp in their passport. However, this fact does not at all interfere with their happy family life.

In 2020, the premiere of the detective serial film “The Code” took place, in which Maryana Spivak got the main role. The events in the series take place in the 50s of the last century. Maryana's heroine is a former GRU employee who investigates dangerous crimes, and three friends help her in this. Their roles on the screen were embodied by Ekaterina Vilkova, Yana Osipova and Elena Panova.

Also in 2020, the artist starred in the fantasy film “Epidemic,” which can be called prophetic. According to the plot of the disaster film, the world is struggling with an epidemic of an unknown virus, from which people are dying en masse.

2020 brought the actress work on the following films: “Yaga. Nightmare of the Dark Forest", "We" and "Tsoi".

Movies

Anton Kuznetsov made his film debut simultaneously with his appearance on the theater stage. During his student years, he appeared in the comedy series “FM and the Guys,” playing a pizza delivery man in the episode “Are You My Brother or Not My Brother.”

In 2005, Anton got a bigger role: this year his collaboration with Pyotr Fedorov began. In Fedorov’s directorial debut, the gay trash drama Per rectum, the actor played the protagonist’s friend.

After a 4-year break, Anton Kuznetsov returned to the set. In the art-house drama “Russia-88” directed by Pavel Bardin, he played the criminal Dobroy, the main role of the gang leader Bayonet went to Pyotr Fedorov. “Russia-88” is the first Russian film about neo-Nazis. The project caused mixed reactions from viewers and heated discussions. In 2009, the film was shown at the Berlinale Film Festival.

In 2011, director Sergei Loban invited Kuznetsov to his musical comedy “Chapiteau Show: Love and Friendship.” The serious and at the same time humorous film consists of four interconnected short stories: “Love”, “Respect”, “Cooperation” and “Friendship”. Each of them has its own main character, trying to deal with one of the “problems” indicated in the title of the short story. Anton Kuznetsov played sound engineer Nikolai. The film received the Grand Prix at Kinoshock and was included in five nominations for the Nika film award.

In 2012, Pavel Bardin again invited the actor to his project, in which the main role again went to Pyotr Fedorov. Anton Kuznetsov appeared in the musical crime comedy "Gop-Stop", which film critics called "Bumbarash-2". On the set of the film, Kuznetsov met with Lev Durov and Anna Mikhalkova.

The year 2012 marked a breakthrough in the artist’s career. Director Sergei Ursulyak invited Anton Kuznetsov to play the main role in the drama “Life and Fate” based on the novel of the same name by Vasily Grossman. Kuznetsov got the image of major, regiment commander Ivan Berezkin. The series premiered in October on the Rossiya-1 TV channel. In addition to Anton Kuznetsov, the main characters of the drama were played by Sergei Makovetsky, Alexander Baluev, Sergei Puskepalis and Lika Nifontova.

In the same year, Anton Kuznetsov appeared in Mikhail Khleborodov’s 8-episode melodrama “Ahead of the Shot,” in which he played Oleg Palenov. The film premiered on Channel One.

Two years later, viewers saw the Muscovite in the role of Bart in the 8-episode detective story “Headhunters,” the script of which was worked on by Valery Todorovsky and Dmitry Aleinikov.

In 2020, Mikhail Khleborodov invited the actor to his comedy-crime series Temporarily Unavailable, which viewers first saw in December on Channel One. Anton Kuznetsov brilliantly played a criminal nicknamed “Intercom”, and Sergei Bezrukov played the key character - the official Zolotov.

In the same year, Anton Kuznetsov got a starring role in Sergei Ursulyak’s project “Quiet Don”. The audience saw the artist in the image of Ivan Kotlyarov. The 14-episode film adaptation of Mikhail Sholokhov's novel of the same name stars Evgeny Tkachuk, Sergei Makovetsky, Daria Ursulyak and Nikita Efremov. The All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion, having analyzed the preferences of Russians in the field of cinema, named the film the television series of the year.
